Suggestions:

Offer Two editions of each (with different sd size formatting -- size blocks)

Remove extra image files, music files and other files that dont need to be there.

Fix GPRS system. For India GPRS Networks (like Idea, Hutch, etc) when u set a profile for GPRS and APN and click the connect button nothing happens - it doesnt even try to locate the GPRS network.

Set default Higher Volume and higher bass by default since the media player n ringtones have lower volume by default.

Give the extra ROM all the extra cabs. If a user wants he can just delete it all using file manager else can use it for adding extra cabs if required. at the end of the day it makes no difference if its empty or not...the user can remove the files if required.

Integrate OMAP or whatever other Univeral Clocker there is and set it a higher but stable setting. Think of the speed we could get!

Issue:
1) In test i have issue when stay connect usb and activesync (4.5) and do soft reset, universal freeze.
2) If setting only gsm (in registry) and do soft reset a time non always, freeze.
For test i have installed only SpbPocketPlus with close X active, and disable x from wm6. Rom radio 1.15 less delay that 1.14 and old version.

Very nice and reliable release but bluetooth headset causes occasional phone hangings. Same problem on every wm6 rom i flashed. Best bluetooth stack for my headset is in helmi 3.5 1.3.1

The following is fe notes:
- the old office mobile icons (may be version, i don't know)
- The flight mode was not worked with me (closed all radios, but gsm didn't reactivate till i soft reset the jasjar)
- in a very few instances, the gprs was lost and a messeage that modem cannot be dialed come to me and i had to soft reset the device.
- once while the usb was connected, the devic freezed on incoming call.

With this rom I have strange situation with TomTom 6.01 - when I update 6.00 to 6.01 it says "no maps found" even if 6.00 was working fine and was with maps... Anyone noticed this problem???

Darkforce ROM (mine is WWE) is more stable than JW's (frequent lockups - don't know why). However, there are occasions when a sound alarm pops up, Uni hangs. One time softreset by poking the little hole will not normally get it to work only 4-5 times can resolve the frozen situation. Since it doesn't happen quite frequently (once per 2-3 days), I can do with it. Hope the upgrade will settle these issues.

Definitely the best WM6 ROM I've used so far! Great job!

My suggestion is that you not only unhide, but also unlock the Extended ROM. If you use some of the unlocking tools out there, they create a second folder called ExtendedROM, instead of unlocking the Extended_ROM. Which is a pain to deal with. The only thing that solved the problem was uni_ext_rom_unlock.exe which I found in this forum. It would be nice to have it unlocked already.

I noticed a couple of freeze when there is an incoming call and I only realised it when opening my universal and see the little box that pops up when there is a call.
Only solution is to reset

apart from this the rom is really nice

This is the best ROM among the others so far, at least i found it more stable and no sudden lockup. I've been using this ROM for few days and experiencing only one lock-up so far, in which I was using intensively, Surfing with IE, MSN Messenger and Skype with LAN and GPRS connected.

I would expect the new update could fix / enable the keyboard backlight sensor. There are one or two minior issues on Bluetooth connection, but cannot re-produce at this point. I will report again if i can re-produce the probelm tonight.

3. Include scarybears checknotifications.
You have the same problem with this rom as a few others have had.. the same reason why prolonged usage always fails. Everytime an alarm is set, or reset takes place, there is a script or clock.exe entry made.. I use scarybear to "reclaim" this memory... It makes a HUGE difference!

4. Unlock & Unhide ExtendedRom as default
I know this has been asked before, however.. Make a cab to Hide it again...

5. Date / Time on one line!

6. Bottom bar thoughts....
OK.. The today plugin is a great acheivment.... However... There are some people (like me) who use Psshut... this still makes a bottom bar! Therefore the plugin is useless for me.. In fact it wastes the space on my screen.
So.. either make a cab to "add back" the bottom bar icons for comm-manager, power, backlight and orientation, OR make the plugin so it can add the icons from other programs!

7. Fix keyboard backlight Issue.
I know its a nice idea to have it react to keypresses.. but they sort of built in a sensor so it knew when it was needed! Not quite sure why yours doesnt activate the sensor.. but hey!

8. Fix the small errors in Buttons!
Not a biggie, but the icons are wrong under the buttons menu, and the text is missing on a couple...



By no means a full list, but all i had time for..

Dont get me wrong.. The rom is STUNNING. Still very fast, very stable, and apart from a few niggles... great in all aspects..

First of all thank you all for taking the time to download and try this ROM. Your feedback is very important and will help us improve. Secondly, I would like to make some clarifications regarding this WM6 ROM.


This a WM6 ROM based on HTC Athena.
It is not a cooked ROM and therefore uses only HTC device default settings.
We will not make any changes to those default settings as this is not a cooked ROM.


So based on the above, please post only ROM bugs and problems for now. As useful as your suggestions are, we cannot implement them at this point. If you want to cook a ROM based on this ROM, you will have to wait until Bepe releases the Universal ROM Kitchen version he is working on.

Last but not least, we are making a list of the bugs reported thus far and we will try to retest and fix in new release so keep reporting them. :)

I've tested the ROM 2.10.2WWE with the Jabra 250v radio 1.15/ 1.14/ 1.13 and all has the same Bluetooth problem.
You can pair the Jabra 250v easily,
But when you make a call, nobody can listen to you, meanwhile you can listen the other person.
Have somebody any solution for this problem?

I still finding same problems as other roms for communication with Parrot. Looks a lack of the information transmited to the device and only if you use JetBTHFExt, as the signal intensity or the battery level.

yesterday i uploaded DarkForce ROM to my UNI and I have big problem ... when i want pickup call or when i am searching in smartdial it wil start long beeep sound and this sound stop until i will really call somebody ... it very baaad. Does anybody know what can i do with this ? I have only some applications loaded ... SPB SHell, TOmtom, SPB Diary and SKYPE nothing more ...

for smart dial i found small solution ... switch off dialpad sounds ... but it is not solution what i want :)))


SOLUTION : I am stupid :) . I set up sound for missed call as beep and it works that it beeeps forever :D ... i forgot it from night to morning when i had first missed call. So forget of this problem ... :)

Been using it for 3 days now, using a Nokia HS-12W headset with no problems, sound quality is adequate.

The only issue i have found is that the Speaker-mode does not work. I can hear the other party talking but the can't hear me, i think somehow the mic is still switched to non-speaker functionality ( a little bit sound does seem to seep through)

okay my feedback about this rom is great, very minimal hangs (there was non untill i installed Arabizer)

Software Installed
-Video Call (Had to correct the link manually to fix it)
-Pocket Plus 3.2 without today (just close function & battery meter)
-Arabizer (had to mix between new & old version to remove the "&" from all entries)
-Resco Explorer (only Eplorer & Registery Addin)
-Sim Switcher (for digital dual sim)

Confirgrations
-GPRS connections on both sim (works fine)
-MMS on signle sim (works fine but not tested the other)
-MS Exchange (Direct Push peaktimes, update every 4 hours off peak times)
-Sync by USB with PC & Exchange (Works fine)
-Sunc by GPRS with both operators (works fine)
-BT rarley used so i say it works good but no headset trials

I'm using DarkForce Rom 2.10.02 WWE. This rom is working very fast when compares with many other roms as JJ 2.02.00, 2.01.08 PDV ,... All softwares installed work well. At the same time I simultaneously connect Internet (with Wifi), listen good stetero music with bluetooth I Tech R35 and Lingvo Phrasebook Talking Dict.2007, all programs run fast and no any problem appears.

With bluetooth stereo I Tech R35, after you paired IT R35 with your device, you have to complete all parameters, after that you reset your device and wait until the stereo icon appears on screen, now you can hear anything you want with IT R35.

I have a simple test for a Uni running any ROM not supplied by the OEM supplier (in my case O2). The test is to enable Push Email & verify that this is working & then take a 20 - 30 minute trip across London on the underground. At various points the Uni will pick up a signal & lose it again as well as transfer from GPRS to 3G.

At the end of the trip I expect the Uni to sort out the connections & re-establish the push connection.

I tried this over the last 2 days with the Dark Force ROM & Radio 1.15 - the results were no better at the end of the journey than any other WM6 ROM in that the data connection was dropped & could not be re-opened. ActiveSync was trying to sync but errored with "Waiting for Network". The Uni thinks it has a data connection in Comm Mgr & this can not be ended. Turning the device to Flight Mode does not work, the phone can not be turned off from Comm Mgr.

Whilst in this state other things work on the Uni but even thought the phone has a signal inbound calls are not connected (straight to VM).

The final action of trying to stop Push email from Comm Mgr results in the spinning wheel in the middle of the screen that never stops & ultimately in a reset. After reset all works again.

I have no idea on the technical mechanics of what is happening other than to state that using the O2 ROM with Radio 1.09 works & works every time on this test.

I like the WM6 software, I use some of the features that are WM6 only and would hate to lose them, but the failure to operate in this environment is unacceptable & must be to do with the OS / Radio.

I have also had the experience of losing signal outside of London & not on the underground, the result is always the same, reset.

For now I leave Push email & data connections off when out of signal.

Does anyone think that this can be addressed by this community or are we going to have to live with it ?

(P.S. have tried with 2 devices to rule out h/w, clearly could be an O2 problem but I feel not as it works with their software).

Hi Dark, good ROM, stable, fast, and good on battery and ram. Few thigns missing as reported before me but I cna live with them. However, I cannot live without setting bluettoth com ports? such for GPS device and so on... I see no options at all in the com port screen for bluetooth. Otherwise I like it very mich but I need the com ports.

Has any1 else this omission?

The ROM is indeed excellent. Nice job done.

Currently the main items I would like to have fixed are the video-call (how to fix this by hand ?) and the light of the keyboard which seems to be on each time you hit a key. Is the ensor disabled ?
Can this be corrected by a register tweak ?

Almost all the time, when I switch of the phone part via Comm-Manager. the signal bar keeps searching (with the three points), while the phone is still disabled. Don't know if it's fixed yet...

OK. Again some thoughts here and there....

- Seems different people in different regions have different problems.
- Any signal, missed calls, no reception etc are Radio related, so try another Radio version.

- Based on Athena, not for Athena. We do not have HTC Athena on our hands so it would be impossible to make and test ROMs for it unless we use our psychic powers. And you know... mine are kinda blocked these days because of Saturn entering a new phase in the zodiac circle.

- Video call is a major problem at the moment. They are working on fixing it but I am not sure we will have any results. In fact I'd rather they spend their energy making a bug free ROM than countless hours trying to make videocall work, how many of you use it that often anyway. Sure I'd like to have it but my priorities are stability and ease of use.

- Keyboard light resolved

- Band problem resolved

- Don't ask me when you will get a new version because the answer will always be the same. When it's ready.

What about bluetooth switching off randomly? While driving you need a headset and cannot keep checking if bluetooth is still active seen that the led is flashing even when bluetooth is off.

One this I notice on your ron is that it does not support .jar .jad, so including a Midlet Mannager would be great.

BTW, a spanish version too. what should I translate, as I am native spanish?

Hi, this is really good ROM, very fast.
I'm with this one "WM6_21002_WWE_11500"
I have one problem for now (just 2 day with it :) ), when I try to change the network type from auto to GSM ( just try to disable 3G), every time I see the massage :
Warning: Unable to change GSM/UMTS Band, Please try again later.
I try to switch off phone from Comm Manager and then change to GSM mode, but the result was the same massage....
I was loosing network before installing "HTC_UNIVERSAL_VIDEO_CALL.CAB", but now it seems everything to be fine, because on auto mode, the phone switch to 3G network automatically...

Can anyone help me with this issue ?

This is a problem with most "newer" build wm6 versions.

If you install "profiles for windows" the problem is solved.

I'm running darkforce_WM6_21002_WWE_11500, having a problem with email attachments being corrupted, also inline images in HTML emails. Is there a fix?

- I installed darkforce 3 days ago. it was working fine wen suddenly one day it hung...
i had to restart it.
- Sometimes wen i receive a incoming call it just vibrates and i cannot receive d call then again i hav to restart it.
- wen connecting to my gprs service, it just shows connecting but doesn't connect...... wat's goin' wrong???
hope this would be cleared in d next release...
eagarly waiting 4 d next release...
Can you tell me wen's d next rel will be released???

1) internet connection via bt=yes
2) work as a phone =yes
3) stable=the most
4) memory leaks=no

downside -cannot use data connection outside uk

I just tried out the rom to put in for Windows Phone 7 on my HTC HD2 and now i'm trying to remove it and get back to my Android. Is there a way for me to do this. I would love your quick response. I'm scared :(

You are in HTC Universal section, this ROM is not working on any other device, have a read on your device proper section
