Unlocking Athena

Hello,

I got several messenges (PN) how I've unlocked my Athena and so I give the answer in a new threat:
I bought it regualary for the full price in Germany, and so unlocking was free for me. If I had bought it with an contract, I would have to pay € 100,--
I didn't find the advice how to unlock it in English, but her is the German page to unlock it officially: http://tmobile.combase-service.de/index.php

Thanks for the pointer re unlocking via tmobile germany for 99euro thankyou very much. However I think the eu and brussels gets too much off us all-ready so I'll wait untill someone with more ability than me works out how to unlock it for a bit less. Like zero. !(o_o)!

The full price in Germany is about € 900,-- but if you bought it without any contract (also to a lower price) you should be able to unlock it for free.
It's necessary to have your bill and the IMEI of your phone.
The German number (don't know if it works for international calls is:
0180 5 330160 (international maybe +49 180 5 330160) but they open at 9 am.
You've to call them and ask for an unlock-code. They will give you a number and you've to fax them your bill and your IMEI to +49 6188828556
It's also important for them to get your name and your e-mail.
If it's not possible to call them because of international, I could do it for you. But then I need your address, your e-mail, your amount you've paid for the phone and your IMEI. I would call them for you and ask for the number. Then I would send you the number so that you could prepare a fax and send it to them to get your unlock-code. Teja

Thanks to Teja who was my mediator, I got my code and successfully unlocked the SIM lock!

Now I feel I have a "complete device" :p

I emailed T-Mobile UK and asked them how to unlock it.

You have to have had an account with them for one month and paid all your bills, and then they will add £15 to your next bill and supply you with the code to SIM Unlock.

Thanks for the tip. I emailed T-mobile last week monday and received the unlock code on thursday (good way to start the easter weekend).

I got my phone from T-mobile 2 weeks ago and i love it its been working very well.
I Just called T-mobile uk and was told that it would cost £15 on my next bill so i have done that and i will let you know how i get on.

Following an advice from Teja, I sent by mail an inquiry to T-Mobile Deutchland and got a code a few days later by e-mail. I have a Dutch device, bought in Rotterdam and I got the unlock code free of charge from Germany.
