Thanks for the update! I've downloaded and will flash the new software in the morning (I want to charge the battery a bit first).
I hope radio is more stable with this software - I've been to Denmark and the UK this week and in both countries call were broken and the phone lost connection with the mobile network (No service and Searching). Same problem that I've had before, even though I have tried changing the sim card. If it wasn't for these problems it would be a great smartphone, but now I find it to be a very crappy phone. Let's see if that changes now!

Finally got the update to work, had to do it according to these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1050547&postcount=6.

OS version is now: 5.1.465 (Build 15673.3.3.1), BUT radio is 1.29.00.10 and not 1.38.00.10 as it says on the ROM package. Can someone confirm this? As I had the 1.32 IU Test version installed previously and although I went first back to 1.30 I didn't check what the Radio version was so I don't know if 1.29 radio is something that was left from the 1.32 version or if 1.34 just has the same radio as 1.32.

1.32 was pretty promising version and I hope this one will be even better. I've had no major issues with these newer versions, although just a few days ago the phone ate the battery from 100% to about 15% in two hours when I was in a movie theater and the phone was not supposed to be doing anything!

I too have problems upgrading - I get error 262 at the beginning of the flashing. When I restart the MTeoR it starts WM as usual, so it seems it hasn't started flashing yet. This happens on two different computers. Any suggestions, please?

Note: I am able to flash 1.30.251.1 with any of the above computers. Only the new 1.34 is a problem. Could the install program be faulty? If so, it is pretty bad considering it is an official release.

I didn't know how to do that , but after having checked a number of threads etc this is what I did:

1. Extracted the files in the exe file RUU_BREE100_1.34.251.1_1.38.00.10_HTCEUR_SHIP using WinRAR.
2. Did the same with RUU_BREE100_1.30.251.1_1.16.00.10_HTCEUR_Ship
3. Removed the nbh file from the 1.30 directory and replaced it with the file from the 1.34 directory.
4. Ran ROMUpgradeUt.exe

It all worked, and I have now upgraded the Rom. Thanks!

jpalo: radio is 1.38.00.10, just as the file name says.

My radio didn't update first time either.

I found I had to use the 1.30 installer and it would only update the second attempt when it was already in the bootloader.

I then used the 1.34 updater and it then updated the radio.

Well I just updated mine and Yippeeee!!!!! Finally I have the EDGE "E" at the top. 'Bout freakin' time. My radio does still say 1.29 but I have noticed that before the update my phone was only on 2 bars, now it's steady on 4. Browsing seems to be much quicker now as well. Time to start reloading and testing.

Try updating with the 1.34 .exe and .nbh once you have managed to get to 1.34 the first time (ie just run the updater direct as you should normally)

My OS is 5.1.465 (Build 15673.3.3.1)
Radio Version is 1.38.00.10

So I guess that would make it AKU 3.3.1

No problems with it so far and have unlocked it to import the Vodafone settings as I would before, now to restart my mission to actually be able to load the UK Vodafone wap sites.

Do you mean you "application" unlocked it? When I tried the old tired and true way of running SDA Unlock tool it tells me it can't be unlocked. I also can't make any registry edits, it won't save my changes and gives an error. What did you use to unlock it? Thx.

I had the same problems with my phone really bad. Finally got fed up and sent it for repair.

Got it back about 10 days ago, and haven't had any problem since. I'll wait another week or so before I really give it a clean bill of health.

The fix was quite simple... They replaced the mainboard... :) So it seems like there really was a hardware problem.

Looks like the 1.34 update has been removed from www.myqtek.fi and www.myqtek.se (although it is still available via some URL tweaking).

Running the ROM update again now succeeded without any 262 errors and radio was also updated to 1.38. Thanks for help.

I ran the registry editor (same as before), made three registry changes.
Rebooted, ran the unlocker (which is now allowed)
Rebooted again and ran the unlock tool and said my phone was unlocked.

Thanks. I made a rookie error, I used "regeditSTG" instead of "regeditSTG2" to make my edits. Once I discovered this the changes went fine and I"m in business.

HaHaHa - Looks like the package is:

SPL - 1.10 (faster flash times)
Rom - 1.34
Radio - 1.38

but the update app is looking for spl 1.10 commands!

So, as has been said, the only way to get this to work is to use a pevious update app that works with SPL 1.07 and older (i.e. one from 1.30 upgrade package) to flash the SPL to 1.10 and the ROM. After that you can use the package as intended as the phone will have spl 1.10. This'll upgrade the radio too.

The new one feels much faster when browsing or other internet activities. It has a new streaming media player. It displays E for edge. It has "Internet Sharing" lika a PC instead of having to install it as a modem. Don't know yet if the "searching" or "no service" problem is solved. I haven't had any problems yet with this version.

Yes, I think this version is a worthwhile improvment. Except for the update program...

Regarding the "searching" or "no service" problem.
I haven't had any problems with my phone since I got it back from service two weeks ago.
Before that it would loose connection at least every other day, and generally more often than that.

According to the service papers, they replaced the mainboard on the phone. That's like giving me a new phone in the old "wrapper".
Based on that, I'm convinced that it's a hardware problem.

Basically, I just extracted the Dopod .nbh file, put it into the 1.34 RUU package and ran the thing. It re-flashed my phone back to it's original (yet humble) glory!

So this answered my previous question on how to downgrade. Close call but happy for the experience.
I just hope that Dopod becomes as proactive about ROM improvements as HTC, Qtek and even i-Mate have been. If that would mean putting out a WM6 ROM, I don't think I would ever get another brand of Windows smartphones. ;)

The RUU version is the important thing as they are SPL specific. This is why the upgrade package failed and was withdrawn.

The RUU in the 130 package makes cals that work with SPL 1.07 and the one in the 134 package works with the faster 1.10 SPL.

Re. ROM releases, I was under the impression Dopod was now just a brand name for HTC in Asia. They bought Dopod last summer.

Well, I have to own up to it...
The ROM flashing went fine, in the way that I mentioned earlier. However the phone refuses to boot up.
I see a Dopod logo, followed by the HTC logo, followed by the Windows logo and then stall... :eek:

My hear just stopped. I quickly tried reapplying the Dopod ROM again, then the 1.30, then the 1.32, then the 1.34. They all failed. The SPL is still 1.10 and as I reach 1%, the phone reboots and the ROM utility shows me the dreaded "Invalid Vendor ID" message.

I suspect that the phone is stalling because of the 1.29 radio version. Since the Dopod ROM version is for 1.15 (i think), there could be some incompatibilities between the ROM code and the newer radio code.

It's official... my phone is now dead.

I humbly ask for someone to come up with a way to downgrade the SPL back to at least 1.07.

I don't see another way out of this, but I am open to suggestions.

ok, I am 2 updates behind the curve now (1.30), so I've decided to upgrade to this one. Based on the info ive read here, I'll be trying this method:

"...take any Breeze upgrade and name it BREEIMG.nbh, put it on the root folder of the emty SD card and start the phone in bootloader mode. edit - Didn't work. I went into boot loader mode, it found the update, checked it, then when into the default boot loader screen. I think this may be because my boot loader is too old?

edit #2 - trying again using ROMUpgradeUt.exe from a 1.15 ROM I have here,. I haven't been able to find a 1.30 ROM, thanks to M$ being difficult.

edit #3 - didn't work, incorrect vendor ID. tried an imate & a HTC upgrade utl (I have a dopod 595). I'm running out of ideas now. I shall try to find a 1.30 ROM to use its upgrade utl...

edit #4 - I just tried using a 1.32 ROM update utl (I gave up on finding a 1.30 one), its failed with the same error. I need to figure out the vendor ID issue, I think it's solvable from memory, back to search...

edit #6 - I can't figure out how to "run SSPL-HERM.exe with SPL.nb you just copied as parameter AND immediately press POWER and CAMERA buttons." as described by oirad (2 links up on this post). If i run SSPL-HERM.exe it turns off the phone immediately (as if I pulled the battery), then I can't turn it on until I take the batt out for a few seconds. I boot into the boot loader (cambuttn+power) & try to flash, but get exactly the same vendor ID error.

How do I run with a parameter in a smartphone?? arg.... any help would be hugely appreciated.

1- Create a txt file on PC which contains the folowing line "32#\Temp\SSPL-HERM.exe \Temp\SPL.nb". Number before hash contains the number of chars in command after the hash char. This example assumes both SSPL-HERM.exe and SPL.nb are in \Temp folder on device.

2- rename this txt file to something with ".lnk" extension

3- copy this .lnk file to device

4- start this .lnk file ON DEVICE with help of File Manager

I used the RUU_BREE100_1.32.251.1_1.29.00.10_HTC Updating application with the RUU_BREE100_1.34.251.1_1.38.00.10_HTCEUR_SHIP nbh.

But it wouldn't update (Invalid vendor ID) until I ran SSPL_HERM.exe with SPL.nd (from a RUU_BREE100_1.13.251.2_1.06.00.10_QtekEUR_Ship_R3 - not sure if it is essential for it to be from this one or not) as a parameter. That reboots the phone & you have to press PWR+CAM to ensure it goes into bootloader. Then connect the USB & run the update above (i had to run it twice before it did it).

I then rebooted the phone & tried to run the full RUU_BREE100_1.34.251.1_1.38.00.10_HTCEUR_SHIP update but it errored out i think (can't remember), but when I checked the versions everything is as it should be, so I let it be. My bootloader is now 1.10 (was 1.07)

I have attempted to update the radio again to 1.38.30 (released in the Hermes forum) but have been unsuccessful.

I've downloaded the 1.34 and the 1.32 roms. Then I copied the 1.34 nbh file into the directory of 1.32 and renamed the 1.34 rom into the nbh filename of the 1.32 rom (something with TEST). So i've updated my MteoR with the 1.34 rom, using the 1.32 utility and it did the job.:)
The only thing I'm missing, is the DUN profile. So my MteoR can't be used as a dialup to the internet from my laptop. :mad:

Anybody any suggestions how I can install the DUN profile on my MteoR again ?:confused:
I've solved my problem... ;) I've activated Internet Sharing on the MteoR and made a connection to the internet using the existing provider GPRS point. Then I used PAN on my Vista laptop and made a connection to my MteoR. Presto ! It works ! I'm typing this message using that connection to the internet. (116 kbps only, but I will enable HSDPA afterwards...)

I have extracted the SPL.nd from the same old version than you, and put that file in the same folder than SSPL-HERM.exe, but when I start SSPL-HERM.exe, my phone switches off, and even if I press camera+switch together, it never restarts, I have to remove the battery to restart it.

How do you put the SPL.ND as a "parameter" for SSPL-HERM.exe?

You have to press power + cam *as* you execute the file, then it boots into bootloader.

1.34 reappeared on MyQtek and now contains two files that has to be run first one being SPL 1.09. I do, however, have SPL 1.10 as I have already applied this update earlier.

Ok I compared the second file in the package with the one originally posted in this thread and they are identical.

First file has a tiny file called breeimg_hash.nbh that looks like it just preps for the second file.

I think the radio is more steady, a better connection. There's this 3G icon visible, but I can't tell when I'm using UMTS or HSDPA. But internetting sure is fast. Overal it seems more reliable.

Probably not an issue for all you lucky baxxards out there with an Exchange box behind you...but when using a third party email client as OneBridge this might be a problem - as it is to me.

The Messaging part which previously in AKU 2.3 consisted of "Text/SMS" "Outlook e-mail" and "MMS"
Now (with AKU 3.3.1) has a 4th option to add an POP3/IMAP account which of course might come in handy for anyone using it, BUT the former default Outlook e-mail (when opening) now forces you with a wizard to enter your Active Sync server details - and there is no visible way to disable this.

The only workarund i can find is to go in via Textmessages, and then push the nav-key right to open the e-mail message inbox/store.
(This workaround does not involve any logic though)

Any ideas on a hack to remove this stupid wizard ?:mad:

Installed the update from myqtek.se yesterday - worked like a charm.

But; now my battery drains like at punctured bike.
(8 hours = 50%, without use)

How did you start the phone in bootloader mode?

Switch off your phone. Press and hold the Camera button and switch on your phone again. You should see a three color screen now and the word SERIAL at the bottom. As soon you insert an USB cable, the word changes in USB and you're ready to go.

When the update doesn't start, take out your battery, wait for a few seconds, then insert the battery again and switch on your phone. It will boot as usual.

Execution the file just tries to update the phone, there is no way to rename rom into nb whatever files ....

Extract the EXE file with WINRAR.

Mmmmmm, in Winrar, the prog says there are no archives in the EXE file ....
Maybe I need a later version of Winrar ???

Sorry, but I am completely missing something here i think.

Extracted the archive i downed with Winrar.
Got 2 files, some swedish PDF file, and an EXE file.

Winrar refuses to extract it (no archives in file), and running it is no option, as it does not work. (error 276).

Please someone, point me in the right direction, I am using the old 1.13 version with crappy BT connection ....

Performed the upgrade last night.

All BT problems are history, and I get the impression that the phone actually works a little bit faster now. More responsive in any way.

Of course, I was using a very old FW version until yesterday .....

Just got back mine from service.

Had alot of problems with it losing connection and nobody could call me.
Tested before the same rom that was for "test only" and dident do anything.

Got it back now and they just said that they put in the new rom and it work.
I dint think so but i hope it works now.

I got the rom v 1.34.251.1 and radio v 1.38.00.10

zaph42 , i realize that you have a dopod 595 variant of htc breeze and flashed to the latest ROM: 1.34.251.1 Radio: 1.38.00.10. how's everything going on now with the new ROM? i have a few questions for you:

1. is the front camera working?
2. how's the stability and speed of the new ROM?
3. compared to the old AKU2.3 ROM, do you think the new ROM is worth the upgrade? (what AKU is it? 3.3?)
4. is everything working like it should?
5. how's the battery life?
6. UMTS, GSM - all about connectivity. any issues here?

and finally, can you please take some time and post a detailed instructions set on how you flash your dopod 595 to the latest ROM. your help and patience is greatly appreciated. im tired of waiting for dopod to release ROM upgrades because they NEVER DO!

just downloaded the new version.

First the SPL, then it rebooted.
Then it never came back in WM5, just hang on HTC logo.
Put it now in boot loader mode and started the second installation.
5% so far.

First_file_MTeoR_EUR_1.09SPL
Second_file_MTeoR_Upgrade_1.34.251.1_1.38.00.10_EU R_SHIP

Please note that this installation contains two separate files.
You need to run these files in a specific order to make it work.

The installation order is:
1) First_file_MTeoR_EUR_1.09SPL.exe
2) Second_file_MTeoR_Upgrade_1.34.251.1_1.38.00.10_EU R_SHIP.exe

Please read the PDF file for further installation instruction.

I got the rom v 1.34.251.1 and radio v 1.38.00.10 installed.

However, I cannot find the wireless modem option any longer so I can use my MTeoR as USB or BT modem with my laptop. Can anyone confirm this, or tell me where I can find this option again?

Correct. You have to set up a connection with the internet through Internet Connection Sharing or Shared Internet. You can find that one within Start. When you have established the connection, start PAN on your laptop (Bluetooth) and it works. That is, on my laptop running Vista it works fine.

You and up at the HTC boot screen and nothing hapens?
Then put it in boot loader mode, hold in the camera button when u press the power button and it will boot in boot loader mode.

And then do the second installation.

Hi, it's effectively what i did. On bootloader i have IPL v1.00 and SPL V1.09.

So i guess the first installation worked cause i have now SPL v1.09. But when i'm trying the second one, i have an 294 error : invalid vender id.

I tried the upgrade utility.exe with all the rom.nbh i have (1.32, 1.34, 1.13) but i have always the same error message.

Could you help me please ? Thanks a lot. ++

ok now have flashed the ROM: 1.34.251.1 Radio: 1.38.00.10 ...

not with the exe... didn't worked...
mteor gone into bootloader and then the flashingtool says no more connection ....

have than renamed the BREEZE_HTCEUR_1.34.251.1_SHIP.nbh file to BREEIMG.nbh and copied to storage card... turned off phone, turn on in bootloader, wait... 20 min... all worked ...

nice .... filled up now the rest of the infos of this rom in wiki...

edit2:

ok as i can see now i have a new IPL 1.00 & SPL 1.10.0000

The latest version of the 1.34 update has two files that you should run - the first one to update the SPL, the second one to update the actual firmware. It is described in the readme.
The original update required the new SPL to work, but there wasn't any way to update the SPL since the updater didn't work with old one that was in the phone... But there was a workaround for that as well. See the first few pages of this thread.

Have you tried this:

"I've downloaded the 1.34 and the 1.32 roms. Then I copied the 1.34 nbh file into the directory of 1.32 and renamed the 1.34 rom into the nbh filename of the 1.32 rom (something with TEST). So i've updated my MteoR with the 1.34 rom, using the 1.32 utility and it did the job."

This worked for me.

For my part it is going wrong after the first upgrade (SPL 1.09). After that i have and error when i try to upgrade the 1.34 file( error 294 Invalid vender id).

I guess it is because the CID of the file isn't the same of the CID of my mobile phone. Do you have any solution for me ? Thanks a lot. ++

Yes of course, no one upgrade file works for me, i tried the 1.34, 1.32, 1.13...

I also tried to rename one of them (BEEIMG.nbh) and put it on the sotrage card, but i didn't work.

I have a problem of CID. Does anyone have a solution for me ? Thanks a lot. ++

Yes, i flashed my mteor without any problem 2 months ago. I flashed some Qtek s100 and s200.

The CID of the upgrade file is QTEK_Z12 and I guess my CID is VODAP304 because it's a vodafone mobile phone and it comes from spain, but i didn't try to know the CID with the command info2 because i don't know how it works.

Ok,

first, because the info2 command...

just turn off the breeze, then hold the cam button and press the power button...

now the phone should start up with a 3 color screen!

there you should have 2 lines above! say it to us!

on the bottom you have a line where the text "Serial" stands, now you can plug in the usb connection!

just check that under options of active sync the allow usb connection is turned off!

now start mtty and choose the usb port for connection... just hit enter and you see a "cmd>" promt...

there you can enter the bootloader commands (just look in the wiki of breeze)

the phone then should go into bootloader ipl should show something with des ... the spl 2.05 ... maybe the cid bypassing works with that spl version..

try to put the sspl breeimg on sd card (you need a other device with µSD or a pc card reader...)

if it works you have the sspl flashed to your device! than it should be supercided and you are able to flash an unsigned nbh!

after that you can reflash the 1,34,251,1 rom...

maybe just look into wiki (to extract only the OS.nb file and flash that only!!):

Isn't is possible to modify the CID of the upgrade (1.34) file with an hex editor and then to run it with a RUU updater which doen't need a signed file ?

io i didn't heard something like to edit the cid version... because i think thats not only the readable part of hexcode what is determine the cid... there is maybe somewhere a "code" and we did not know that...

the best thing what you can do is to just get on an correct version for your vodafone device...

just cal the vodafon service and ask they for a software for the mteor!! the must have one!!

after you have that ... you can run it ... and when you flashed it an can enter the windows than you can ran sspl and update to the 1.34er rom!!

this is the easiest way... all other is only time consuming...

last thing if the dumping not works wich i expect because when you dump you can't dump the rom like you became it shipped, means in nbh format wheres the cid coded in!

send it to repair as long as you have warranty°!

the flash their rom and all is good!°!

or just threat they with costumer protection or a law... we have some here in austria!!!

have you clearly said the problem what you have???

you haven't done something that brokes your warranty because the "qtek" shipped rom is freely available ... and exactly the cid thing should prevent you from such errors...

but when the all produces crap...

just write them a bad mail or better call them and let you connect to some higher persons!!

But I'm just a little confused...

When I'm powering on my mteor holding the camera button, the screen with the three colored stripes appear... not the screen explained in the guide...

:p I've found the problem...

I'd only erased the microsd, and the put on it the .nbh file... but probably is not the same thing...
Once I'd formatted the card the bootoader loaded succesfully... I'm upgrading right now, I'm keeping my finger crossed :p

all went perfectly... the only thing that I'd noticed is that the battery seems to run down very-very fast (about 8 hour with just 2 phone call for a total of 20 minutes of conversation and a single play with bubblets), and I don't if it's for the Rom update or for the skin that I've loaded (a skin with facade,smartmon,icalendar & fizztraveller plugin)

Now I'm doing some test, using various skins with various plugins: when I've done it I'll post the result.

This RUU is for phones with CID "QTEK_A07" (Russian & Eastern Europe markets). WWE edition RUUs are CIDed "QTEK_Z12".

You can flash this one using SSPL (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306165). This SSPL will allow you to flash everything but Radio ROM. You can use older WWE RUU 1.34.251.1 to flash radio because they share the same Radio ROM (1.38.00.10).

After flashing this RUU phone will be in Russian language and regional settings. To change it punch in the following sequnce: "Start menu" > number "9" > number "0" > number "2"... The first combo box is for selecting phone language.

I didn't know how to do that , but after having checked a number of threads etc this is what I did:

1. Extracted the files in the exe file RUU_BREE100_1.34.251.1_1.38.00.10_HTCEUR_SHIP using WinRAR.
2. Did the same with RUU_BREE100_1.30.251.1_1.16.00.10_HTCEUR_Ship
3. Removed the nbh file from the 1.30 directory and replaced it with the file from the 1.34 directory.
4. Ran ROMUpgradeUt.exe

working very well, but no chance to get google/my location :D
