What phone? Which versions? What else do you have installed?
You have to give us a little more in order to help. Otherwise, we'll just think it is an ID-10-T error. ;)

I'd suggest you upgrade your ROM to the latest version of your provider. I've seen some programs misbehave on 1.xx roms in the past.

You go to the provider's website (cingular i believe) and download their official ROM (2.25) to your computer. Plug your cell into the computer via the USB cable and execute the program. Voila, an upgraded phone.
BTW, all these instructions are in the WIKI and the STICKIES (you might have to look a little).

go to start/settings/today/items
check the status of the today timeout, if it's one hour that might be it.
i really don't know if that is the reason, because i don't know what that setting actually does, but i always wondered?

I've had it to time out @ 12hrs. since I've owned the device. I don't know what this does either, coz I've had the backlight & device power time out disabled since owning, also!

i think you might have to borrow a pc. You don't know anyone who owns a xp? that's all you need.

Another option might be to take it to a Cingular location with the techs on hand. Just tell them you've been having problems with the phone and you'd like the ROM updated. I know they do firmware updates for regular phones, so I don't see why they wouldn't for your phone.
