I am having a major reception issue that started yesterday. I have had my MDA for more than 2 years now, and it has gone through numerous ROM upgrades, the latest being WM6 MB Edition. This ROM had been working great with several of the fixes on the forum applied (battery, etc..). Well yesterday morning I woke up and was checking my phone for emails and notice that I have no reception whatsoever. Now i usually have full bars in my house (Cingular). I checked my wife's Blackberry and sure enough she had full bars. Next I reset, and that did not seem to help much. Throughout the day i would get 1-2 bars maximum and it would drop off quite often. I then upgraded to the 2.61 Radio ROM and same as before, zero bars in my house. So i just did a hard reset and again nothing.

Has anyone experience this problem before. I am pretty puzzled at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

After trying out several radio roms, and a couple of hard resets i finally fixed the problem. Basically the two contact pins for some reason were not in contact with the copper foil on the back side of the phone. The solution was to add a small foil piece in between. That solved it and now I am back to having 4-5 bars at home.

Yeah it took me a while and I almost gave up, and that was the last thing i thought off on my way out this morning.

I almost had myself a good reason to go shopping for another phone.
