Hi all,
I have a simple question (But with a hard answer).
How easy would it be to strip certain applications from an OS ROM?? I'm thinking about all the useless applications that get installed eg MIDi, SIM manager, and a few others.. in an attempt to free up memory for other applications..
It's a real pain when the OS comes with File explorer, Internet Explorer and Media player for example, when many people install alternative software. I guess stripping these out would be difficult but maybe other applications would be easier to remove????
Is it a straighforward exercise or hideously difficult???
All the best

afaik it's not so difficult to remove files and rebuilt the rom, but I think there might be several registry changes to perform -- for example, if you remove WMP -- and those changes can be harder to locate.
