10) There is a option to copy the schedule and actions of a week day and paste them to others weekdays.
11) For each action the user can set a delay. In this way users can control the order of executions and mix actions like turn on/off phone with others like call forwarding, connections, etc.
12) Size of the battery history is customizable in options(2). When the file is full is created and filled with 30% of the old file. In this way the history continues althought the file is full.
13) Option to export battery graphic to bitmap file
14) Uninstall process fixed. Sometimes this process failed. Now works 100% (this custom installer first kill cmp process and unregister today plugin. Then lets Windows do Its job).
15) Warning about locked profiles is done only once. Even resetting the warning isnt done anymore.
16) If there is profile locked and the device is rebooted or CMP restart then the profile locked continues locked.

Hi.
Most of the work with V2.3 is done to improve the skin engine. It will allow to create easily themes for CMP. Now I am preparing a blue-diamond skin very light. Using that skin will reduce the memory footprint in 50% (most of the memory used by CMP is spent caching the skin images because each button has 6 different images). Other features:
1) Finally the bug related with phone-off is fixed. Many of you wanted to automatically turn phone off during night and turn it on in the morning. But when the device was resetted (or CMP restarted) during those moments then the morning schedule was executing, keeping the phone off. This issue has been fixed.
2) Fist stage of integration with touchflo 3d done. The operator name has been replaced by profile -schedule.
3) CMP monitors itself and is restarted if It is killed. The way to exit CMP is using the menu. IN this way we avoid problems with HTC task manager and other issues.

Still testing and creating the theme (Even had to read a photoshop book¡¡:eek:)

5) Support for Samsung Omnia (240x400 devices).

Please send any bug, suggestion, etc. The new diamond skin will be ready very soon and It wil reduce the memory consuption in 50-70%.

I just downloaded the 2.3beta... I'll try it in some minutes...

I have two questions:

- I know that someone already asked you if you are going to develop a "light" version. Since I am interested in only some of the functionalities your software provides, namely log GPS positions and relative CellIDs/LACs, I find your software a bit heavy... It's a pity, because actually it does the job really well... For example, is it possible to avoid (and not only delay) the execution on startup?

- In older posts some guys suggested you to add the possibility (in the web server) to show all the collected points in just one map (or kml file). Is this in the todo list, or is it not as easy as thought?

I think that it is the best for people interested in the location based profile switching... (although a bit intrusive for people that want to use just some of the functionalities...)

Hi Danilo.
To avoid start CMP on startup just remove the link in \windows\startup directory. There is a much ligher skin on course that will reduce the memory footprint 50-80% because most of the memory is used to cache all the skin's images. The new features on the web server (google maps points, version for pda, etc) is in the list and will be done very soon. Lets see the footprint with the new skin.....:D

Current version (2.2) is fully compatible with diamond. Tomorrow will be release v2.3 that makes the first step to integrate cmp with touchflo. By now will show profile - schedule (credits to xda member nls )in first tab of touchflo but I plan to create a special tab. Anyway the touch pro skin is in process. And of course both programs can work in standby mode without wasting cpu&battery (they registers to windows its needs then they sleep and are woke up by windows (when there is a new connection, change of cell, etc)
The program is multilanguage, german included

hehe thanks to all. Those kind of thoughts push me to add new features in this "user driven" project. v2.3 fixes minor bugs over 2.3b5 like re enable xml menu or restart function. I want to remark again that the new raphael skin (available in few days) will reduce much footprint and will speed up it. Then I want to add much more actions, like set default apn connection, set different sounds events depending of schedule, call and sms filter ( tired of get call phone at home??), sync activesync, make a phone call... the limits depends of you!

I just changed to NiAx latest ESP-Version.

Now CMP concludes the version check and starts the download without problems (... still no Idea if it will conclude the download correctly).

BTW:
Did you review the cursor movments on the "event log"? Going down, I just want to scroll down until the earlier entries. But CMP opens the detail view instead. I think it would be better to open the detail view pressing the big center button, and con cursor down, let him just scroll down the list.

Another point is not to reset the event log when we reset CMP. I programmed a automatic reset, and after that I cannot see the events shortly before the resets.

Last point by today: the today event preview some times doesn't show my reset actions that I programmed. Some tiemes it shows up just two of them (reset 1 and reset 2, missing reset 3 and start of the default schedule). As you can see in my db and xml's I sent some time ago, these events are all whithin the default scedule, all schedules called "reset" are set to "any place" and programmed for all 7 week days.

For instance: on trinity with NiAx latest ESP-Rom some times I cannot change 2G-3G-Auto when I started the CommMgr that comes with that version. May bee NiAx CommMgr is sort of CMP-Resistent?

Whishlist for christmas:
- on enter Car-Profile start GPS-Logging, on exit Car-Profile stop GPS-Logging
- Dual line line Sim Card support

- I love your scedule info in the phone head line. But I also love the information about the phone line that's active on my dual card (empresa vs particular) that NiAx-Rom provides. Is it posible to join both indication and let us choose between Standard, CMP or Standard+CMP-info?

2) Where did you put the new skin? I just find Sikzzo and I wanted to try the new one.

3) when activating anything, for example 3G, CMP asks for the time to activate it. mooving with the cursor buttons, there is happening some funny icon change when I pass over the 5 minute button. Have a look to it. It's no funcitonal problem. Just beauty.

I told it once. But I specified that "I am interested in only some of the functionalities Daniel's software provides, namely GPS/cellID log".
So I am an atypical user using 10% of the software capabilities.

Commmgrpro is an excellent piece of software!
Actually the only thing I still hate is the web-server where I have to open a different map for each point, which is actually useless for tracking features.
But the software does not concentrate on tracking, so no blame... ;-)
And changes on this side are anyway in the todo list...

It might be me - but since changing phone from Kaiser I cannot get CMP to work as I think it should - or am I simply missing something.

My issue now is:

Whenever I am on a schedule and want to change to another theme in a short periode - CMP wont let me.

As you can see from screendump I have selected another schedule.

What I do:
- Have an active schedule - called "aften"
- Would like to use my work schedule named "arbejde"
- I deselect / delock the schedule and and select the one I need and give it a periode of time - like 30 minutes..
- But nothing happens. CMP does not change ICON before I press the center Icon button and then press cancel. First then the icon of the selected schedule is shown. Text is still from two different schedules..
- But even then no settings are changed. Nothing happens.
- When time has run out on selected schedule CMP returns to TIMED schedule according to cell - and then everything looks normal again.


So - anyone know why - or what I am doing wrong?

in a first moment I thought you were doing something wrong. Then I tried to simulate the scene using your pics and this is the conclusion. There is problem when you lock/unlock a profile being with the phone off (cmp blinded). It isnt executing again the actions for the previous schedule (the one with phone off). I ve tried it with phone on and no problem. On monday I will fix. And this is why: when the phone is off cmp is blind and doesnt know where you are but save the last known place and assume you are there. But when you lock other profile and the phone continues off then cmp looses the reference to the other profile and he things you are in the locked profile because, as the phone remains off, cmp cant check the current real cell, doesnt know where you are and apply the last profile, this is, the locked one you locked a few minutes ago!!. Easy to fix anyway.Thank you very much!! Nice discover!

maybe dumb question, but I just installed both CMP and Bandswitch on my Raphael, and they killed the fone.

BandSwitch: has problem with TF3D. When BandSwitch is installed TF3D won't display, the screen where the "home" view hsould be is black, the Start menu is displayed and below are the two soft buttons. The BandSwitch icon is in the lower right corner, and BandSwitch runs (menu comes up etc.) I had to remove BandSwitch in order to get TF3D home view to come back.

CMP: The fone really freaked out, and made a "ping" noise non-stop. "ping, ping, ping". I turned the volume off. Then I noticed that I couldn't enter my PIN to get the phone connected to the network. It seems CMP interferes with the network connection and then has an error (the "ping" is the error alert noise I think) it loops infinitely. In order to get connected I had to uninstall CMP. Then I was able to just enter my PIN and make GSM/HSDPA connection as normal.

Any ideas? I would be happy to test and provide specific information if you tell me what you need.

If other program kills it then the monitor relaunch it. But if the user exits cmp (menu?close) then cmp and the monitor disappears). When the monitor cant create a new process for commmgrpro (the exe isnt found, a dll isnt found or available in that moment,etc) then the monitor beeps and try it again in a infinite loop. On monday I will release a new version that makes some trials, then sleep. If cmp cant start then it exits...

when I set the wifi on with the timer - for example 5 minutes - wifi doesn't shut off after this time-limit. With 2G/3G or bluetooth all works fine. Only in wifi mode this issue happens.

This version fixes the weekend issues.
1) Now you can turn phone off, then lock any profile and when you unlock it CMP comes back correctly to the previous one executing the actions.
2) The launcher try to open 3 times CMP (no more beeps) and then exits itself (if cant open CMP).

After all, this could/should be part of our ROM anyway.

I use this the whole day.

I have schedules from before I wake until I go to bed.

My day schedules is something like:

- 0559 Wake up - 0730 car - 0900 job - 1600 car - 1630 home - 1930 kids sleep - 2100 evening - 0100 sleep.

At meetings or going to meetings a special calender schedule is loaded by CMP.
For listening to music another schedule and so on.

I simply love to tweak my CMP to fit my day - evening - weekends.

I didnt add parameters to open file action :p. Why? As a techny I usually create links when I want to launch a program with parameters. As you know you can create a link (lnk) to launch a program including parameters. But Its interesting to add parameters to add params using cmp. Anyway I wouldnt say current action is useless. This action was created to satisfy the user's request like, launch tomtom or wake me opening a mp3 song.

pd. Action for sync activesync or an email account will be developed very soon (when the new skin is finished)

i did what you recomended. from guatemala a guatepeor ;-) ...

after installing 2.4b3 on 16th night, scedule for next reset 17th 5.00 am. and actually the phone reseted. then it showed again next action planned by 20.10., as before the update.
then i untaged always on and active, copied it to all week days, taged alwayson and active again for saturday 5.00 am, and copied to all weekdays. now cpm shows un 25th for the next reset. as saturday is 18th, there is a 7 days gap. may be cmp is counting bas the weekdays or calculating bad the calender date.

So many conditions fall into first if and final else statement (typo error) and this code was related to ...."when will be the next execution of x schedule?" so impredictible results. I think It was inserted with first beta of 2.3.

Please refer any issue after install Beta5 to talk about the same beta and avoid confussions....

in deed i had ver. 2.4b2. you were right.

following issues when installing:

cmp asks me politely if i wanted to load the xml, but it didn't load the profiles. but it deleted the xml file :-(
luckily i had a copy. i put it into the root directory. cmp loaded the xml during a cmp restart, and profiles changed finally.

second: cmp still notyfied the change of provider Value to schedule Value with no chance to say NO. good luck that cmp didn't change the Value, may be because it respected that in the previos version I untaged that feature in options 3.

now i'll check schedules.

Maybe a small hint to reinstallation.

I have my CMP installed on Internal Memory - not on device.

When you reinstall CMP it does not erase the .db file, so you really dont need to import .xml - just install over previous and you are fine - settings are still there.

When I Flash I use SASHIMI to copy the .db into the CMP folder in memory, and then I am back with my schedules and profiles without importing - its all done automatic.

(before I flash I just copy the CMP folder and .db into auto/root in SASHIMI)


If anyone needs it I can give a deeper description...:)

on 18th, cmp announced next reset on 19th 5:00 am. this morning (19th) the pda was reseted, and showing 20th 5:00 am for the next reset. so everything seems to be ok by now.

no problem. i do it that way because i want to do it that way.
a. i never trust software updates. errors might occure where you never would suspect to find one ...
b. cmp is not really doing what it should and it might be the db must be rebuilt
c. i cannot read the db, but the xml is readable in txt editors. I analize and some 6omes modify the file, what is impossible with the db.
d. when testing i make changes for testing ... so I save exported xml as readable backup.

and finaly, I did not agree 100% with cmp's xml import mecanism, so this is also for checking the xml-autoimport routine.

if it wasn't for that reason, i'd aggree totally to what you explained and i recommend to all "users" to follow your advice.

New skins are comming so I ve finally separated the cab installer in different cabs:
1) CommMgrPro_vxx.cab : It contains the program without any skin. All the updates will be provided in this format, saving space, download time and installation time.
2) Theme_xxx.cab : It install a skin a theme in your device. Themes must be installated in same place (ROM or SD) than CommMgrPro to work. You can install as many skins as you want. You can change the current one in options 1 dialog
3) CommMgrPro + Theme.cab. It really install both programs (CommMgrPro + theme) separatelly so you can uninstall/reinstall any in separated way. In fact that cab contains inside two cabs (one for CMP and other for the skin).
Instructions:
1) Install CommMgr_2.4b5.cab. It will reinstall CMP keeping your registry settings but will remove your current theme.
2) Install your theme(be careful with resolution)

I might have found an issue on b4 - but I am not sure - yet.

Whenever I choose a 24h profile for - lets say 30 minutes - CMP seems to forget reverting back to default profile or the one that was active before the chosen one.

As said - I am not sure, so I might be wrong, but I will conduct some testing on it.

I ve testing it but I couldnt see the issue you talk about. I locked a profile for 1, 5 and 10 minutes and always reverted back to the previous profile, even being the phone off. Keep an eye on it and tell me if you find it again ;)

And this ID is used by CMP to know how to change the phone band (2g,3g) using old way (for hermes, trinity, athena) or new way (for kaiser, diamond, TP). The device conect and I can sync other soft, but not the agenda (contacts, task, etc), I can also explore the device, via WMDC.

If uninstall CPCM, I can sync everything with no problem.

Good news then...
To fix all the issues related with the skin engine I am creating a very simple skin. It helped me to find bugs and will allow NLS to create his skin without any problem. The skin I am creating is very simple and much less pretty than skizzo's one. I wasnt going to publish it but probably I will do it. It can be used as a base theme for others or a test concept ;)

Today icons are part of the skin and skizzo theme use qvga icons for vga today so they are very small. Incomming themes will use vga icons for today screen with addecuated size

And what happens if you simply close CMP instead of uninstall it?. Last question, do you use "close idel connections feature"? If so, could you uncheck it, restart cmp and test the issue?

Much more simple. Each skin is a directory under "themes" directory and It contains a file called skin.xml and many images. Of course you can change the size or position of the buttons, background, etc. But my new simple theme and nls theme just redraw each image. Basically each button has a entry in the xml file setting the position, size and all the images of the button (for example, BT off, connectable, discoverable, disabled,etc)...So very easy if you draw well and manage photoshop (or similar) fluently

The work in CMP is finished to create skins easily and all the bugs related with skins are fixed. Attached is the new Beta for CMP. As I promised I ve uploaded the test skin too (called "white"). Not pretty but a concept test. I ve upgraded too the today icons for this skin. Please be aware that this skin is VGA.
Tomorrow I will translate it to qvga and square resolutions.
Instructions:
1) Disable the CommMgrPro today item (Start button/settings/personal/Today) if it was enabled because there are changes in the today plugin code
2) Install CommMgrPro_2.4b7.CAB
3) Theme_White_VGA.CAB
4) Reenable the today plugin..

EDIT: Theme_White_VGA.CAB updated (2008-10-30) because of missing icons

Problem still happening.
Now I am working with version 2.3. I suffer the problem not only when sync using BT but also using USB cable.
As commented, if I close CMP I can sync. But if I close CMP and latter I want open it, sometimes I receive a mesaje saying: can not open German traduction files.

Maybe it could give you a clue.

as beore: check version from 2.4b6 doesn't work, so no update directly within cmp.
last update to 2.4b6: i did it without export/import xml. in all profiles and schedules the actions lost the delay settings. every action turned to be executed in 0 sec. importing xml, the delays are ok.

2.5 whish list:
please give more priority to dual sim support. i'm wayting 1 year. that moto biker shurely not (but i'll try soon on motor bike ... to this biker: which headset do you recomend?).
and: un enter start or stop tracking gps to server, on exit start/stop the same.

I suggest to delete the action and create a new one. The "internal" format of that action changed in last version so If you are using schedule created before maybe the action doesnt work. So delete that action and create a new one...:rolleyes:

in my case, no need. standard device and a dual sim card from my provider, that works ok even on celuar phones from before the year 2000.

it's just a matter of resetting the radio and to give one ir the other PIN, accirding to which phone line you want to activate.
the only prob might be to have clear when to use which PIN.

not really. I just kept the db as is, and let cmp make it's update, maintaining the db, and previously set delay times appeared as zero. this happened from 2.4b3 to b4, to b5, to 2.4 final version.

Do you want to avoid work calls when you are at home?, always or in the weekend?
Do you want to avoid all phone calls except from the boss when you re on a meeting?

Features:
1) YOu can create and update groups of people (family, work, etc).
2) you can ALLOW or DENY calls/sms from groups or individual people.
3) You can choose how to deny a call (mute, hang, etc).
4) In case of deny a call/sms you can choose post actions. For example, send to the caller/writer and sms saying you are busy right now. You can too schedule a windows reminder to remind you, after some time, that you missed a call.

Of course, suggestions are wellcome.

Should natively be in WM. Then we would rarely have updates though. :)
Should also be in every custom ROM (hello cooks?), even unregistered (or with some special deal - Daniel).

What I totally love, is that (although I haven't yet looked at the source) although the application has grown very complex and featured, remains stable and "clean". Something that cannot be said about MANY MUCH SIMPLER attempts we see in here (and that in addition the authors just abandon after a while).

For example I drive about an hour with my car every day. I always start at the same place, but not at the same time. I drive to different places, but this doesn't take me longer than an hour. Yes, you can. Threre is an option associated to each schedule called "execute in any place". This option locks automatically a profile-schedule at a time, the days you want. Suppose you create the car profile and a schedule called "Trip to job" from 09:00 to 10:00 from monday to friday and you set the flag "Execute in any place" to those 5 days (monday to friday for schedule "Trip to job"). Then every job day, from 9 to 10, the car profile will be locked automatically (with the schedule "trip to job") and will be automatically unselected at 10.....

Ok, I have already found this feature. However, this only allows to execute a certain profile at a fixed time each day. But what I want is to have an event triggered automatically by entering a certain place and to have this effect locked, overriding following profile changes for a limited amount of time.

I drive home from work at completely diffent times every day. It can be at 12.00 AM as well as at 20.00 PM. What remains approximately the same is the duration of the trip. As the destination of the trip also varies, I cannot have bluetooth deactivated by another location based profile.

But CommMgrPro wins hands down. The reason is because it's more versatile, compatible with Manila 2D and the last reason, It's Free.

Ever since upgraded to 1.65 Radio, I have looking for a profile manager to turn the phone off with scheduling. But either it's too buggy or not versatile enough.

CommMgrPro seems to be the answer to my needs.

Thats how the integration with touchflo work and It was your idea, like the virtual secretariat idea(automatic hang/mute phone calls replying with sms, automatic delete/reply sms/mails depending on the caller and current profile). This will be the biggest improvement of cmp ever done :p

If this was covered elsewhere please excuse me. I haven't had any luck in either this application nor in BandSwitch.

Under the option to view all available connections in Daniels app. - the connections matrix displays which connections are enabled/disabled and if any of these are currently active. It also allows you to turn on or off the connections etc.

Here's the issue:

If you have a certain connection enabled in the main \settings\connections\connections\advanced\select network...menu and choose to enable a different connection (i.e. ISP vs. MediaNet when MediaNet is chosen via settings) using the BandSwtich or CommMgrPro connection matrix - it is not activated properly. The connection icon will change to show that it creates a connection but for whatever reason it no longer detected by any applications that require the data connection?

Any ideas? As importantly...Does anyone understand what I just said? :)

Ok. Let's see If I understood you. The default provider usually is My Isp. You can create other providers (networks) and create connections for those networks. For example I can create MyIsp2 network and then create connections for that network. But be aware about the text "Programs that automatically connect to the internet should connect using:". So, for example, if you have selected MyIsp network in the list but you stablish a connection that belongs to other network (MyIsp2...) then CommMgrPro, or bandswitch will be able to stablish manually the connection but the Connection Mgr (Kernel process of windows) will not use that connection because It doesnt belong to the prefered network. In this way the applications that use Connection Manager to get connections wont be able to use it. So if you want to be able to use the connections created for MyIsp2 (for example) you will have to select manually "MyIsp2" in that combo box.

Maybe I can do a hack so if you stablish a connection (using CMP) that doesnt belong to the current default network then CMP change "on the fly" the default network so all the applications will be able to use that connection.....

1)In the gps config dialog there is test button. Did you try it?. In this way you will know if cmp is able to "talk" with your gps
2) Install and try the theme "white vga". skizzo theme for vga didnt enlarged the today icons

That issue happens when the device user name isnt correct. I suppose you ve registered on the site and have set the device owner name you re using. Click on the check link to see if there re records for that use name. To do it you can edit your account. Leave tha hardware id to blank. If you cant do please email me (herrero.daniel@gmail.com) showing your web account (user and password) and your device owner name and I will help you

Current version upload the position (cell and gps coords) when you change the cell. But there is a item in my todo list to allow upload the position periodically each some seconds/meters or when you move some meters (this feature only if gps enabled). This will be developed soon, when I finish the virtual secretary (automatic phone calls, sms, mail management)

1. Schedule name
2. from time & to time -> Each line shows when you enter, no ranges
3. Time in that schedule in hour:minute -> Good idea
4. Export to csv file. -> Good idea

Situation :- I forgot where I kept my mobile. May be I forgot it in office table, or in home itself. Even if it is somewhere in home itself, I can't trace it by a ring to that missed phone from any other phone, because it is still in silent mode that was set, while I was at office!
Solution :- Send a pre-defined SMS to that missed phone,
1. that will force the phone to exit the silent mode and
2. will play an alarm
3. flashes light
4. vibrates
5. send an SMS back to the phone from the phone tracking SMS was sent!
6. EMEI Number
Details sent back are
a. Current location (Tower name (Place name) or Cell/LAC I'D or schedule name.
b. Last dialed/received/missed call
Note :- 3rd & 4th action will be executed considering the battery status.
This can be used to trace the phone even on theft (if the phone is ON)
User have options to select whichever actions to execute, in the phone tracking SMS. Thus user can just trigger his phone to send a hidden SMS with those details that will help to track the phone, without the knowledge of the thief.

I have the database of Cell/LAC I'D of places I frequently visits. I lost CommMgr data as accidently formatted my Pocket PC without backup it.
Later when tried to these data manually, there is no option to do it! Plz give a facility to it.

I have set action to the profile 'Office' to send an SMS to my father's mobile when I reaches there at morning & when I left to home from there at night. SMS may delay to be delivered to father's mobile. So he feels difficulty to know the exact time of the event.
Mostly I leave office very late and family will be waiting for me and forget to inform them about my late arrival! Now CommMgr will inform them, when I leave office, GREAT!!
If this feature is there, my mobile's SMS will be like "Raj has reached his office on 25/12/2008 9:30 AM"

BUG:- At 6:00am, actions has to be executed. But except changing Theme, other actions executed. Theme remained the previous one, while ringtone, vibration etc changed.

Yes uli. What you say is part of my todo list. These day I ve been missing. Two weeks for holidays and one week ill (a very strong cold). I ve wrote down all the above suggestions. Some of them will discussed here. My main goal is to finish the virtual secretariat. It wasnt easy because it can be considered as a single program but it boosts cmp so I ve integrated it as a action for cmp. Probably I will stay on bed 2 more days and the I will continue with the work :)

How can I move the thread to Dev forum?. Its a nice idea. Each time CMP has a new release all the users are notified by mail automatically. I am developing the last part of the virtual secretariat. (Call/SMS/Mail proxy). It had to be finished right now but I tried Magicall (proxy too) and I saw good ideas. My goal isnt to provide a simple call/sms/mail proxy to CMP but to do a very good proxy. Joining a nice proxy with the power of CMP (the configuration of the virtual secretariat would change automatically depending of your location, week day and time) will create a perfect combination. Probably this week I will upload here the first beta :)

congratulations, this seems to be an excellent piece of Software. I'm having just one question before I'm going to try it on my HTC Touch 3G. I read this threat from Sept. 2008 so before the HTC 3G was released and I couldn't find a hint to my question.
Couple of days ago I got my HTC 3G and I was looking for a software which could handle profiles time and location based. I couldn't find one because most of the SW is using a Today Plug-In to manage it. So I bought Phoneweaver a time and event based profile solution. Than accidentally I stumbled over this exciting software. So my questions is: is commmgpro compatible with HTC 3G or to be more precise with HTC Touch Flow II (I think this is the HTC application used on the HTC Touch 3G)? Because I'd like to use the Touch Flow as main SW platform.

The program has been tested in most of the HTC devices including Hermes, Trinity, Athena, Kaiser, Diamond, Touch Pro, HD and Xperia X1. I am not very sure to know the device you talk about (do you mean manila when talking about Touch Flo)?. Anyway It should work without problems....

This week for sure. Most of the code is done. Right now:If the user selects to intercept(hang) a call for a group of callers then CMP should provide a call list containing the list of calls intercepted by CMP because they wont be in the standard phone history. In fact when a user selects to intercept some calls he wants It doesnt appear in the standar list. At least the most known programs do it. So CMP must provice a way to check those calls and direct access to call the caller, etc, etc, so CMP has to saves those calls to persistent storage, a dialog to manage them, etc....:)

hi. i dont' want this program to download any data. i use a program to track data and for some reason, cmp shows up as download some data (small), but where i live and what plan i have - it costs alot of money for each kb .
So i only connect to the data connection at times of desperation.

how can i turn off this program for downloading any data (on HSPDA, GPRS etc). ?

Once per day CMP checks if there is a new version. This process is ONLY done is exists one opened connection. No matters if GPRS/UMTS, or Wifi, or activesync. If there isnt any connection stablished then CMP wont connect and will wait until the user (or other program) stablishes a connection. The check process takes 50 bytes going to a servlet in CMP server. This request includes current version, device owner name, etc. The response takes 10 bytes. So no more than 60 bytes per day althought some providers stablish the minimum data to 1 Kb. Anyway, if you dont want to be charged I recommend you to disable (using CMP) the GPRS/UMTS connections....

You can auto-delete E-Mail and even reply to them something.

And all this for specific numbers, or specific contacts, or contact groups, or outlook categories, or email addresses or other special groups or custom groups YOU make!!!
And the cherry on top? Wildcards supported for all these!

More things are coming until the final arrives - but you don't have to wait! Probably next week Daniel comes out with first public beta!

After 2.5 with Virtual Secretariat, the next version (3.0?) is going to fine tune how objects interrelate, clean up the interface, possibly separate config from back-end, make a nicer today plugin, possibly make Virtual Secretariat work for outgoing traffic too... and sky is the limit.

1) I use CMP through My Mobiler from PC, here is what I see
- Double click a action, the top menu appears, edit and save no problem.
- Then double click some action again, the menu appears and ten quicly disappears. And then if try to close the window, it does not close. I hope it helps.

2) I will send you the log tommorow morning, when it happens again.

I really think It can be very useful...In my case sometimes I wanted to turn phone off in meetings except for family calls....or being at home I want to block job's calls and anonimous (spam) calls....or being on holidays I would like to forward all my job mails (*@mycompany.com) to the address of a fellow in the office. All these things and much more will be able next week and more important: its configuration changes automatically depending on my position and week day/ time. At least I always wanted something similar for my own use :D

You may have thought if this already, but have you considered getting the locaiton via GPS, say with a fence for distance? It looks like you already have the base code for this since you get the GPS position when a new cell is found. I'm not sure how you have it written, so don't know if this would be easy or not.

No it is not available unless I use GPS. Without GPS it says "Location Temporarly Unavailable."

thanks for your tipps and hints concerning killing applications by htc task manager. Unfortunately none of them worked for my HTC Touch 3G. It seems that the 3G or m2d is slightly different from the rest of htc offerings.
I'd have loved to use your application but when its open than touching on the today button generates a re-start and when its minimized the phone freezes. I hope there will be a full HTC Touch 3G compliant version sooner or later.

Two things..

1) I belive that the "shut down" programs function is not working as good as it possibly could. I am not sure about this, but I dont belive its turning off programs and remove from ram - as if you close a program in TASKMANAGER.

So what to do? Perhaps its the .exe files we have to go for instead of .ink?? (I dont know).....OR perhaps implement a reading of active programs on device that has to be turned down at a certain time. (Have seen this on many other apps)

My point is that I would like to save power when possible.

2) This one is a wild one.

Is it possible to make CMP turn off when not needed?? and perhaps only be a very small service running in background.

Example: I want every program running to turn off at 0100, and that I set up in my profile (perhaps done as described above).
At 0101 I would then like CMP to shot down until 0555. To do that I choose the speciel "Close" profile where its only possible to set: CLOSING TIME and START TIME. That profile is actually a script (MORT?) or a service that loads/unloads CMP from RAM....

Does this make any sense?

1). You are right. It only happens with some programs, like IGO. I will try to fix it.
2) I suppose you talk about the ram because cmp almost not use cpu. You can check it with a cpu monitor. Today I ve been doing memory test. In vga devices cmp takes 2mb: 500 kb for the very large amounts of texts stored in xml. 500 kb are used to store in ram all the actions, profiles, schedules, cells,etc. 1mb is used to store the current configuration for the skin, this is, coordenates of each GUI element, pens, cached images, etc, etc. So most of the space is used to load texts and gui. But this is needed only when you configure cmp or access to the main window. I dont know exactly how I will do it because currectly is very coupled, but next version (2.6) willl decouple those issues, so cmp will run without texts and gui using little ram. Only when needed will be loaded and unloaded. My goal is to make cmp running under 500 KB.

It was my idea.
1) Improve close action (shouldnt be complicated)
2) Release the beta to find bugs and suggestions in Virtual Secretariat (this morning)
3) Allow to configure the level of cached texts, images and data from db. In this way will can play moving the slider between performance (with high ram) and minor performance with very low ram. It may take 3 or 4 days. During this time I will fix bugs in VS (virtual secretariat) too.

Martin, can you tall me a program didnt close by cmp (most are closed correctly) to take it as reference to test? :)

Of course you can. Specially cprog.exe (phone program) that takes arround 10 MB (using phone skin)......But your battery dies very soon. Have you tried to turn phone off during the night? (using CMP, of course¡¡ :D )

Ok. Here is the beta 2.5b20.
First of all PLEASE do a backup of you database because this version changes the DB structure. You will need your old database to downgrade to latest stable version.
The main feature of this version is the new Virtual Secretariat action.
A brief resume:
1) You create groups or lists of people (white list, black list, family, work, etc) using outlook contacts, numbers, mails, willcards (*@mycompany.com), outlook categories, etc
2) You add the action VS (Virtual Secretariat) for the profiles you need. Tipically you will add the action "VS off" on exit.
3) When you setup the action for a profile you set how CMP should behave upong incoming phone calls, sms and emails.

You can create different groups of people. A group can be composed by:
1) Outlook contacts.
2) Other group (It allows tree way lists)
3) Phone number (willcards * and ? are allowed)
4) Email address (willcards * and ? are allowed).

All the incoming calls/sms/mails are registered by CMP. If CMP did something with an event (call/sms/mail) will be in red. If cmp didnt anyting then will be in greeb. IN the lower part you can see the details of the event and the actions performed by CMP to that event. If the event is a call or sms you can dial the number and if the element is an SMS or mail you can view the outlook inbox.

Here you see how to activate/deactivate the VS for a profile. Dont forget to use "VS off" when you dont need it.

This is the main screen to setup the VS action. You can setup different rules and the actions that will do CMP for this rule. You can setup different rules. When a new event arrives (call, etc) CMP will check if the caller matches the rule. If yes, then CMP will perform the actions. If NO then CMP will check the next rule. Once CMP finds a matching rule then doesnt continue with the next rules. Once the rules are created you change its position (up/down). In this dialog you can use special groups like "All the known people" (if the caller/writter is in your outlook list), "All the unknown people", "Anonimous numbers", etc or use groups previously created, etc
You can configure phone, sms and mail clicking on the red/green cells (green means there are action, red not) or tapping in the lower list.

Here you setup the phone actions. You can:
1) Hang or mute or dont intercept the call
2) Sends a SMS
3) Remind after some minutes
4) Instant notif. You will see a icon on your top bar. When you click on it there will be a popup buble telling.."There was a incoming call fom Jhon and was hanged" with a button to display the history log. from there you can call him
5) Send SMS if you dont pick up the phone. ("Sorry now I am riding my BMW 1200 GS, hehe Nick").

1) Mute the sms
2) Delete
3) Answer with and SMS (See next post to see expressions)
4) Schedule a system reminder
5) Instant notification. It display a top icon to let you know CMP did something with this. Tapping shows the buble
6) Foward the sms to other number. You can write the number or select an outlook contact.

I ve uploaded b21 in the first post. Now CMP needs 600 KB to run instead of 2MB (arround 25% of original needs). I plan to reduce it to 200-400KB....

hehe, no no, but dont worry. There isnt an oficial way to do it. Because of some reason the CDMA roms (at least Spring ones) dont implement the standard api the get the info but I am researching about it to find a hack system until your roms implement this feature....

You know that is typical of Sprint and it realy burns my A** too. It may not be worth it in the long run anyway.

Hey, I know you want this to be able to work on ALL phones and not just GPS enabled ones, but it may be easier to do your GPS changes then to hack the Cell information from Sprint. I mean, if Google can't do it then it may not be worth it.

Just some friendly unsolicited advise.
