In this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299072&page=3) thread we are looking at getting SMS notification of VM on an Orange M3100 working for WM6. It is mentioned that SMS notification is working for Orange M5000s running WM6 and so we are lookng to "steal" a copy of SMS_providers.dll from one.

Can anyone help by attaching it to the thread? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I've recently upgraded my SPV M3100 to WM6 using the HTC official rom, I've manage to get everything working but the Voicemail notifications which I believe the sms_providers.dll fixes.

Please could someone let me know how to get this file into my \windows directory. Whenever I try it I just get the following error:

Cannot Copy 'sms_provider': Access is denied.
Be certain that the there is enough from storage memory (there is), that the destination is not write-protected and tha the file is not currently in use.

What I'm Doing:

1. Placed the sms_providers.dll onto my storage card.
2. Run 'File Explorer' on the device.
3. Performed a 'Cut' on the sms_providers.dll (on storage card).
4. Navigated to \windows & performed a paste.
5. Clicked Yes to overwrite the current file.
6. Error as described above

Well it means that sms_providers.dll already exists in your \windows directory, and it is currently read only/write protected. You might want to try another File Manager program like Total Commander or Resco Explorer to work around it. But if it is part of the ROM, then there is no way you can over write it. You will have to include sms_providers.dll in your WM6 ROM via kitchen then reflash again.

Many thanks DaVince, Total Commander did its magic and moved the sms_providers.dll without winging, rebooted the phone and wallaaa, workin.

Here's a link for Total Commander (http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm) if anyone else needs it.

Many thanks :D
