I see you are trying to flash through Windows Vista,it won't work.Vista has still got driver problems,therefore,WinXP SP2 is always recommended to flash your phone.So flash through WinXP,you'll have no problems.

But if you still want to use Win Vista than read this guide,it might help :-

secondly,always post the vital data of your phone,IPL...?, SPL...? OS version...?, prior to posting it helps others to verify the DOC chip version of your phone and advise you correctly

Thirdly,have you got your phone SIM/CID unlocked,cuz it's necessary to have your phone SIM/CID unlock before upgrading,otherwise,you'll either "Brick" your device or run it into various problems,ok

I just wanted to put a thanks to all the users out there. I came into this site and knew very little. Through reading all the posts and alot of reading and I do mean alot I got my 8125 with WM6 and working great.

I know that this is done eveyday or minute around here but now I am hooked on all the things I can do with this phone. Couldnt have done it all without all the work and posts by everyone. Awesome Site.

You can't flash a touched OS that way in a CID-locked G4.... only some 2.26 roms will work. Trying this with WM6 will go to 100%, but you're "old" OS will startup again.

Can someone expand on the post that I quoted above?
I have a CID-Locked G4 with IPL/SPL 2.25.0001 and I seem to be having this exact issue when attempting to use the shelltool to apply only the WM6 OS onto my G4.

I start with a fresh stock ROM flashed onto the G4, then install the Cert_SPCS (1st) and Enablerapi (2nd) cabs, then wait a few minutes and reboot the phone.

I ensure that the ActiveSync connection is established, then start up Shelltool and extract the OS from the nbf file. I flash the OS, which does NOT take the full 15 minutes, more like 4-5. Then get the end message in Shelltool.

After doing the hard reset however the OS v still reads 2.26, which I assume should be a 5.xx number.

The phone stays stuck on the initial loading screen that lists your IPL/SPL and OS versions.

I've been able to repeat this failed flash a few times now.

Any tips?


Update: Well after adjusting a few steps I was able to get this phone flashed twice in a row successfully.
A step that I don't think was expressed enough is a reboot, then soft reset after installing Cert_spcs and Enablerapi.
Before I was only rebooting, with no soft reset.

Also I had an error with timewizard.exe and ssdeamon (misspelled maybe) were throwing errors on start-up/wake up. On the suggestion of another thread clearing the storage fixed these errors, and I seem to be up 100% on XM6R3. Awesome!

Anyone have suggestions of other flavors of Wm6 to try?

ok i need help. i've read through this post and the CID unlocking post and haven't gotten anything to work. My device is a G3 8125, IPL/SPL is 2.25
From what i understand, i need to flash the Button 1.05 Rom, then CID unlock... but i can't flash the Button Rom it fails.
so i tried CID unlocking and i'm sure if it is working or not.
i've tried the phone in Bootloader mode and turned on normally. i'm also using Vista.
any help would be appreciated.

i want to flash my ROM, too, and my hope was your "manual" above helps me, because the flasher crashed on Vista. I have download the WM6-ROM from ANTC.

Now i´ve take a look at my IPL and SPL and see that my Version is 3.08.

After having flashed the ROM on a wizard or any device, is there any way to revert back to the factory install if not happy, or once flashed the new version cannot be changed?

Thinking about buying the tytnII but is blocked with a certain operator, and doesnt come with tom tom. Would I be able to flash the device with the original factory HTC rom?

and now sometimes my internet connection doest want to work...

Anyway I had a Qtek 9100 with original Sweden ROM and it was 2.17 ROM.
Going to wizard_LOVE ROM was inutile because i could not CID unlock, I got an ITWrite Error.
Following Dr. Putingam's steps, that here were referenced, I have put the Button ROM 1.05 than and only then i could CID unlock.
After it was a baby thing to do ;).
I had problems with rapidshare but you know the thing called Google Search, it gave me this http://www.dannygaron.com/PDA_files/
there you can find the button ROM T-Mobile Rom 2.26 latest lokiwiz and do you need anything else (at least for G3).

I got a problem here, my wizard is stuck at bootloader (rom doesn't boot anymore:( ). It was said that this is were you flash your roms, but al of the rom update utils say you have to have activesync connections, but since i cant boot the device properly i cant flash them that way :confused:... how can i flash roms in the bootloader screen???

Just connect the USB cord up and you will see USB in the bottom left show up (ActiveSync will NOT recognize your device, but thats fine). Now flash the Official Cingular ROM (you can find it on the HTC America website). Once you get it back up and running, then (and only then) go through the CID Unlock procedure (and don't skip steps).

Please advise. Should I trust this Hermes Black Cabs? If so, how should I go about installing it? If the transcriber issue has been addressed in some medium more substantial than a patch, i.e., a more recent release of XM6, then which one do you recommend?

I don't put Transcrber in my roms as most people don't use it. If you want it just copy that cab file to your phone and run it from file explorer or total commander. You'll then have transcriber back.

As for roms, look for XM6r5 to be released very soon (less than 24 hours from now). Still no transcriber, but stable like XM6r3.

I got a Imate Jamin and I followed the steps but after I flashed the phone with the button rom it completed at 100 % but then it restarted and now the screen just blinks there is no other response also tried to remove the battery and restart but no hopes ? Have I crashed the phone?

a bit of help if anyone can, i've sim unlocked and cid unlocked my o2 xda mini s (wizard 200 if you like) and tried going through the motions of upgrading to wm6 with both the tools mentioned in the tutorial button's 1.05 ROM and Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102 and each one finds the phone fine and agrees to do the update it goes as far as trying to do the update and then crashes before even attempting the update anyone got any idea's i'm using vista as my op system cheers mike

Finally got a replacement. And it was ages since I had flashed it or followed up on developments in this forum (the ROM listed here is the last ROM I ever used with my old Wizard).

So - I tried flashing with OCTAIVOI v6, and it froze at 85%. I then tried to downgrade, but still problems. Read this post and followed everything, and things look good! Yikes - You would not have wanted to seen my face lastnight at midnight when I was beginning to think I had bricked it!!!

So - I have not yet checked out WM6. I will be reading up, but would love it if someone shared some advice!

So ive recently began reading up on upgrading my wizard to a nice wm6 rom. im interested in a stable touch rom, ive narrowed it down to a couple (mostly TNT, OCTAIVOI and NBD). ive read a couple of posts mentioning a specific rom using a specific radio, to insure stablitity. I want the bling in my phone but with most stability i can get. So overall this confused me a little bit. i ran a search and couldnt find anything.

the question is: im assuming when you flash a rom, theres a radio included in it. but when people use a specific radio, how is that done. Do they flash the radio after the rom or vice versa?

heres an example. i looked at the TNT.1933, it is mentioned that 2.19.11 UK is the most stable. is that radio included in the rom or is it a recommendation? if its not included how do you flash it?

I've got a lot of post behind my name, but most of my posts are answers to the same questions over and over again. It seems very hard for "noobs" to find the answer to their question quickly on the forum. I quickly wrote a little step by step tutorial for them. Hope it helps!

Suggestions or corrections are always welcome.

You want to flash your wizard, but don't know where to start. Try this:

0. First determine if you got a G3 or a G4 device. When you turn on your device from can can see you're IPL and SPL version on the screen. If you got IPL/SPL 1.xx or 2.xx you've got a G3 device. If the IPL/SPL shows 2.xx.xxx1 you've got a G4. Go to step G3.1 if you got a G3 and G4.1 if G4.

G3.1 Does you're device start normally (yes) or is it stuck on the three-colored bootloader screen (no)? YES... go to step G3.5, NO go to step G3.2

G3.2 Turn off you're device totaly. Remove the SD card and disconnect the USB cable from you're device. Turn on the device while holding the camera button. You will get into bootloader mode (3 colored screen). Connect the USB cable to the computer and you will see USB at the bottom of your screen above the left softkey (Activesync will not connect in bootloader mode, but you can flash from this screen!). If you got IPL/SPL 1.xx go to G3.3. If you got 2.xx go to G3.4

G3.3 Download button rom (http://rapidshare.com/files/18212239/CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe.h tml) and flash it to your device. Your device should startup again after doing this. Go to G3.5.

G3.4 Download wizard_love rom (http://rapidshare.com/files/17792050/Wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WWE_Novii_CF2.rar) and flash it to your device. Your device should startup again after doing this. Go to G3.5.

G3.5 Is your device CID-unlocked (note: it's not the same as SIM-unlocked!)? YES... go to step G3.7, NO OR DON'T KNOW go to step G3.6.

G3.6 Follow this great thread by Dr Puttingham: The Definitive Guide to Unlocking & Rom Upgrading G3 Wizards (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285435). Don't skip step 17! Flash the T-Mobile 2.26 Rom! Go to step G3.8 if you got the T-Mobile rom with IPL/SPL 2.26 on your device after doing this.

NOTE: Some people seem to have problem with flashing the button rom in this step (stops at 98% with error 302). Replace button_rom with Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102 (http://rapidshare.com/files/43423464/Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102.exe) and follow the rest of the steps normally when this happens!

G3.7 Download T-Mobile 2.26 rom (http://rapidshare.com/files/38880130/ruu_prodigy_226102_22610105_022511_tmous_wwe_ship. exe.html) and flash it to your device! Done? Go to step G3.8.

G3.8 You're reade to flash the AKU2, AKU3, WM6 rom of you're choise! It wasn't that hard, was it? If you still got an older OS version after flashing then you're not CID-unlocked! Go back to start!

G4.1 Does you're device start normally (yes) or is it stuck on the three-colored bootloader screen (no)? YES... go to step G4.4, NO go to step G4.2

G4.2 Turn off you're device totaly. Remove the SD card and disconnect the USB cable from you're device. Turn on the device while holding the camera button. You will get into bootloader mode (3 colored screen). Connect the USB cable to the computer and you will see USB at the bottom of your screen above the left softkey (Activesync will not connect in bootloader mode, but you can flash from this screen!). go to G4.3

G4.4 Is your device CID-unlocked (note: it's not the same as SIM-unlocked!)? YES... go to step G4.7, NO OR DON'T KNOW go to step G4.5. (note: CID-unlocking a G4 is only possible by paying for it at imei-check (http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m3000unlock.php)!)

G4.5 Download enable-rapi.zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=46098&d=1186268099). Transfer Cert_SPCS.cab and EnableRapi.cab to your phone. Run Cert_SPCS.cab FIRST and EnableRapi.cab SECOND. Turn your device off and on or wait 5 minutes before soft resetting. Done? Go to G4.6.

G4.6 Follow this great thread by the-equinoxe: [solution] G4 SoftSPL Flash any ROM to CID locked G4 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329147) and load the softSPL on your device using his method. Make sure you take a G4 safe rom (see the thread for details). After the steps you'll have the rom of your choise on your device!

[U]G4.7 You're reade to flash the AKU2, AKU3, WM6 rom of you're choise IF the rom DOESN'T contain IPL/SPL. AKU3 and WM6 roms normally don't contain IPL/SPL. If you want to flash an AKU2 rom, make sure you take the G4 version. If you get an error 300 (invalid update tool) while trying to flash your device look at this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291215) thread!

NOTE: If you tried to flash a G3 rom with IPL/SPL in the rom on a G4 you probably will have a bricked device! DON'T flash the new 3.08 and 3.09 IPL/SPL to your G4!

NOTE2: If you got problems flashing with softSPL: Follow this great thread by mun_rus: Solutuion found: how to flash any rom to CIDLOCKED DEVICE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293480). If your device won't start after flashing you can use step G4.2 and G4.3 and try again. Been at this for a few days now, I read dang near the whole thread. I have a G3 MDA, that I had upgraded to the official Tmob 2.26 IPL/SPL (w/out unlocking). Anyway, I have never been able to get the button rom to install correctly it always gets stuck at 98% sometimes the % on the PC will go to 99% sometimes not, but it never finishes either way.

I tried substituting the alternate ROM stated in the instructions, it flashes okay, but it doesn't downgrade the SPL, I also couldn't ever get Lokiwiz0.2a to work to CID unlock the device (it always gives some error in the dos screen, sorry I don't have it handy to help you help me). But I tried Lokiwiz0.3a and it worked, but I had to put in another sim to make it prompt me to enter the code, so I think it is CID unlocked but I still can't downgrade my SPL...

I read somewhere about deleting your temp file and running chkdisk if you have trouble installing roms (button), does that work?

So presently I have IPL 1.05 SPL 2.26 and I believe that my phone is sim/cid unlocked but I can't downgrade the SPL and I can't upgrade to WM6 (I have tried and it flashes the bootscreen but not the OS).

Any help with flashing the button rom or ways to downgrade the SPL would be fantastic!

I know that even before I tried unlocking my phone and was just installing the 2.26 TMob rom over the OEM rom, sometimes the flash process just fails.

Just keep trying and it should work sooner or later.

I need a complete rom dump to a sd card. Can someone help a brother out? I've tried wizard love rom.. everything. nothing is working. computer said everything was complete

phone was stuck on 99%, left for 10 minutes and nothing happened.

now phone starts in boot mode, wont hard reset, and isn't recognized by the computer to attempt a wizard_love flash

Did you get your phone CID unlocked before flashing t-mobile 2.26 ? if you didn't perform CID unlock,as T-mobile 2.26 is also an official carrier rom,will install and only upgrade to T-mobile Rom and work, ok.
But if you want to upgrade to any wm6 Roms like the one TNT 1933,you got to have your phone CID unlock it. So read and follow the sticky by Dr.Puttingham to CID unlock and upgrade to any wm6 Roms.
Secondly,its recommended to flash using winXP,as its more stable and trouble free.Winvista has problems.

It's not possible to make 'r2sd all' rom dump and upload and download to a phone or flash. "r2sd" rom dump is a backup made to a mini Sdcard only and you can only use it when that mini Sdcard is inserted into a phone and while in bootloaders you can reflash that Rom backup to a phone.
Therefore, try to revive your phone by flashing official rom to your phone,as it's stuck up in bootloaders,its not dead or bricked,ok

please help me... I unblock my qtek 9100 with the hardspl G4... everything went well.... but when I am going insatl the rom he appears the error [300]: invalid update tool. I already tried to use RUU_no_id that generates the error [240]: file open, I already tried to use the ruu mun that generates the same error....! I don't know more the than to do....I got to only install the Rom Crossbow by Faria.

Post vital data of your phone like IPL/SPL....?

'Rom Crossbow by Faria' is an custom old Rom,its not an official and wm6 Rom,maybe its older then the present official Rom on your phone,so its not accepting.Try to download any latest custom build wm6 Roms like XM6r5 or TNT 1933,hope it'll work.

Got a nasty problem here! I dont remember KJam was CID unlocked or not. It had T-Mobile Rom with IPL and SPL 2.xx, I flashed it with WM6 Rom and IPL changed to 1.xx but SPL remained same and the device remained stuck on first splash screen, I soft reseted it a couple of times but the result was same then I removed the battery for 10 minutes and when I tried to power it on again it never booted. Now the phone is bricked, it doesn't goes even in bootloader mode! What to do? Please help...

I had similar issues first time out and there were two issues for me

1. I had not removed my settings from activsync. Need to remove all partnerships - and make sure you cancel the set up request and sign is as a guest.

2. PC is hooked up to a wireless router. Once I disconnected the cable wire from the PC, the error went away.....

I've been flashing all these great roms

If you got IPL/SPL 1.xx or 2.xx you've got a G3 device. If the IPL/SPL shows 2.xx.xxx1 you've got a G4.



Is the number of digits important, or if the last digit is a "1" to determine which version you have?

i'm newb, i flashed my first Wiza200 (G4) with wm6 rom and all is ok (thanks to faria)
now my second pda is a MDA T-mobile (G3 i think : IPL and SPL = 1.03). i tried to upgrade with TNT.19199 Series wm6 rom (it's right : senior member) even cid unlock, it does'nt work (stoped at 99%) when upgrading with old rom (on windows XP) i get my old T-mobile ROM wm5. now i'v got another problem i'v only vista on my pc and the upgrade utility for vista don't work it's stop after ppc reboot to RUU mode. is there an upgrade utility working on vista ?

now my spl is 1.03.0000 ??? huh ???? with ipl 1.03 ( is it normal ?)

i am using o2 xda 2 from quite sometime and having wm5 working perfectly well, now i want flash wm6(xplode_1) which i have downloaded from this site, every time i install i get the error message 222. although device is perfectly synced to cradle. frankly speaking ! am not much knowledgable about these gizmos. so can someone help me giving me the clear infornation about how to install xplode_1. plz from scratch. do i have to pre-install any thing else to run xplode. plz details reply will be highly appreciated.

I have the 8125 g3 version
On your directions it says you can change them to ipl/spl 3.08
so i changed them .
when i installed the cingular rom it reset them both to 2.25
so i reran the ipl/spl 3.08
Then installed the new rom
My question is should i have done that or left them at 2.25
The upgraded rom didn,t change them.

It does seem to not recieve calls sometimes is that because of this or not

Now,get into Bootloaders (tricolor screen) and either flash the T-mobile 2.26 rom or official carrier Rom to recover back and check with 'WST_4.2.2' tool the CID lock/unlock status than do according to the guide.

I did get it unlocked so i will try and flash the T-Mobile rom.

Just another idea:

If you have Windows Vista, you can allways use VMware with a virtual machine in XP. It worked for me!!!!!!

i got a vodafone one from ebay, just to try this out, and it didn't worked.
after 3 weeks i figured out that the battery was not good enough to flash, so i got a new one, and now it works great.

so make sure you have a good battery and fully charged.

Man it is an HTC Universal not a wizard do you upload your universal with a rom from HTC wizard?
can you put it on bootloader? a mean a black screen that say serial and a version on bottom?

If my t-mo MDA already has 2.26 installed while locked, why would I need to go back to 1.05 and reinstall to 2.26?

Goal is to flash the Faria wm6.1 wizard rom in the end.

Simple answer to this is that you require a CID unlocked phone and IPL/SPL 2.xx atleast, to upgrade to any wm6 rom,and to CID unlock you have to downgrade to 1.xx,only than its possible to CID unlock.So after downgrading to IPL/SPL 1.xx and performing CID unlock,its must to upgrade to 2.xx for upgrading to wm6 rom.

I did it, after some trial and lots of error, I was able to CID unlock my phone, and install a custom rom.Guess it was a little to easy, as such I had the need to complicate the proceedure. Lol........:o

As a 42 yr old, with little to no training in computers beyond DOS. You have know idea of how happy I was to see that wonderful black screen.

Next is to try a kitchen, and then to open up and learn the actual code.

Neither is working. I am using a windows vista computer trying to flash a ROM to my G4 wizard. I believe i have a G4 because my spl or w.e its called is 2.26.0001.

Everything in the beginning goes well except for after the splsoft loads and the screen goes white. The rom utility starts and then says something about an error and closes. My device screen stays white. However, its not bricked and remains uneffected. If anyone knows what i am doing wrong, then please let me know. I wanna upgrade my t-mobile mda to wm6.

Simple answer to all of your problems is don't do it on Vista,its still not compatible for flashing,WinXP is highly recommended.
Secondly,as you say its G4 device,it can only be upgraded through either 'SoftSPL' or 'HardSPL',read about these methods in the 'G4' sub-forum.

For my Qtek A9100, G4 wtih WM5 AKU2 the procedure was the following:

- First I installed the CID/SIM unlock tool "hard SPL" from Equinoxe
- Then I had to use the Mun/Faria RUU, because all other RUU's gave an error 300 message
- Tested 4 ROM before choosing one
- I flashed with an XP Tablet PC 2005, SP3, firewall disabled

The GSM radio works clearly better with the Equinoxe IPL/SPL's, despite being lower versions.

However, there are some minor issues. I had to call movistar to get the data configuration. After the HTC Home installation, the system refused to activate it. And there is an splash screen left from the TNT installation, but I'm not using that ROM.

Try these :

1. Taping accurate on the points and tap little hard........

2. Press by you finger on the points.

When you tap on the point, will the point move?

I'm still a noob..so be nice..(I moved this question from a different thread)
I was using dferreiras WM5SE so I was able to update from my factory ROM in the past.
Now trying to go to WM6.1, I'm trying JVDSpank's rom and others.
The first thing I tried was just down grading back to the T-mobile 2.26 rom that went fine :) and then tried flashing both by active sync as a guest and then from boot loader.
Both ways I received a error of either [264] from bootloader or [208] from active sync.:mad:
I decided to start from the beginning, went back to the Button rom, got the beer glass, ran lokiwiz to to SIM and CID unlock (even though I read you shouldn't have to) and reflashed the t-mobile rom.
Tried flashing both new RUU's at different times and still errored out. :confused:
What am I missing? :confused: I'm sure its something that I will be kicking myself.
I see many members flashing this rom, so I know its me.

G3.8 You're reade to flash the AKU2, AKU3, WM6 rom of you're choise! It wasn't that hard, was it? If you still got an older OS version after flashing then you're not CID-unlocked! Go back to start!

First let me say I have read many remarks and comments. I'm trying to upgrade my wizard to any rom just to try. The problem is I have no idea where I'm going wrong. I have sim and cid unlocked my phone. Using the uploader tool, I am able run the button rom with beer glass showing, and also the tmobile official rom ( back and forth between the two, many times.) So I must be doing something right. The problem is when I try and upgrade to another rom nothing happens, it just reboots to one of the aformentioned roms. I see the different roms have other things in the files. Do I run those first before I run the rom or what? Sorry to ask this question. Please no rude remarks, I'm trying. I just want to try out one of the newer roms. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

First let me say I have read many remarks and comments. I'm trying to upgrade my wizard to any rom just to try. The problem is I have no idea where I'm going wrong. I have sim and cid unlocked my phone. Using the uploader tool, I am able run the button rom with beer glass showing, and also the tmobile official rom ( back and forth between the two, many times.) So I must be doing something right. The problem is when I try and upgrade to another rom nothing happens, it just reboots to one of the aformentioned roms. I see the different roms have other things in the files. Do I run those first before I run the rom or what? Sorry to ask this question. Please no rude remarks, I'm trying. I just want to try out one of the newer roms. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Download WST_4.2.2 Tool and run the 'CID Action' button to verify the CID lock/unlock status,perhaps your phone is still CID locked.It won't upgrade to latest wm6 roms,unless its CID unlocked.

Thanx for response zabardast. I already used the WST tool and it confirmed my wizard is cid and sim unlocked. Like I said before, I can go back and forth between the button rom and tmobile rom. But, when I try to upgrade to any other rom. Nothing! It's driving me crazy, any help please.

I tried to use soft SPL on my wiza200 and at 24 percent my pc rebooted for some reason and now the unit does not want to switch on at all. Is the unit bricked or is there any way i can get it switched on or revived?

I was going to try out some manilla 2d stuff since the TNT It's Right seems to be going bad on me. I had the rom in a folder (luckily, as the original link is down). I put it up here, I don't know how long it will stay. Supposedly it can only be downloaded sequentially (one IP at a time), and if no one downloads it in 30 days, it gets deleted.

As is obvious this is my first post here. (Sorry if it's in the wrong place):rolleyes:
What I felt I needed to do though is to thank every one here for all of the indirect help and the direct resources you have provided on this forum. With your help I was able to learn how to unlock and flash my phone and now I'm going through the veritable candy store of roms here looking for the ones I like the best. Unfortunately I am one of the millions of recent unemployed and am unable to donate money yet, but I wonder if there might be another way to help support the dev teams here. PM me if I can. I'm also interested in becoming more directly involved with rom development but I probably need a bit of training up on the subject(s) though. Does the forum at large have any recommendations on Actually building ROMs and where i should go to start learning?

try with another USB cable, perhaps yours is broken (i hpe is just it)
perhaps the pin connectors are broken...(is fixeable)

It will have the last flashed rom. So in your case the new rom.-

The person who tried to upgrade his 8125 has got into some problem in uploading a new version to his 8125 & finally he worked it out. But now the phone has crazy IPL & SPL like IPL-1.01 & SPL-3.08. Therefore, can anyone tell me how to make this normal again???

Because of this I can't figure out whether the device is a G3 or G4 device......

Sorry to say that, your language isn't so good. But I can understand. :)

Is your device hardspl flashed before?

YES ( CID Unlocked ) : Enter into bootloader ( 3 colored screen or the rgb screen ); connect the device to pc and wait for few sec ( Sometimes drivers will be performing installation ); run the ruu and flash the rom ( Don't care about active sync, it doesn't connect but ruu can flash without it in bootloader )

NO ( CID locked ) : Flash the official rom which is dependent to your device make. i.e if your device is qtek you have to flash qtek rom. I think official roms are rearly available since the device is old. If so, request and someone will surely share. by the way, you can also try wizard love rom but I'm not sure that it will work on cid locked device.

Alright I give up trying to figure out what's going on. When I connect my MDA to windows device reader it connects fine, not partnered. But when I run Button or Wizard Love, windows (vista 64bit) just says program has stopped responding as soon as it goes into bootloader and kills the program. I've flashed plenty of roms before, even flashed one today on my friends touch pro, but I have no clue why it's not working for me right now, any ideas?

If your IPL is 1.05 and your SPL is 2.25, then you have a G3 device and you should go with G3. steps. It means do all the steps from G3.1 to G3.x .

Which device you have ( G3 or G4 )? Confirm it first. If you device is already SIM unlocked then no need to unlock it again, just skip it. :)

I've got a lot of post behind my name, but most of my posts are answers to the same questions over and over again. It seems very hard for "noobs" to find the answer to their question quickly on the forum. I quickly wrote a little step by step tutorial for them. Hope it helps!

Suggestions or corrections are always welcome.

You want to flash your wizard, but don't know where to start. Try this:

0. First determine if you got a G3 or a G4 device. When you turn on your device from can can see you're IPL and SPL version on the screen. If you got IPL/SPL 1.xx or 2.xx you've got a G3 device. If the IPL/SPL shows 2.xx.xxx1 you've got a G4. Go to step G3.1 if you got a G3 and G4.1 if G4.

G3.1 Does you're device start normally (yes) or is it stuck on the three-colored bootloader screen (no)? YES... go to step G3.5, NO go to step G3.2

G3.2 Turn off you're device totaly. Remove the SD card and disconnect the USB cable from you're device. Turn on the device while holding the camera button. You will get into bootloader mode (3 colored screen). Connect the USB cable to the computer and you will see USB at the bottom of your screen above the left softkey (Activesync will not connect in bootloader mode, but you can flash from this screen!). If you got IPL/SPL 1.xx go to G3.3. If you got 2.xx go to G3.4

G3.3 Download button rom (http://rapidshare.com/files/18212239/CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe.h tml) and flash it to your device. Your device should startup again after doing this. Go to G3.5.

G3.4 Download wizard_love rom (http://rapidshare.com/files/17792050/Wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WWE_Novii_CF2.rar) and flash it to your device. Your device should startup again after doing this. Go to G3.5.

G3.5 Is your device CID-unlocked (note: it's not the same as SIM-unlocked!)? YES... go to step G3.7, NO OR DON'T KNOW go to step G3.6.

G3.6 Follow this great thread by Dr Puttingham: The Definitive Guide to Unlocking & Rom Upgrading G3 Wizards (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285435). Don't skip step 17! Flash the T-Mobile 2.26 Rom! Go to step G3.8 if you got the T-Mobile rom with IPL/SPL 2.26 on your device after doing this.

NOTE: Some people seem to have problem with flashing the button rom in this step (stops at 98% with error 302). Replace button_rom with Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102 (http://rapidshare.com/files/43423464/Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102.exe) and follow the rest of the steps normally when this happens!

G3.7 Download T-Mobile 2.26 rom (http://rapidshare.com/files/38880130/ruu_prodigy_226102_22610105_022511_tmous_wwe_ship. exe.html) and flash it to your device! Done? Go to step G3.8.

G3.8 You're reade to flash the AKU2, AKU3, WM6 rom of you're choise! It wasn't that hard, was it? If you still got an older OS version after flashing then you're not CID-unlocked! Go back to start!

G4.1 Does you're device start normally (yes) or is it stuck on the three-colored bootloader screen (no)? YES... go to step G4.4, NO go to step G4.2

G4.2 Turn off you're device totaly. Remove the SD card and disconnect the USB cable from you're device. Turn on the device while holding the camera button. You will get into bootloader mode (3 colored screen). Connect the USB cable to the computer and you will see USB at the bottom of your screen above the left softkey (Activesync will not connect in bootloader mode, but you can flash from this screen!). go to G4.3

G4.3 Download wizard_love rom (http://rapidshare.com/files/17792050/Wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WWE_Novii_CF2.rar) and flash it to your device. Your device should startup again after doing this. Go to G4.4.

G4.4 Is your device CID-unlocked (note: it's not the same as SIM-unlocked!)? YES... go to step G4.7, NO OR DON'T KNOW go to step G4.5. (note: CID-unlocking a G4 is only possible by paying for it at imei-check (http://www.imei-check.co.uk/m3000unlock.php)!)

G4.5 Download enable-rapi.zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=46098&d=1186268099). Transfer Cert_SPCS.cab and EnableRapi.cab to your phone. Run Cert_SPCS.cab FIRST and EnableRapi.cab SECOND. Turn your device off and on or wait 5 minutes before soft resetting. Done? Go to G4.6.

G4.6 Follow this great thread by the-equinoxe: [solution] G4 SoftSPL Flash any ROM to CID locked G4 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329147) and load the softSPL on your device using his method. Make sure you take a G4 safe rom (see the thread for details). After the steps you'll have the rom of your choise on your device!

[U]G4.7 You're reade to flash the AKU2, AKU3, WM6 rom of you're choise IF the rom DOESN'T contain IPL/SPL. AKU3 and WM6 roms normally don't contain IPL/SPL. If you want to flash an AKU2 rom, make sure you take the G4 version. If you get an error 300 (invalid update tool) while trying to flash your device look at this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=291215) thread!

NOTE: If you tried to flash a G3 rom with IPL/SPL in the rom on a G4 you probably will have a bricked device! DON'T flash the new 3.08 and 3.09 IPL/SPL to your G4!

NOTE2: If you got problems flashing with softSPL: Follow this great thread by mun_rus: Solutuion found: how to flash any rom to CIDLOCKED DEVICE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293480). If your device won't start after flashing you can use step G4.2 and G4.3 and try again. Also look at this thread by eddieitman: Faria G4 Step by step installer with instructions (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298967) to make sure you did all the necessary steps!

Setup seems to go OK - after the initial setup, it shows a quick screen that looks like the 'copying over a file', very quickly, then reboots. It then boots up 'fine' (I think) but the phone doesn't work, no sounds work, the USB and power doesn't 'work' - no light comes on when I plug USB in, and it even takes like 2 minutes from when I hit the connection manager button for it to bring up the connection manager screen. Phone says No Service.

Tried it twice now, just reflashed it to Button Rom - IPL and SPL 1.01, IIRC.

Well, tried everything AGAIN, this time included the 'optional' step of upgrading to 3.08 IPL / SPL. That seems to be the not so optional step. Works now like a charm! :)

hy. the problem of mine that I refreshed it G4, this ruin was on him: MDA_software_update_226102_22610105_022511 and I did nothing before it, and now gets stuck in the menu with 3 colours. IPL:2.26 it SPL: 2.g4.4pda. I rehearsed everything, Wizard Love but nothing already not good. please help me!

Hey thanks mate but i have found one (i posted the link in my above post without WWW cause i cant post the complete link here) . :)

Yea i have done all the homework (G3 devise - Unlocked CID myself) and have upgraded to WM 6.5 on my wizard.

But the rom is quit slow.

Anyways i will be trying different roms from now on. Fun stuff. lol

i have tried to reflash the same ROM as my device restarts while using TOMTOM.

i went on flashing without going to bootloader mode, connected device to usb and start flashing. it went restart at some point.

Now it stuck in bootloader mode showing
IPL: 2.26
SPL: 2.26
RUU on top right
usb on bottom left (when i connect)
CID unlocked

i have tried same ROM as above and button rom ( CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE) from step G3.3 but every time device starts while flushing the ROM. some times at 95% or 35%.

Any help what shall i do.

try this button rom http://www.llamalord.net/Phone8125/Wizard_Button_Rom.exe ;) it works for me! then check with this tool "WST WIZARD SERVICE TOOL" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329170) is your device CID Unlocked! If not, use this tool to unlock it. ;) next step is http://www.llamalord.net/Phone8125/RUU_Wizard_225111_22511102_022511_CWS_WWE_Ship_1.e xe flash your phone with Tmobile-rom SPL/IPL 2.26....and that's it! Good Luck and sry 4 bad eng!

Hi all! I have a cingular 8125 and i want to upgrade my cur. wm5 to wm 6. i've read about the process from vippie's topic. since idk if my phone CID-unlocked or not, I used this thread to make sure, but i encountered a problem - when i'm trying to run CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe, or Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102.exe : they start ok: I connect my phone, activesync sees it, i run one of those updates, they also see htc, but after i confirm all radiobuttons and press to update, wizard just shut-downs instantly and thereby update shows "communication error"...
Does anybody know what is the problem and how to fix it?

well, everything worked! what i did is that i removed my sd card from phone and deleted phone-pc partnership (for some reason cant edit my previous post)

This will not work for you.
Not only that, why in the world would even think you could put a wizard ROM on an HD2?
There is nothing on the forums that would lead anyone to believe that a ROM from one device will work on another.
You need to be asking for help in the HD2 section.

Hi. I have Cingular 8125 and it freeze every time I turn on. The IPL/SPL is 2.25. Two things I am looking help with.

1. The wizard_love ROM is not available at the rapid share link. Can I get anywhere else..?
2. If I can't get the wizard_love, is it worth to try flashing with push_button ROM..?

Hi Guys,
I bought my phone in the UK, and have moved to Australia. I dont want to use it with TMobile UK, because it will cost me a fortune, and I'd like to use a local carrier (eg Telstra).

So I started trying to use the lokiwiz tool.

I started running lokiwiz2b, and found it didnt work. Then I think I figured out I was running the wrong version of lokiwiz, because I checked my phone, and its the following:

Wm 6.5

IPL 3.15.0001
SPL 3.15.0000
GSM 03.06.90
OS 3.15.0.0

The IPL / SPL seem like they're too new for this version of the tool. Could someone please assist?

One thing I've found is since the Mods split the WM6 stuff to a seperate forum a lot of noobs are in that forum and they don't see the stickies over here now (I've had a couple PM me directly asking where this Wizard Upgrading forum is at that I refer to in my posts :rolleyes: ). So I think we need some stickies like this or something in the WM6 forum (or a sticky at the top of that forum with a pointer to this forum and maybe certain posts over here).
