i am using jwrightmcp's 2.02.00 ROM and its fantastic in almost all aspects... the only problem that is ripping me off is Windows Live Messenger.... i just can't get through to sign in...
i click on my live messenger icon,
it tells me to sign in..
4/5 steps goes fine... when it comes to step 5/5 where it says checking internet connectivity... the status bar doesn't show any progress and after around 60 seconds it says...
-->
synchronization error and a messege appears.. "Windows Live is unable to connect. The service may be temporarily unavailable, or you may be in a place where date coverag isn't very good. Pls try again."
<--
i am unable to sign in the live messenger ever since and couldn't get help too...
can any of the pro help me out.... i'll appreciate his/her concern..

I had posted about this earlier. I had similar problem. Then I went to MS site to seek help and got my answer.
Copy paste the url address and try to sign in from normal PC.
thats what I did and now I have no problems.
Hope it helps.:)

farehmani... have you tried this...
connect the unit to PC via USB and let it sync with AS. Once completed, open Live. It will open GPRS to sync, cancel the GPRS connection via the bubble on the top bar. Once cancelled, Live should try to sync via AS and it should be successful.
Hopefully once it's fully synced with the server you shouldn't have anymore problems connecting. Let us know how you get on.

hi SpyderTracks,
i havn't had tried this solution so far, i would love to give it a go... but at the moment,,, i'm using vista and i am unable sync it with Windows mobile device center... i don't get the sync option. just the file transfer.
do i have to experiment your suggestion in winXP?

Interesting... my flatmate is having the same problems in Vista for some reason we can't seem to work out... that's one of the many reasons I returned to XP ;) I know it's old but at least it works :)
I don't know if it will work without WMDC recognising the device, but in theory it should anyway, so long as it's recognised by Vista as a mobile device... in theory :o Give it a go, let me know. Good luck!
I can't remember if you tried with wireless, but you can try that too after disconnecting the GPRS connection, just connect to wireless and try syncing. Sorry if that was the original problem, I'm really tired and my memory is failing me.

You may need to check whether your WIFI connections, or 3G or GPRS connections are set to "work" or "the internet".
also check our internet exceptions and and see if you are inadvertantly blocking your IP address ranges.
you could also try and check that your "network card" setting is using "the internet" as compared to the specific WIFI AP connection type.
I had similar problems and its likely to be due to this, you need to really have them set to "The Internet" in your WIFI, in your AS and in your GPRS or 3G internet connections.
I only use it on WIFI at home or work, NextG or 3G is just to expensive to use, all need to be set to "The Internet" and when the 3G/NextG connection bubble comes up, I just cancel it and then it goes to the WIFI connection.

Thank you for your help... But believe me: It's not a network problem.. For a lot of reason..
It doesn't work even by my ADSL (using Active Sync), It works ONLY when i delete my user/pass and i connect for the first time! Every time i want to use i have to do this workaround... So it's not a connection problem.. Because it works.. ONLY the first time..
