MrVanX,
This is nice. Though I do not need it anymore, since I had to read the wiki and all the posts to get to where I am now, I am sure it will help reduce some of the noob questions.
I do not regret doing what I had to do, since I learned a lot during the process.
But thanks for taking the time to make this.

Thank you for the guide, I really do appreciate it.
One question though after doing a search and checking the wiki.
I checked my bootloader and it is 1.10 Oli.
I was going to load the HardSPL v3 prior to upgraded to the 1.38 radio.
One of the choices of bootloader is NOT 1.10 Oli...does this mean I do not need to do the HardSPL? Or do I still need it?
Thanks in advance...and if I missed the thread I'm prepared to smack myself across the face 20 times in restitution.
:)

You will notice in "how to upgrade HardSPL v3" the guide says "if your version is 1.10.oli or 1.11.oli select the BLUE OPTION". When you run the HardSPL v3 installer you select the force sspl option. OK?? (i changed the wording of the guide)

What a great guide - would have saved me endless trouble when I started upgrading (including my brick - repaired courtesy of Vodafone:) ) - but then again I've also learned loads the harder way.
Can you just write a guide on Un-Bricking, Cooking Roms, Installing apps, Creating Cabs, Searching, Reading the Wiki etc, etc :D :D (Hmmm, now there's a project)
Only kidding, but maybe if we can link this guide and the Unbricking thread to be the first thing a new member sees when they sign up as a member to the forums we may see less 'help I'm a fuckwit' threads:rolleyes:

Excellent guide!
Just wondering, will you be creating a "downgrade guide" for those who wish to revert everything back to their original state (OS ROM, Radio ROM & bootloader) for warranty purposes?
Thanks!

The links for the Radio are all working fine, are you using Winrar (http://www.rarlab.com/)?? You need it for opening the radio package.

Hi
I'm quite a noob, so I apologize if i ask for something already mentionned.
I'm on SPL1.09 after install of LVSW 03/20.
I want to install HardSPL v4.
- This means only the bootloader files of the rom will be modified. Am I right ?
I need to check the yellow line.
But do I need to check "Is it hardSPL" ? What is this for ?
Then, as I understand, if i install a new ROM with radio, it'll modify the SPL again ?
Thanx

Install HardSPLv4 as in the guide (http://www.mrvanx.myzen.co.uk/hermes_guide/HardSPL.html), only your SPL will change. For more info read the HardSPL thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722) ;) But i definatly recommend flashing HardSPLv4 because SPL 1.09 is a brick-maker (from recent events).

This was a lot of help. I have read the Wiki and the forums and the sheer amount of information that keeps changing so fast makes it rather confusing. But you manged to pull the up-to-date stuff together in one place and make it a easy and linear process. Thank you very much!
I followd all your steps and all portions of my 8525 are now updated. I had previously just done some patches and the OS upgrade which had left me fighting some bugs. Now it seems a lot smoother.
Thanks again for your hard work, and of course the work of the people that make the made the programs that went into it.

I have some basic questions :
- I actually have LVSW 03/13 version install (20070313_HermesWM6_LVSW_edition_WM6Style.exe)
- I have upgraded to HardSPL 1.30 yesterday (no problem).
- I would like to install LVSW version 03/26 so I have downloaded the 20070326_RUU_Hermes_WWE_3.23.0.2_only_OS.exe file
- When I execute it, it asks me to specify which SPL version I have.
In your guide, you say that I have to use Force Using SSPL....
1) Why shouldn't I select SPL 1.11/1.13/1.30 New Bootloader instead ?
2) If I select this one, does it mean that it's reinstall SPL 1.30 on my Hermes ?
3) What's the difference between selecting Force Using SSPL and SPL 1.11/1.13/1.30 ???
Thanks in advance and I'm sorry if these questions are basic.

Sorry, but what is HardSPL and how will i know which version i have? Using a HTC TyTN Hermes 200
This is explained in the Guide......
The first stage of this process is to determine which SPL(bootloader) you have on your device. To do this press and hold both the side OK button and the power button and then press the reset button by putting the stylus into the hole in the bottom of the device. Your device will enter the bootloader and display which IPL and SPL versions are on the device. Make a note of the SPL version on the device, we will use this in a minute.
mrvanx
27th March 2007, 03:21 PM
notice the line that reads:
This stage is crucial to allow (fairly) safe flashing of new roms/radios etc...
This modified bootloader allows the flashing of any ROM to the device (regardless of the CID) and can help to prevent damage to the device if a failed radio flash occurs (since it doesn't read the CID a corrupt one will not present a problem).
Kinda the gist of it, but it also protects against bad NAND blocks in the device now.
For people with older versions of HardSPL (1.10.oli, 1.11.oli, 1.13.oli) get a ROM that has HardSPLv4 and flash it forcing SSPL (we want the new SPL version). If you already have HardSPLv4 (1.30.olipro) you can check the green option and tick the box below it. But forcing SSPL will be ok aswell if it is OS only in the ROM.
Il change my guide slightly, just makes it complicated for newbs to understand?!

Its the same file.
The filenaming scheme is that it is the 1.38.00.10 radio only. And it uses des's SSPL to push the radio to the device. I didn't mention this info in the guide as i see no reason to.
Just follow the guide word for word and you will be fine! :D

For version 1.01MFG use the RED OPTION
For version 1.04,1.06 and 1.09 use the YELLOW OPTION
For version 1.11 use the GREEN OPTION
For versions 1.10.oli,1.11.oli or 1.13.oli use the BLUE OPTION.

I followed the first 2 stages of your guide - upgraded to HardSPL v5 and radio 1.38.00.10 with no problems.
I'm on the Upgrading to WMVI Black v1.2 stage but the screen I'm getting does not match the one shown on the guide.
The first screen is the same, I select the green option and tick purple box, but the next screen is saying: "Please be aware that this flasher is intended solely for SPL 1.11 and you MUST have 1.11 Hard-SPL installed in order to flash any unsigned files." This is different from the one shown on the guide.
Did I miss something? I tried rebooting my phone and checking that the SPL version was correct and it shows as 1.35Olipro just like in the guide.
Hopefully I'm missing something obvious, but I thought I'd check as I'm a n00b at this and I dont fancy bricking my phone!
Oh and my phone is a T-Mobile MDA VarioII.

Yes like i said it was the version of SSPL which the installer used.
(this is in the various threads so please do a search)
SSPL by Des is a secondary bootloader which is pushed to the device by the RUU, It does the flashing process instead of your embedded SPL (HardSPL) and on the screen it will display "1.09.des". This bypasses the CID checks etc...

Hi I am a noob here and so I have maybe a stupid question.
I want to cook a German version of the the new
RUU_Hermes_QTEK_WWE_2.11.255.1_102_6275_1.38.00.10 _108_Ship.exe

But I don`t know how to do this. I still like to use WM5.
WM6 gave me some problems with non functional features.
Can someone give my a "walk-trough" and my last question is wth. is AKU???

Today is the first time I've looked at changing anything on my jasjam. Your guide was a "pot of gold". It was simple, clear and most importantly, up to date!
There is a tonne of information on this site but like most good forums it can be very difficult to find the exact answers when you are new.
Unfortunately the process did not go smoothly for me(first Hardspl failed part way through, worked second time, then the radio upgrade failed and left it stuck in boot mode for a while, then it took multiple attempts to get WM6 on to it) and I had a few stressful hours. But eventually I got WM6 on and it is working well. Thanks again.

WOW thats unlucky even for a first timer! Is there any reason why your flashing processes have failed so frequently?? Is the USB port you use dodgy? or is your PC vulnerable to crashing fairly often??
Glad my 'pot o gold' was worth the read :D

you may need to repackage the ROM using the CustomRUU by olipro. Since the original orange rom would probably use a (probably VERY) old RUU (Rom Update Utility) it might not agree with our newer version of SPL (1.40.olipro).
open the RUU (the orange ROM .exe) using winrar and you should see a file ending in .nbh?? Extract that onto your desktop and download the customRUU program, try flashing again and choose autodetect when you run it. Your SPL will remain to be HardSPL but the rest will be downgraded including the radio and OS.
Before you do this why would you want to?? Also im not sure if you really should downgrade your radio, dunno what the effect would be.

I'm not sure why it failed so often. I tried different usb ports and the PC didn't miss a beat otherwise during any of the attempts. I've never had any problem with this machine. When trying to flash WM6 I would get Error [302] after only a few percent completed.
The failed radio flash was the one that had me really worried though. All of the terminology, acronymns etc. are hard to pick up when it is all new.
Still, it's one way to learn! :)

mrvanx,
I would guess there are many of us out here who are not exactly uninitiated to the rigors of code writing but who are sufficiently inexperienced about the Hermes OS that we are quite hesitant to dive in and use the ROMs appearing on the XDA site. Your guide to upgrading was essential for me to take advantage of the wonderful and inventive work done by the ROM makers. I really appreciate this site for it's commitment to moving these devices forward and for helping people like myself to take advantage of their work. Thanks very much.

Just FYI I've completed a successful update to Pro Black 2.0 :D thanks to your guide :) .
one small difference was that the ROM update did not register the SPL version of 1.40-OliPro and presented a warning that the updater should only be run against devices running SPL versions 1.11 or later  . I was confident that the SPL version I had *was* higher so I proceeded with the installation.
Not sure if you want to add this to the guide - in my excitement I neglected to take a screen shot :( so perhaps this is just for reference.

I got the same screen as you as well, it popped up in red lettering. I just went ahead with it anyways and everything went fine. Might want to upgrade the guide to mention this though so it doesn't mess up any other n00bs.
Any idea when we will see the Windows Vista guide? I'm itching to get rid of XP, but am just holding on to it for flashing purposes at the moment.
Thanks for all your hard work with the guides, I got into XDA-DEV a few weeks before you started making them, and they sure would have made things easier to begin with! But its probably just as well I learnt how to do things the hard way and Read hundreds of pages on here and the wiki...

I have a DOPOD 838 Pro and had flash many different things in the past and was excited to see the new boot loader that would hopefully prevent "brick making". I quickly put the SPL1.40Olipro on my phone no problems. I next went to flash the radio to 1.38 and here is where the problems began. Following the directions in the very nice guide I got to the point were it was starting to download the file but it never moved off 0%. I waited 2 hours and finally pulled the plug. Well needless to say I now have a semi brick that is on life support. The phone is stuck in the boot loader mode and will not do anything for me. I can talk to it using mtty but do not have any clue how to rececitate it back to life. Please help a brother with some trick I might try to bring it back from the brink of death.

Unless you have problems with the ROM I don't think it's necessary to re-run the upgrade, but check your SPL. If it isn't 1.40 Oli then upgrade this part only with HardSPL V6 (1.40 Oli) from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722.

I noticed that the number preceding each of the parts of my Cingular 2.06 ROM were slightly different (i.e. my extROM filename is 04_ExtROM.nb whereas yours lists 05_ExtROM.nb). ANOTHER guide LOL!
How to downgrade to WM5 from WM6.

I have not tried downgrading or probably will never need to downgrade the WM but I thought the way Hard-SPL works that you can take any nbh and flash it to any version either upgrade or downgrade without having to do all those step extracting and rebuilding the nbh unless of course you only wanted to downgrade the OS but keep the radio and splashscreen intacted.
From my understanding that your bootloader will not be overwritten unless you select SSPL so you wouldn't need to remove the bootloader from the nbh package either.
If your having problem with cooked ROMs and need to downgrade but plan to flash other future cooked roms then I would just keep the Hard-SPL on it and downgrade using Hard-SPL settings so the bootloader doesn't get overwritten. and Hard-SPL will always be on your device for future flashings.
There no real reason to downgrade bootloader unless you need to send in for factory warrenty repairs.

Yer the reason i guide through the process of extracting the various elements is so that user can downgrade back to wM5 without losing thier upgraded Radio and SPL.....obviously if they wish to make it TOTALLY like the had it before (for instance if they wish to claim warranty!??) i do comment on downgrading the radio and SPL also.
But the guide does indeed describe downgrading to WM5, you get to keep an upgraded Radio and also HardSPL.

The best way to answer your question is to upgrade to ANY of the WM6 roms, try it out then try ALL the others. The best ROM depends on what you use.
rvc
6th April 2007, 05:46 AM
MrVanx's upgrade guide indicates that the guide must be followed "exactly".
Upgrade guide v4.lvsw, in the section entitled "Upgrading to LVSW:", indicates
1. "If you have not installed HardSPLv5 then go back and install it"
it then directs
2. "select the Green Box".
followed by a dialog box which should state;
3. "The RUU will allow you to load ANY NBH image onto your Hermes since it will load the SSPL Bootloader for the flashing process."
Having loaded HardSPLv6 early on in the v4.lvsw process is one actually to downgrade to v5 to load the OS?
No green box was to be found.
The following message appeared in red in lue of item 3 above.
"Please be aware that this flasher is intended solely for SPL 1.11 AND YOU MUST HAVE 1.11 Hard-SPL installed in order to flash any unsigned files." in place of item 3 above.
Since this machine now has SPL 1.40.Olipro installed AND YOU MUST HAVE 1.11 Hard-SPL installed, combined with the other deviations from the user guide it seemed that this was not "exactly" a bad point to stop.
What gives?
mrvanx
6th April 2007, 12:52 PM
....downgrade to v5 to load the OS?
Minor typo, fixed
and when i say to tick the box and select 1.11..............thats what you do..........on the next page i say to click next.
Having carried out the upgrade several hundred times i figured saying to click next would be fairly simple!?

Thanks so much for the guides, and the hard work. I have tried 3 times to get the Next download HardSPLv6 from here, Each time I try to run the RUUWrapper.exe, I get an application error and it fails to run. Is the compressed archive file still good?

Thanks!

This is not my first time doing this, but this is the first time one of the applications I have downloaded has failed. I may not post a lot, but I am no noobie.
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click OK to terminate the application"
That is the EXACT error code.

The guys who develop CustomRUU are always up-to-date and it might need 3.0 now. The best thing you can do is install all three, 3.0 is a small file compared to the others.

The "Easy Custom Splashscreen guide" looks just as good as the rest of your guides - I read all the relevant forum threads and all of your guides, then took the plunge and "went Black" on Saturday using them.....sweet as a nut!!!
I've taken a fancy to a couple of the artistic images in JJ's "RFA" post (Request for Artwork ;) ), so I'll give your guide a run through this evening.
Just one question....why does the device have to be "HERM200" - mine's a HERM100 - is it just a requirement of Dutty's utility??
Thanks for all the hard work mate - have a bit of a rest now before you gotta re-do the guides for Black 2.5 :D

I downloaded HardSPLv6 from the link in the guide several time to make sure it wasnt a dodgy download but it extracts fine, I just dont get the screen shown in the guide.

I'm with Sco0by. And no, it is different.
You have no option to select any of the SPL version radio buttons. The only items that are available for interaction is the "Force using SPL" radio button, and the "Is it Hard-SPL?".
If you select "Is it Hard-SPL?" the "next" button doesn't activate. Only if you select "Force using SPL" does the next button become available.

@MrVanx - I went to try your Splashscreen guide last night, but got stuck fairly early on......it seems I have to register on the forum hosting Dutty's tool in order to download it - which is not something I really wanted to do :( Is it hosted anywhere else (like the xda-devs ftp server?) or could we ask Dutty to let it be hosted there??
Bit of a pedantic point, I know, but I really don't want to become a forum member of a site I'll never ever use, just so I can download an (unrelated) utility.
Suggestions on a postcard, please ;)

I have a few comments to the splashscreens guide:
1) nb_image_converter needed comdlg32.ocx file to work, here (http://windowsxp.mvps.org/comdlg32.htm) is how to download and register this file if there is more unfortunate users.
2) running black 2.0 pro I decided to change both splashscreens with ones I created. Using your guide I ended up with first splash showing correctly and second splash showing my splash screen first and stock black windows splashscreen second - effectively increasing boot time by some five seconds by showing two succesive splashscreens.
Any comments on how to run only one subsplash at a time are welcome as I prefer to run slideshows AFTER the phone boots up :D

Mr Vanx, I just got a tytn in the mail, i've grown fond of wm6 from my wizard so i wanted it on here. Anyway, I followed the vista upgrade steps per your directions, worked fine, syncs, etc. I then tried the spl change. I get to the final step when I click update per your directions, it reboots the phone to bootloader mode, but ends up failing. It did change some settings, my original settings were:
ipl-1.01
spl-1.06
now they are,
ipl-sspl by Des
SPL-1.09.ds
They do not match your final graphic and i assume this is due to the program failing to update me, the exact error (more or less) is:

Could I also thank you for the hard work you have put into your guide.
I think the main barrier to my upgrading was a distinct lack of 'step by step' guides. I know the wiki is there but there is nothing like a bit of hand holding for a noob like me.
They say a picture speaks a thousand words and your guide certainly gave me the confidence to try it myself.
I purposely kept from posing noob questions in what is a very 'dev' environment but now I am enjoying the benefits on WM6 (LVSW) on my tytn and the experience has been incredible. It really is like a new phone!

Try searching google for WMDC. This should lead you to a working Vista compatible version/next generation of ActiveSync. The WMDC will load ROMS, but you also need to read mrvanx's guide on flashing in Vista. This will require changing drivers to flash, then changing them back to sync. But hey, it's in the guide.

Where is says specify which SPL version you have, I click autodetect, and I get this message:
ActiveSync required - in order to use this feature, your PDA must be running windows mobile, you may need to confirm this check on your PDA also etc..
I tick OK, , and click Yes on on my PDA (for ItsUtils.dll), and get an error saying it couldnt query the device, and that there is an unknown version and I should pick SSPL.

pick the third option (1.10,1.11,1.135,1.40) and tick the box (is it HardSPL?). Thats all you need to do.
If you update your versions of .net framework this may remedy the problems with autdetect.

There may be a delay for the ROM guides, problem is using HardSPL v7 means the CustomRUU no longer recognises the SPL version, the latest version of CustomRUU is NOT packaged with the roms released today and yesterday.
Ive created the thread here in Hermes 6 forum to try and get the chefs to repackage using CustomRUU 4.3. This way HArdSPLv7 upgrades can go smoothly before the ROMs.

I tried that a many of times also I'm on the brink of trying something new but just need confirmation
1. i extracted IPL n SPL from hard spl v7
2. extracted n converted black 2.5 rom to NB
3. USING KOCH I put together all those files into making a new rom including a new splash screens but I never done this before just an idea that came up.

Granted, the link doesn't work (MrVanx musta missed that one during the site redesign last week ;) ), but if it did, it would point you to the attached file....and you'll find the 'padding.nb' file in there

CUSTEL WM6 Pro 1.2 (http://www.mrvanx.org/hermes_guide/custel)
3DES.2 (http://www.mrvanx.org/hermes_guide/3des)
Applies to all WM Roms where "Allow non-certified applications" is not default.
If you add a non-certicated plugin to Today screen, your device will not boot, unless you first disable certificate checking using HTWeakC -> System -> Allow non-certified applications and click to tick it, then save and exit.
An example is today plugin is CityTime - this is non-certificated.
What happens is the pre-today splash screen comes up and the prompt to permit this plugin to load is hidden behind it but holding up boot.
Only fix I found is hard reset & re-enter settings, reload programs...

Thanks for the guide, I was afraid to upgrade because I was running Vista. I successfully upgraded the bootloader to V7 2.10, the radio to 1.41, and the ROM to Cingular Black 2.5.
My only issue was after the upgrade I couldn't sync with Vista. Vista never could find a driver for my device. I couldn't find an answer in your guide or in the thread.
I tried a few different things that didn't work. I eventually tried updating the driver and searching the entire C:/Windows folder including subfolders. This found a driver that worked and I was able to sync again. My only concern is that my 8525 now shows up in Device Manager as Hermes Black 2.5 instead of the old HTC USB Device, and it also shows up in the Portable Devices section instead of the old Windows Mobile Devices (err something)
Is this anything I should be concerned about? Should I install a different driver? Can I go back to the old pre-yourguide driver?

Hey MrVanX
Good work with those guides.
I just am a bit dissapointed the old 1.40 radio upgrade guide disappeared.
This is clearly the most stable radio at this moment.
Keep up the good work!

Im currently in the process of repackaging all the radios available on the wiki, they will all be able to detect all SPL versions (including the new HardSPL).

BTW, i like to traslate the guides to spanish, cause the spanish Hermes community is very big and is growing up very rapid.
Can you host the traslated spanish site?
If you can't, i'll search for a host.

Is there anywhere I can download the original HTC drivers?

I am having issues with Vista... The driver won't digitally sign and now in the Device Manager it says... Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
I followed all directions and installed the drivers from the Hermes Guide. http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=23&Itemid=27
I used the wceusbshx64.inf since I have Windows Vista Ultimate x64. Any ideas?

mrvanx-
would you be interested in adapting your guides so there were upgrade guides for trinity (very minor differences, really)? I pm'd you but you probably get all kinds of crazy PM's so thought i'd post here. I could help get the info, screenshots, etc, if you want.
if you're too busy, then alternatively would you be open to someone adapting your guide so we could have something in the Trinity forum? basically, a LOT of noob questions floating around, and this i think would help stem the tide. :D

I am running Vista Ultimate 64bit as well, and I cannot even get the Hard-SPL-v7 installed. I have the sync working, but indeed when I try to install the SPL update it asks if I want to run the program on the 8525 and goes to the tri-color screen but then the program fails on my PC.

@MrVanx
Great job on the guides.
One suggestion: In all your WM6 upgrade guides you suggest using Radio rom 1.41 by default.
Judging by the feedback in this forum, radio 1.41 is known to have problems. Even radio 1.40 has problems (unstable data connections for me). Seems the 1.40 and 1.41 radios are tuned for US networks.
Radio rom 1.38 seems to be much better for the rest of the world. Why not update your guides to make a note of this (i.e. you may face radio problems with 1.41 and 1.40, so use 1.38 instead). I'm guessing many people will immediately upgrade to WM6 and radio 1.41, then start experiencing radio problems and dont know whether to pinpoint the cause to the new WM6 rom or the radio.
Just something you might want to consider. Keep up the good work!
EDIT: Started finding unstable data connection problems with radio 1.40, reverted to radio 1.38.

I can't speak for the "Chefs" that build ROMs and I've only used the LVSW (19-5-07) version so far, but as a noob who's read a few hundred threads in the past week, here's my take.
It looks like they are built from a vanilla MS release of WM6 (a.k.a. CE 5.2?).
After that the differences are in the choice of software components & driver versions that have been packaged in, then the audio/graphical customisations to make them look nice & individual - or perhaps in the Black line of ROMs almost like a series of a product.
There's a thread running now which lists the names & versions of the software in the LVSW ROM + one other as a comparison. That would give you a good idea of what goes into a ROM.
Cheers, Oggy.

My understanding is that some are cooked from the windows version for the Hermes that has been sent to the carriers (Orange etc) for customization and distribution. Others have been cooked from a combination of roms for devices and hence may contain updated/different components, but it appears may also contain the occassional glitch that needs ironing out.
Others are leaked versions used by Microsoft development staff and hence are more advanced potentially than the released versions, but should be considered more beta versions, as they are in development still....
I believe Black is based on the version sent to carriers for the Hermes (with maybe the odd tweak from elsewhere), not qualifed to talk about the others.
See the thread re the fake kernels....

Curious as to why Elf gets a guide while the other LVSW variants (Sleuth, vp3G) don't. :( Personally, I think the LVSW guide is sufficient for all LVSW-based ROMs, but I'm sure the nuances between the flavors elude some of the newer folks. :)

I made the guides based on what is requested......if you want i can make a vp3g guide?
vp3G
3rd June 2007, 04:46 PM
Oh, OK... didn't realize it was by request. No, I don't believe vp3G (or Sleuth or Elf, for that matter) deserves anything more than perhaps a mention within the LVSW guide as being a variant of the original.
IMHO, us "second-tier" chefs who recook/repackage a "first-tier" chef's product need to be careful that giving our own versions prominence at XDA doesn't discourage the original chef from releasing new ROMs. I, for one, don't possess the resources to deliver new OS builds, for instance.

@MrVanx, yeah I wouldnt mind a vp3G guide as well since it is Cingular optimized and Im willing to bet there are more Cingular/AT&T 8525 users out there.
Thx MrVanx for the great guides, your making my new found hobby easier to learn.
@vp3G, you going to update your ROM thread with the AT&T Optimized name since it is no longer called Cingular? Just curious...
Oh almost forgot, first post and I want to say thanks for being here xda-developers. I have had this phone (Cingular 8525 branded, HERM100) now for about a week and Im loving it. Currently using the official HTC AT&T 8525 rom with Radio 1.41.00.10 and HardSPLv7 (2.10 Olipro) and IPL 1.04. Once I get comfortable with using WM5 AKU 3.5, you can be rest assured Im upgrading to a WM6 rom. Just got to figure out which ones to try first and what software/features I want and dont want... lol
Edit. woa just realized this post is exactly 12hrs to the dot from last post, how weird... haha

MrVanx,
I've used your Vista flashing guide successfully in the past. I have a new machine today and a new install of Vista (it happens to be x64). When I went to the first step of your instructions, putting my Hermes into the BL and plugging it in, I happen to be running Windows Update and there was an updated HTC USB Sync driver dated 5/24/07. I downloaded that driver and ran a RUU and it flashed without issue. Can this possibly be an easier Vista solution or does RUU flashing work without your instructions (I've tried it once before on my old machine and it didn't work unless I used your drivers).
