Has anyone found somewhere with screen protectors for the Ameo (that will have stock before 15th April)?

My Ameo is getting delivered tomorrow, and I'm thinking that if I wait till 15th April, my screen will be scratched to bits by then. All the screen protector will get to do will be to neatly seal and preserve the scratches! ;-)

HI,

My T-mobile Ameo(The Netherlands) was delivered with a screenprotector :-)
But the quality isn't as good as the UltraClears from Brando. But it's something. I will replace it when Brando has them for the Ameo.

be careful of the original screen protector, when you remove it, it might leaves a mask on the screen !! one of my friend used the original screen protector, and when he removed it, the screen surface got "lift up", so the surface is no longer flat!!! he has to send back and get a exchange at the end.

I am also looking for screen protector, i have contact Martin Field, and they say they will release one soon when they get the screen measurement.

Now this I like the look of. Durability! But how is the quality of the actual Screen protector? Is it like Boxwaves Clearview or 99% Anti-reflection...bla bla bla?

This is important as I don't want to loose the sharpness of the display or much of the touch sensitivity of the screen.

@wu5262:
Thanks for the warning(and all your other comments in the Athena section. I read them (almost) all).
I will be very carefull when peeling the screen protector off. And will order another one as soon as possible.

@lawbet7eb:
Thanks for the tip; Did you trey those yourself already? I Like to know how good they are on the screen. And if they give the same clearness as the Brando UltraClears or Boxwaves screen protectors.

Hi,

I couldn't wait and already got this screen/device protection and applied it.
It works verry wel and is, in my opinion, better/clearer than the original screen protector. It feels thicker dan the original one but the touch screen works as well as before. I also applied the protection on the rest of the device. That works OK as well. But the disadvantage of protection is that it is flexibel in the way that you can stretch the 'plastic'. So be very carefull when applying it. The protection for arround the screen was the only one not working for me. Mine wasn't cut out OK and I streched it to much. :-( So I threw it away.

is it possible for you to post some picture of it? how does it feel? does it make your device feel like a huge plastic?

I will make some pictures tonight( need a second camera for that:-)).
It feels a bit plastic, but I don't mind. The Ameo is in it's case most of the time. If you touch the screen with your stylus then it feels a bit sticky, but you can drag arround the screen with your stylus with no problem. It is however difficult to apply the protection withou any bubble, but maybe I'm just a bit clumsy with that.

I've got it also as of todayand I'm also positive avout this invisible shield protector. Indeed be carefull with getting of the plastic from the paper. Also use a lot of water (delivered with the package) because then you can position the shield the best. An other tip: use a tissue to get rid of the water between the shield and the screen.

Works perfect.

+ very easy to install
+ good protection for all sites of the device
+ very clear en bright

- easy to cut the thinner parts in 2
- he plasic is reel soft like a kind of thin rubber, so if you drag over the screen using your stylus feels like you stuck in the plasic a bit. Maybe this will get a bit better after a couple of day's.

Conclusion: 8+ (out of 10) so buy it! :)

Thanks for the heads-up - I've ordered mine now. :)

(And I can second the recommendation - I've tried a few different screen protectors before, and the Martin Fields one I used on my Universal was by far the best.)

Maybe Brando UltraClear would be the best solution???

I bought a pack of Writeright things YEARS ago, and have been using the same pack ever since. However due to the size of the Ameo screen they come nowhere near filling it.
A shame, they are amazing.

The stock one that came with it is a bit sticky for my liking, and a tiny bit too narrow. I have over a 1mm gap at the right because I lined up at the left edge exactly.

Im not so good at fitting them, so a couple of bubbles. Has anyone lifted and replaced the stock protector? recommended methods? The old fingernail under the corner always ruins them.

Some people suggest a bit of sticky tape to lift the corner.

I disagree. I have just fitted the Martin Field screen protector to my Ameo abd it didn't work well. I have had to take it off and now I have no screen protector temporarily.

can you explain why it doesn't work well? i have put it on my Athena perfectly, not a single bubble and you can't really see the screen protector is on. And my screen works under the sun as well.

However i must say you do need some skills to apply screen protector, not only for Martin Field, for all of them to fit perfectly.

No bubbles (spent an age putting it on). Just too thick - you had to press too hard to get a response from the screen. Maybe mine was a bad example. Have ordered a different version!

yes, that is a feature of Martin Field, they are a bit ticker then others, but apart from that, it's above others in my view, the image looks better on martin field compare to brando

Are you sure there wasn't another thin layer ontop of the screen protector? I fitted one once and got no response from the screen at all. I was miffed and almost sent it back...but on closer inspection (actually..I was trying to remove it completely), another thin film was caught under the pin I used to lift it and voila...a beautifully fitted and touch-responsive screen protector was underneath it all the time.

Sounds to me like you may have the same problem! Check again before returning it..it is very hard to see..as a matter of fact, I didn't/could't see it at all...pure luck. :)

I've also done that in the past - won't make that mistake twice!

In the meantime, I've now fitted a different one I found on ebay - no paticular brand. It works perfectly.

I've also fitted the bodyshield referred to elsewhere (apart from the screen protector - I didn't like the idea of getting moisture on the screen). It makes the Ameo a bit shiny and doesn't cover the sides. Other than that it's great - the Ameo now lives in my pocket without the keyboard and without scratches.

I bought a couple of these from ebay Click Here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HTC-Advantage-X7500-Quality-Screen-Protector-UK-STOCK_W0QQitemZ150112194061QQihZ005QQcategoryZ5854 0QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem)

Although they were quite cheap, they are very clear and the screen works well.

I have bought from GPS for Less before and they have always been reliable. This time was no exception - the protectors arrived next day. BTW before you ask, no I don't work for them!!

I decided to buy 2 screen protectors yesterday from Inkino in Tottenham court Road, London, as they have many Brando screen protectors in stock. Bought 1 for my wife's Universal and one for my Ameo.

I had previously always bought from Boxwave only, and was always very pleased with them, but I must say that the Brando ones are exceptionally good indeed.

Simple to apply with no bubbles and no loss of sensitivity as far as I'm concerned. No one can tell it is evem there!!

Thumbs up from me for Brando and Inkino for having the right stuff in stock all the time. Inkino also have many HTC Advantages in stock as well as many of the new HTC devices.

Can anyone tell me if the Martin Field screen protectors feel less rubbery than the Invisible Shield ones?

I'm trying to choose between the two.

Thanks!

Go for a Brando one matey! It'll last forever, go on in a few minutes, and feel silky smooth too if you go anti-reflective, and just as the original screen if you go ultra-clear. Ichose the anti-reflective one as I have had one of these on the last 5 pda's I've owned....

ALWAY use Brando ones they are amazing - also you have the choice of 'Ultra Clear' or an anti-refective one (which i always opt for) which makes the screen also very silky to write on with the stylus!

Brando ships everywhere and always for 3 US dollars too if i remember rightly!"

It all depends if you want there to be no visible screen protector... i just prefer the anti-reflection and sliky feel of the other one...

I've had both to be honest and I was swayed by the ultra-clear, but I went back to the anti-reflective one just because i like it.

Brando is definitely the way to go. I just got mine in the mail that i ordered off of ebay for $5.00. It came from the UK and was delivered to me in the USA in less than 5 days. Pretty impressive. Easiest screen protector i've ever installed. no bubbles. PERFECT!
