I've been lurking for a while now and I have searched and searched. I've done every registry hack listed in the wiki, but I still can't get my keyboard mapping correct. When I hit the blue circle and F I get - instead of ?. There are a few others that are wrong as well. This all started after I upgraded to Windows Mobile VI - BLACK EDITION v1.1 and I also upgraded the ROM and radio ROM=3.22.200.4 Radio=32.71.7030.12H
Like I said I've searched but I haven't been able to find anything. I've probably read 200 posts and haven't found the solution.:confused:

all of this can be found in the wiki... maybe read it again... and there are probably a million posts on this board with this fix
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Oem\Qwerty]
"Layout"="197649" (decimal)
or try
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\Qwerty]
"Layout"=263177 (decimal)
make sure when applying a reg hack that you put the phone to sleep for at least a minute...
or as mentioned in one of the other million posts try finding the shortstring cab... its probably still in your extended rom

If I had a penny for every time we'd told him that, I'd have £15.27.

@vijay555
I have tested your application vjkeypress.
With vykeypress with AE Button Plus I can change any keyboard key with listed VirtualKeyCodes.
I just ask if it is possible to simulate keypress for some special characters (not listed) by this program.
If it would be possible, I could remap some keyboard keys for my national language characters (čšž) with AE Button Plus.
Any idea?
Thanks for help!

I forgot to write, that my national keyboard layout is not supported!

It fixed me up. Thanks shogunmark!
edit: sorry.. didn't mean to unearth an ancient thread. My significant other is extremely happy with the dvha rom on her hermes. Her only gripe was the keyboard map and thankfully that's no longer an issue! Thanks again!

I tried the fix posted by Shogunmark, and it did not work for me either...but...I also tried another fix earlier that I think might be the culprit of why Shogunmark's fix did not work.
I had previously changed the registry setting HKLM/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/KEYBD/CWSLayout=0. Change this back to 1 and try:
[HKLM\Software\Oem\Qwerty]
"Layout"="197649" (decimal)
or try
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\Qwerty]
"Layout"=263177 (decimal)
[BTW- the 263177 value worked for me on my AT&T Tilt]
Hope this works for you all.
