They sent an SMS to all registered users ; I will wait until the mad rush is over.
You don't expect there to be anything useful in this release do you ?
They (Leaf) sent me a mail a few days ago saying that they will make WM6 available as well during June / July.

"I don't want to make a prediction, but I believe we should watch the HTC Europe site from tomorrow on.
After the official release of the Dopod ROM today, I think our wait is at last over.
Obviously I am reffering to the long overdue WM5 upgrade.
If the Dopod(HTC) version is anything to go by we could have:
AKU 3.3.1
Radio 1.38.00.10
Simon 1219 has reported on the Dopod version today in a seperate thread, but it's release heralds the planned release tomorrow of the WWE version. (Keep everything crossed)
Of course this news will dissapoint the WM6 guys, as the official release for the Hermes will only be made during Q3."

Is it safe to say we can use the update and later, use the SPL override(1.09) to flash something else?
Can an SPL lock the device to our SPL "FIXES"?

...could not be true...cause if you look in the RUU_signed.nbh there are also 2 files named:
00_IPL
01_SPL
so just be carefully...I have made an Hard_SPL ready install...but still don`t know if it will work or not...cause the RUU install is a little bit different...will see tomorrow cause I have vista @ home...but fortunately I have XP @ office ;)

The installation process is very fast.
i see nothing new, just same OLD WM5 :(
lets hope it`s stable.
about the speed, I agree - it`s a bit slower then WM6 roms.
You have after a SR 30MB and a bit.
and 50.52MB for storage
it has a 3G icon and not the U icon.
will update as I find new things.

I've edited the PagePool to 8MB before flashing it.
It runs faster then anything I had before! Before this I used WMXL 0.20.
Before this it slowed down a lot when listening to music on the widcomm stack and surfing the net.
Haven't tried this one with the normal pagepool size, but the 8MB rocks :)
For now this is my favorite rom :)
Also coreplayer is working without needing a fix :)

Nope I mean adjusting the pagepool size from pof:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295932
I think the Widcomm drivers may need a little extra driver memory and now it works mutch better.
But I'm not sure it's the pagepool that makes it faster or it is this rom.
But don't feel like flashing again and it just rocks now :)

elivne, same thing i've noticed using WM6 from lvsw and 1.38.00.11 & 1.16.00.00 radios. I think it's a problem of radio itself, though I am not a specialist; I've just observed that.
Right now I am using same WM6 and 1.35.00.11 radio. So far (1 day) everything looks stable, no hangs, no "sleeping" without wakeup and GPRS started finally to work... :) We'll see how further it goes...

I have just bought an HTC TyTN. The device details are:
ROM version 1.18.255.3
ROM Date 07/22/06
Radio Version 1.03.03.10
Protocol Version 32.34.7010.01H
ExtROM Version 1.18.255.106
Model No HERM200
It seems the current versions in my device are OOOLD. Is there any Official upgrade available. If so, please help with the pointers to the download sites.
What additional stuff I will get with the upgrade.
BTW, shouldn't I upgrade to WM6?

I have flashed my Tytn to this new ROM using the standard .exe file that was shared at the beginning of this Thread. No problems encountered, upgraded in about 10 minutes. I have installed SPB Mobile Shell, SPB Time, SPB Diary, SBSH PocketWeather, Total Commander, HTWeakC, Batti 2.1, and PocketInformant 2007. All these programs installed on internal memory.
Working well so far. Only noted problem so far is my 2GB Sandisk microSD card dissapeared once while browsing with Total Commander - I just ejected it and put it back in and it was re-discovered. I did not have this problem with the 7/22/07 South Africa ROM. If everything else is more stable, I'm willing to live with this.
WiFi seems to work fine on 64 bit WEP - will test with AES WPA2 later today. This has a new "Streaming Media" item in the Programs Folder - looks like it's hard-wired to take RTSP stream addresses. Also comes with HTC "Task Manager" which is a program that allows you to actually exit programs when you hit the 'x' at the top corner, rather than just minimize them. The 'G' that I always had in the top of the screen is now an 'E' -- looks like the icons are more up to date. Tapping on the time no longer displays upcoming appointments.
The "Date" item on the Today screen is two lines instead of one - not sure why. ROM is probably 10 - 15% faster than the 7/22/06 South Africa ROM.
Stability seems fine so far - I will comment more on that when I have some real world experience under my belt. On 7/22/06 ROM I had problems with bluetooth turning off overnight, radio defaulting to off after resetting the device, device locking up occasionally. We'll see if this new ROM fixes any of that.

I tried to update the ROM with your 2.11 file (actually I have ROM 1.35 on SPV M3100) but everytime I start the Update the TyTn turns off !!! I never had this before. And Also when I let the Pocket PC connected when I start the exe file it starts an OS check and my TyTn goes to the bootloader. So I cannot upgrade it. I do not understand what's wrong, it always went fine in the past...

This ROM not good for me, IMHO the difference from test AKU3 is WPA2 only.
My FAT16 card is still disappears randomly with all possible registry tweaks as in test AKU3 ROMs.
Card was exellent in WMXL0.20 within 1 week, no card issues.
Initial A2DP too bad of course, known tweaks makes sound better.

ClearVue PDF v2.42.452 is included in this ROM. Don't know if it is any different from the one included in ROM 1.35, or whether it works any better than that version as I don't use it.

I reverted back to WM6, the rom is stable.
Its fast but no lightning fast.
WM6 has HTML and i need it.
after removing all junk and only installing O2plus the phone has only one freeze.
I believe it's the best rom right now, but I cant live without WM6

Lovely ROM! Feels a bit more faster than the SA 1.35 ROM I had previously but I'm finding it much more stable.
This will do nicely as a nice stop gap for a month or 2 until I jump on the WM6 bandwagon.

Just in case anyone was going to upgrade/downgrade to this just for WPA2, drddrd has managed to extract the WPA2 CAB from this ROM. It installs successfully into WM6 and at least my 2.06 WM5 (HTC WWE) ROM. I was going to flash this until I saw his post. Now I'll save myself the hassle of the hard-reset by just taking the WPA2 feature.

Hmm, bad news. Leaf linked the wrong bloody file to the download button. AARRGH!!.
have emailed them, we'll see.
EDIT: okay, they fixed it. at least now I'm getting proper dl speeds. Will post link in 15 mins.
EDIT2: Bleaurg!!! download speed gone all to hell again! patience peeps. she's a'comein.
EDIT3: Confirmed, it's the WWE edition :)
EDIT4: awesome. Leaf's servers bombed with 4MB to go. sorry guys, looks like this might take a while.
Hello Vibe,
Your download was killed by Leaf themselves.
I phoned them to tell them that they had stuffed up the file and that 1.35 was again on the site, but as the AKU 3.3 upgrade.( after an hour plus of downloading)
This they denied and directed me to another download area on their site, which was correct, After 19mb at 8kb/s they must have discovered their mistake and reset their servers. That's why it dropped out again.
Well after that it was OK but the at the same snail's pace.
They were quick to advise of the update and we do appreciate that, but one would think that an apology would have followed, but no.
At least they again lead the WWE community with the release.
Can you believe HTC Europe has again denied the existence of an official WWE WM5 ROM upgrade.
"Thank you for contacting HTC Europe.
The official HTC TyTN ROM update has not been released yet, so I am unsure as to the exact legitimacy of the current one you are using."

Hello,
I have downloaded this ROM onto a Orange SPV M3100. All went smoothly and it does appear to be faster and is definately got a better feature set than the ORange ROM. (RSAP, Task manager, MSN etc..)
However I have just noticed that it will not see my Micro SD card anymore!
I have tried reseating it. I have tried soft reset, turn on/off etc. but to no avail.
Do I need a different file explorer program? Is this recovereable?
Thanks for any help.

Now few hours experience with this new rom.
The speed is the same as far as I can tell as with 1.35, except
with Resco Explorer under \Windows direcotry. Slow as hell (as slow as with the original ROM and with WM6's).
So far no other complaints/praises.

Further feedback on this ROM:
WPA2 - with AES, working fine
Total Commander Browsing Windows Folder: 2 seconds (just under two rotations of wait cursor - definitely faster than previous South Africa ROM)
MicroSD 2GB Sandisk Card - disappears once a day at random moments, simple eject and re-insert to make it found again. I'm going to check out the registry settings on this and see if the WM6 fix might work
Using push email with Exchange 2003 server - works fine
This device has yet to lock up.
Dial up networking model has changed - now uses network sharing more like WM6. There is a new "Internet Sharing" item in the Programs folder of the start menu. I was able to get internet access from my laptop working with USB (10Mbps connection between phone and laptop) and bluetooth PAN (2.1Mbps connection). Actual throughput on Edge network when tested with speakeasy.net server was about 140kbps downstream, 60kbps upstream.

It's still not WM6. Anyway, as I mentioned in another thread, I'd rather have WM5 fixes sooner and wait for WM6 at a later date, looks like that is what I am going to get.
My impressions so far (after two days) are favourable. My device has yet to lock up even once. It does seem a little faster, but not much. A2DP is still crap, I noticed that this ROM defaults to a MaxBitPool of 30, which probably would get rid of or reduce the number of buffer overrun/underrun skips on most headsets, but sounds like hell (crackling static, poor quality, etc.) Sleuth's "fix" is still required. WLAN works better (don't have to enable/disable/enable to get it working properly). Radio quality is good but I can't speak for 3G improvements as we don't have it here (yet). VC 1.6 still the same as it was with the 1.35 ROM.
It's a big step forward for M$/HTC, but they still have a long way to go!

They work OK for me. You may need to "rebuild" your Pocket Outlook database. Easiest way is probably to copy all of your calendar entries in your desktop Outlook to a temp folder, do an ActiveSync, then copy them back to the default calendar folder and sync again. There are also tools to rebuild your databases, if you look. For example, Pocket Informant has a utility called "Recreate Alarms" (Tools & Settings -> Utilities -> Recreate Alarms).

Just upgraded.
It's a tad bit faster, but I found a really annoying bug..
In my today screen I have the date visible.
Usually everything was on one line like this:
[name day] XX-MONTH-YEAR
Now it's like this
[name day]
XX-MONTH-YEAR
I don't like this so I decided to turn off the "name" of the day so it would be like this:
XX-MONTH-YEAR
But whatever I select, the name doesn't go away. It just stays like
[name day]
XX-MONTH-YEAR (eventhough the lower part changes when I select something else. The upper part just wont go away or in line with the rest!)
Is there a fix or a regedit that can take care of this?
Thanks :).

I am impressed with LEAF's response to my struggle to dowload the file initially, but their techsupport came back to me (via email) within minutes and gave me the correct path to download. I am using two headsets and I am getting great results with both of them.
It was not necessary to change any settings or run Sleuths A2DP fix.
The headsets are The HTC BH S100 and the Nokia HS-12W.
My SD card was still dropping out of the Media Player so I reloaded the ROM, reformatted the SD card and reloaded all the folders and files by Sync.
Since then I have had no hassel except it has gone to sleep a few times and needs a soft reset.
Otherwise no complaints.
No doubt there will still be a few issues that Leaf will look at as they occur.
They only had a weekend to test the ROM before posting.
Hello John B: Maybe you should try one of these headsets. The new HTC is great as it is half the prive of the Nokia. The mike is built into the control unit and features a 3.5mm jackplug, so you can use your own favourite headphones.

Speed and responsiveness is great. Stability is fantastic too! Not had to soft reset with the stylus due to lockups (obviously will depend of what apps you install). Combinded with the 1.38.10 Radio, Reception is great and battery life much improved.

Hi again.
Finally packaged OS and ExtRom with the hermes rom koch http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297257 and flashed ok, the ROM seems stable.
I think the storage space is like black 1.2 cause in WM6 black 1.2 eliminates space reserved for windows update (new in WM6), and in WM5 this space is not reserverd, so this is the cause the storage space is the same.

There seems to be more space available with 2.11 than 1.35. I noticed this after loading all of my apps and data. With 1.35, I had about 20% free space left, with 2.11, I have about 25% free space left.
Also, WPA is supported in this version (as is WPA-PSK, WPA2 and WPA2-PSK). They are in the pull-down menu next to "Authentication" in the "Configure Network Authentication" when you create a Wi-Fi connection.

This issue is related to both "ROM 2.11 Update" tread and also to "CV on TyTN" tread. So far I did not get any answer from "CV on TyTN" tread and hoping to fond a solution here.
CV was working fine on my TyTN after configuring MEdia Net connection settings, 802.11B setting in RealOne and LG-CU500 registry tweak with my previous ROM 1.35. Now I am back to square one after upgrading to ROM 2.11. I did the same exact changes to RealOne and to the registry and I am getting good old "CV is only available on supported 3G phones" message. MEdia Net is configured and coming-up fine. One thing that I have noticed before changing the registry was that the "default" value was "HTC_TyTN-Mozilla/4.0" which was different than the "Mozilla/4.0" value of ROM 1.35. Any help will be very much appreciated.

Just remember to change the stereo setting from 1 to 0 in the registry. HTC have still not fixed this in this new ROM.
Otherwise you will only have mono on an A2DP headset.
BTW John(Burn).
As I got my Nokia and HTC to work perfectly with only the above change,
I think the BT headsets that still are not compatable have hardware problems and the problem lies with them now, not with the new ROM.

Sorry I don't read for a month to try to find an answer to a question. but isn't the common reason we're all here is to help each other. It's not my fault that i'm not a programmer with an inferiority complex. I'm just trying to learn just like the rest of you. So I wanted to personally say thanks for being egotistical, erogant, bigots. I really appreciate the help. Did you ever stop and think that by helping a newB and not shitting all over them they might be more beneficial to this site in the future. Oh never mind that would take compassion and I'm in the wrong place for that.

A2DP Works great. With Media player and Mortplayer.
But... what is the reason ? WM6 (any version) still sucks like old roms.
I am guessing (speculating) it is because M$ added MaxSupportedBitPool=30 to the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings registry entry. On most headsets, this will probably get rid of skipping but will add compression artifacts, which some people don't notice or can live with. (Sleuth255 or Menneisys, if you're lurking, please correct me if I am wrong.) On my headset (Logitech FreePulse), this resulted in extremely poor quality -- hissing, scratchy "static", loss of highs, etc. When I changed the entries to Sleuth255's recommended BitPool=58 and MaxSupportedBitPool=60, the quality improved, but the skipping was just as bad as before (or even worse). Even with Sleuth255's A2DP fix installed, I seem to get more skips than I used to with 1.35 (which was rarely). The bottom line is that the M$ BT stack is still crap and always will be crap until they rewrite it from scratch. The Broadcomm/Widcomm stack is miles better. Now if SuperDave could just getting it fullly working with the Hermes we'd be set!
The versions of WM6 "floating around" are beta versions that predate 2.11 and therefore probably don't have this "fix" in it.

BTW John(Burn).
As I got my Nokia and HTC to work perfectly with only the above change,
I think the BT headsets that still are not compatable have hardware problems and the problem lies with them now, not with the new ROM.
I'm note sure that I agree, Basil. I tried my headset (Logitech FreePulse) with an HP iPAQ which has the Broadcomm BT stack, and it worked beautifully. Not a skip or a stutter, and the quality was far superior to anything I have heard with the TyTN or my predecessor to it, the Wizard. Much deeper bass and higher trebs, and no compression artifacts that my 46 year old ears could detect!

Since I installed this version I encounter this message when I want to play streaming video using IE: 'there is not enough space on your device to download the file'.
Also I often get the message: 'this protected file type is not supported'
I am using the same URL-links that I used before (and with my other phone, a Qtek S200, Ican still play them)
Is there a solution available (searching the web did not do the trick for me)?
Thx in advance.
I get exactly the same thing. I thought this was only the case with the previous 'test' rom. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone, I was running this rom for 2 days then started experiencing the same problems I had with all the WM6 Roms. I would receive no smses, all that would happen is my phone's light would come on, but no sms received, so i've decided to go back to 1.35.
Problem I had when attempting the downgrade is the error connection received, same as Valter033 received. I found a way round it. Currently I'm installing a WM6 rom which didn't give me the error, then i'll attempt the 1.35 rom again.
Wonder if anyone else is experiencing the sms problem?
Update: Installing the 1.35 Rom without the error connection after installing a WM6 Rom after the AKU3 Rom released by HTC. Guess I must learn my lesson-if it's working don't try fix it :)

Hi - I had the same problem, and found the solution in this thread.
Just for the record, here is my path:
I downloaded Custom RUU (ROMUpgrade.zip) from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298737) and upacked it to separate directory
I found the version of my SPL using the method described in this excelent guide (http://www.mrvanx.myzen.co.uk/hermes_guide/) (press and hold OK and power button, and reset with stylus). I was quite surprised that Official Upgrade managed to update my SPL to 1.11 (I had 1.08 originally)
Started the Official Upgrade once more, when it uncompress itself I've searched my drives for RRU_signed.nbh file - which should be in your temp directory
I copied the file to directory containing romupgrade.exe (created in 1.), and canceled the Official Upgrade
Rebooted my laptop and closed all apps (just to be sure)
Finally, I plugged the usb cable to TyTN, waited till it managed to synchronize succesfully, and started to ROMUpgrade. On very first screen I chose only "SPL 1.11 New bootloader", then pressed next few times, waited 15 minutes and - voila! I've got AKU3 on my HTC.
Hope this helps.
Credits go to Olipro, who made it possible, and to Sleazey who gave this solution.

Have you enabled the 'receive all incoming beams' from settings > Connections > Beam ?
Yes sir! It's enabled, not helping though.
BTW I thought this setting is relevant only to IRDA, isn't it?
Anyway thanks for trying to hint me!

I'm on Cingular USA (AT&T).
I was on the last SA ROM. Phone worked flawlessly. Flashed this latest ROM. Now phone will allow one or two successfull calls, then when a number is dialed and "call" is pressed, the device will start to dial and then suddenly I get the "call ended" chime and text, and the call is stopped. Soft reset will allow one or two more calls. I thought it may be interference with the data side, and I've tried both ISP.Cingular and MediNet. No effect.
I've got the phone set to the "auto" network and band settings.
Anyone else with this issue and any ideas?

I had a similar issue with that (in the 1.38.10 Radio thread). Turns out it was a local transmitter issue and everything is fine.
In the band setting, select GSM for network type and under GSM/UMTS band, select the band that applies to you.
If that works perfectly, then you've probably got a 3G signal issue.

I have upgraded from UK Orange ROM:
SPL: 1.04
Operator Version: 14.123.1.614
ROM Version: 1.23.61.4
Radio Version: 1.06.00.00
Protocol Version: 32.37.7010.01H
Used Hard SPL V.4 and then built a ROM using Olipros RUU-V2 ROMBaker.
The ROM is basically the OS, GSM and Ext_ROM from AKU 3.3.1 and some specialist bootsplashes. No SPL or IPL loaded after Hard SPL.
The ROM works lovely for me. Improved Bluetooth, improved relaibility, improved call reception. :)
However i have 1 problem that I cant solve:
When I try to connect to my TomTom Go 300 via bluetooth for traffic updates etc.. the TomTom says "Cannot Find required Services".
The TomTom paired OK with the previous ROM and still pairs with other phones - but not with new ROM.
Also I have loaded Jetware mobile - this doesnt cure it either.
I cant load the Widcomm stack as it doesnt work with my BT car kit (however new ROM does billiantly).
So any other expereinces? any helpfull suggestions?? or will I have to try TomTom v.6 built on to my Device.

All,
I have problems getting BB connect to work on the AKU 3.3.1 rom
Install /PIN etc went ok...
But when it tries to connect it says .. data tunnel available.. and then...
Its gone again
On the old SA rom it said Connected.
Could this be a
- ROM issue?
- bb connect issue?
- provider issue?
Any advise appreciated.

After upgrading my tytn to the 2.11.255 WWE update, i found a lot of problems:
- The device no longer sees the microsd card. As if it wasn't present in the slot.
- Sometimes i can't make a call, i have to soft reset and then i can make one or two calls.
- It's not possible anymore to hard reset the device. Even pressing the two - buttons, while pressing the lateral button with the stylus the device soft resets.
Can anyone help me?

My "contacts list" cannot get completely synchronised, it keeps missing three Contacts which it cannot upload onto PDA.
Also my "notes" cannot get synchornised with Outlook.
I have ActiveSync 4.5 and recently I changed ROM to 2.11.
What is wrong?
I am also having problems with uploading files from PDA to PC. I cannot move them, meanwhile I can move them from PC to PDA. Any suggestions?

Hmm, I tried several ways to upgrade to this ROM but it doesn't seem to work.
I tried the following:
Download the "RUU_Hermes_QTEK_WWE_2.11.255.1_102_6275_1.38.00.10 _108_Ship.exe" Rom
Tried upgrading using the normal procedures (Run this file and follow the steps).
Downloaded Hard-SPL-V6 and ran it. Followed the MrVanX's manual. But instead of SPL 1.40 i get 1.09ds and nothing happens.. After softreset the SPL is once again 1.04
Downloaded and ran RUUWrapper Same as above.
I keep getting 260 errors.
When I run the ROM upgrade as shipped It starts with "OS information Detecting" During this procedure the TyTN boots into Bootloaderscreen (The one with the IPL and SPL information.) and stays there.
The desktopwizard continues. I tried leaving the TyTN in this state and softresetting the device but the outcome is still the 260 Error.
When in BL mode.. PC finds an USB Device but cannot find any drivers.. I assume this is normal but I want to mention it in case i'm wrong. When fully booted the TyTN connects to the PC with the ActiveSync 4.5 driverset.
Any Ideas ?
Update: Solved.. The driver was exactly what was needed.. I can't remember installing drivers upgrading my iPAQ
Drivers needed were the ones that can be found in The ActiveSync Drivers folder Default location

Hello
Bought my HTC TyTn a few days ago :)
New to all this
Original SPL bootloader info:
Herm200
IPL-1.01
Herm200
SPL-1.11
Could not update originally with first update i downloaded, would give me error 260 as discussed in previous posts.
I updated my active sync from 4.2 to 4.5 and re-downloaded: RUU_Hermes_QTEK_WWE_2.11.255.1_102_6275_1.38.00.10 _108_Ship.exe
Plugged TyTn in on USB, ran update, screen on phone changed to colourfull bootloader screen, I just left it, once the update started it changed to a % bar, showing % complete, it took about 10 minutes and my phone is now updated.
Everything has been working thus far, Skype, Wifi, Bluetooth, video calls etc
Used the same procedure on a friend's HTC TyTn at work, worked as well.
Now I am wondering about the other firmwares:
Windows Mobile 6 Pro Black Edition 2.5
Windows Mobile 6 LVSW (23-04-07)
and Tools:
Radio version 1.41.00.10 (optional)
SPL (Bootloader) version 2.10.Olipro (HardSPL v7)
I have some questions if anyone can answer them:
1. Does anyone recommend the above WM6 firmwares and which is better?
2. What is the radio version thing, what does it improve?
3. Is it safe to install the HardSPL v7?
4. If i upgrade to WM6 pro black edition for example, can I downgrade back to WM5 WWE_2.11.255.1?
Thanks

1. I would recommend Black 2.5. I use it and like it. Which is better is a matter of opinion - I suggest trying them out, but I have stayed with Black after trying others.
2. Radio versions have different effects for different users (mostly based on provider and georgraphy). Give it a try and keep trying different ones till you find one you like.
3. Yes. In fact, it makes the flashing process safER.
4. Yes.

Hi,
this is my very first post, and I am not sure if this is the correct place to post. I updated my HTC TyTN to this ROM version, 2.11.255.1; dated, 03/07/07; and now phone application messages are not working.
Basically, on the phone application (where the keypad GUI is), my program use to display my custom messages. However, now with this new ROM version, it only shows Cingular (the carrier, which I am using). I checked out Microsoft, but they did not have a new SDK. What is different about this TAPI? There is just a lack of documentation, and I really could not find any samples. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Hi guys!
I'm new to the forum, I've bought a T-Mobile MDA Vario 2 and thanks to your help I've managed to unlock and flash my device without bricking it!:D
I first installed HardSPL (2.10.olipro) and then I installed WWE latest HTC ROM. All went fine, the only issue I have is with the disappearing SD card. Used to happen quite often during file transfers, but I've been running 24+ hours without disappearing at all.
Anyways, the situation:
I've flashed my device to the latest stable ROM currently available. However, there might be a day when I want to check out WM6.
And the question:
When's the danger of bricking? Is it after performing a ROM upgrade in general, or after the first ROM upgrade when you unlock the device? (turn it into superCID)?
I've been looking into the wiki a LOT, but I couldn't find a concrete answer to this.
Thanks in advance!

With Oli's hard SPL loaded, you are in very little danger of bricking your Hermes now, unless you use the "force using SSPL" flashing option. Take normal precations and you will be fine - be careful what you put on the phone (reputable ROMs from XDA and shipped ROMs will be fine) and always make sure you have a good connection to the phone or use SD fashing method once you get that the disappearing problem sorted. Search for it, there are mutiple threads on the issue. I recommend the google forum search (link in my sig). Good luck and have fun.

Hey I noticed some of the alt buttons aren't where they're supposed to be. It's not a big problem, I can access them from the touch pad. But buying this phone over the one I had was SOLELY for the purpose of my preference of the keypad over the touch pad. Is there a way to fix this? Or is there an update that fixed this problem? Cause the fix listed here says only attempt of your basically a wiz on this stuff which I'm far from. Okay, so I managed to flash the phone, gsm unlock it etc, but I'm really new at this.
