:) The solution is uncheck all POIs. TOMTOM will not show POIs in the map, but you will be still be able to be advised of radars proximity (or any other POI you want) or select as destination, etc.
I am testing this solution since a week and works perfectly.

I installed version 6.03 and it works fine now.
I sometimes still get a freeze (about once every 10 or 12 days now) but a quick power off and back on solves this in about 5 seconds. It only happens when starting so I can still trust it in city centres where you really need it.
I recently cleaned some junk files from the tomtom map folder and it has not hung since but it's too early to say if I have a 100% no freezes or not...

I never had any tomtom freezing problems till I deleted my US maps and reinstalled them with the sd card are almost full. so I reformated my sd card and reinstalled the mapset and the tomtom program only and did not have any freezing at all for are 6 hour roadtrip. guessing my problem was caused be the mapset being fragmented because the sd card was almost full when I reintalled the mapset. I don't think this will correct everyones problems but it might help some.

Just to be sure about what we are looking for
I have a TomTom 6.03 freeze with the latest FR GPS ROM…
But it concerns only when I was playing with the menus and settings with TomTom soft (also this can be avoided by switching to another program and coming back when it happens… As clicking the green button for example).
But, when I am not playing with… and I have just a navigation mode… I never had a Freeze.
Will confirm that during the w.e. as I am not using GPS during the week

To stop the freezing just disable all pois alerts on your map's...
you will not seem them on display but still have the sound alert if needed...

All,
I had the freezing problem with TomTom (version 6.03) as well. Installed the attached ATI fix and have been good for the past two weeks!
Hats off to you, Sleuth!

Hi everyone !!
I've install the ATI fix and have the same problem.
The tomtom keeps freezing after a while.
I've 6.030 8.320 and PT and ES Plus map ver 675.1409
My PI is all deactivated.
Install ATI fix
And the problem persists
So, does any of you have a clue what can it be?
Should it be from the map ?
or 2Gb mini card ?
should it be from the radio version ?
Let's hope that we can have some clues about it.
Thanks ,
Rui

How many people have experienced freezing tomtom when the bluetooth is on. The reason I ask is that I've started getting freezes if my bluetooth is on and connected to my parrot handsfree kit. I have been doing a soft reset then it works fine till next time (will have to try the green phone button). I've also got igo installed and that freezes as well sometimes. I remember when i had a xda2i, tomtom would freeze on that and the solution was to use a high speed sd card (used transcend x80) - are any of you using a high speed card and still getting freezes?

Hi all,
When I upgraded my trinity in may, I downloaded Tomtom 6.03 application. Is it necessary to download a new application (of which I read above) upgrade in order to avoid freezing and slowing down?
Thanx

I am surprised to see that people are still talking about TomTom freezing on their Trinities. While using WM5 I installed TomTom 6.03 and the ATI fix. This combo mostly got rid of TomTom freezing up. BUT, if you haven't installed WM6, then you are denying yourself a better phone. The Trinity runs much more stable and faster with WM6 and TomTom has never again locked up. I drove while TomTom was navigating my course for 7 hours straight with no problems. I had lots of POIs turned on as well. On the course of my holidays I repeated the nav workouts and never had a problem. I'll go out on a limb here and suggest you get the latest AX3L WM6 rom and forget about TomTom lock-ups and other problems that plagued WM5.

Hi again.
I think I got the problem solve.
Just change the speed of your GPS to 9600bps, I've never had more freezing problems with tomtom

Well, thanks for your help, but what about breach of warranty if I install wm6 not officially supported by HTC? Once I installed wm6, in case of problems with my trinity may I come back to wm5 before giving it to service?

Oh, Oclan, actually I have sometimes slowing downs more than real freezing, when I digit towns' names. I guess it may depend on mini SD speed, but the fastest I could found was a x80. Some more advices?
Thank you

Hi all,
I had also problems with Tomtom on original mini SD Card. I asked tomtom about this problem, but their answer was rubbish :)
I had 2 problems. To load the europe map caused tomtom to freeze and sometimes, the europe map dissapeard from mini SD Card !?
So i decidet to buy an other mini SD card and now its working. I am using a Kingston 1 GB instead the original miniSD from Tomtom. But i have to use the atifix because scrolling the europe map without the fix caused tomtom to freeze. This hanging problem can also be avoid by pressing the "ok" hardwarebutton and switching back to tomtom again.
Using Verion 6.03.(8320) is a precondition
Hope this helps others to get tomtom working..
