View Full Version : How to unhide/hide or lock/unlock Extended Rom in WM6

I've installed PDAVIET latest rom 2.10.01 UNI_FIX2 and Extended ROM is made visible.
This causes a problem with pocket outlook storage.
I've tried all tools to hide ExtROm but none works.
Anyone knows how to do this through software or via registry editing?

Thanks a lot for your cooperation

Darius... I am using WM5 but check for the following registry keys and edit them. It worked for me.

HIDDEN:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\ EXT_FLASHDRV
"Bootphase"=dword:00000001
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ EXT_FLASHDRV
"MountHidden"=dword:00000001

Let us know if it works, would be a handy little fix for some ROMs me thinks and we could stick it in the Registry Tweaks section.

But before you unlock/unhide, backup the orginal Registry (before unlock/unhide), so to hide/lock, just copy back the registry.

Thanks once again phsnake and once again I'm sorry to disappoint you but I don't see a Bootphase key in my registry...maybe I'm not very expert in the matter.

I tried
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"MountHidden"=dword:00000000
"MountHidden"=dword:00000001
and can't hide extended_rom.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\ TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"Bootphase"=dword:00000001
If "Bootphase"=dword:00000002 I have two ext_rom: Extended_Rom and Extended_Rom2)
(ROM - WM6 RUS with Radio 1.15.00 from DarkForce)

if U set mount hidden=1 it should do it if not last think i can think of is

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ TRUEFFS_DOC1]
"Folder"="Xtended_ROM"

i gues U need for mails 2B saved in Mem.Card instead of memory or ExtRom

In my HTC apache wm5 aku3.5:

A:

to unhide the extended rom, do the following:

HKLM\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC1

Change the DWORD Value of "MountHidden" to 0 to unhide the extended rom.

B:

To hide:

Change to 1.

The softwares in the extended rom still work. But you can't see the files in the extended rom after you hide the rom.

My Voda V1640 won't unlock too using the extended ROM unlockers mentioned. Found attached file & voila finally unlocked this UNI.

No problem mate. BTW, what UNI variant do you have? Is it T-Mobile (I see Orange provider in your profile). Just wondering since it looks like the European variants of UNI (like this Vodaphone) had different reactions to some tools made for the O2 Exec or Dopod UNI variants!

Hi King !
Hold your crown - all suggestions from this forum failed for my HTC QTek 2020 - WM6 (Himalaiya).
I then had to get rid of the visible RAMDisk storage, so I went to registry and changed another value in another branch:

HKLM\System\Storage Manager\Profiles\RAMDisk
from: AutoMount=dword:00000001
to: AutoMount=dword:00000000

After soft reset RAMDisk has disappeared :) Good work Wolverine! :D :cool:

Someone here asked what kind of registry editing tool he could use - my answer: Use Total Commander 2.0 - free for PDAs
