I do not believe that this is WM6 on a trinity. I think this is the Crossbow Wisbar Advance Skin that I use with a fake Info Screen?!.

actually thats all correct, 3 types of WM6, Standard is for Smartphones, Classic is for PDAs and Professional is for Phone PDAs and it is built on CE v5.2 not 6, that will be Photon.

... nobody did that using this device yet.
Thats not that easy without having that device, but I'll try to find a way over the weekend.

I suppose you got the device that way and you dont possess the ROM image, right?
(cos it would be much easier to extract the files from the image)

I need only xip section... my rom has a video call and voip included.. And i think if i add new xip to it, it will boot in normally way!!!
Now i have new wwe build 17913 (btw, it has new office that opens Office2007 documents), and if i have only xip, i will able to rebuild new CE 5.2.1413 (build 17913). (already done on my wizard)

yes, you are absolutly right. So he needn't to use these methods. I described him another easiest way to dump rom(testdump from mamaich - rulezzzz!!). But output files isn't in flashable format. So i'll add some kind of 'header' to it and fill with 'bad blocks'. But I'll try first to reconstruct a xip and add it to ma rom, im sure for 70% that my rom will boot and we we'll see working wm6 )

It's a provider in Taiwan, CHT carries all Dopod(HTC) phones.

But that video would take a very very very long time to make. And then we would still be able to spot the edits if we examined closely. But there is nothing in this video that is visually suspect.

Think, he would have to make either a program that filled the whole screen and replicated the OS for the few windows he opens and all the tabs must work, the start menu would have to work. Either that or he has implanted a perfectly motion matched video of WM6 on another phone. Both are ridiculous chores and would take far more effort than someone would ever realistically submit to.

Well, this I believe. I don't believe, however, that HTC will make WM6 upgrades for so many existing phones including the inferior P3300 and the older Tytn and not for the P3600, it makes no sense. I have no proof, it is just a calculated guess. I've seen posts from respected members in other forums hinting that Dopod (hence HTC) have WM6 in the works for the P3600...we'll see.

Matterhorn, it does make sense in a cynical logic. If the P3600 gets the wm6 upgrade then there is no point in buying the P3300 so probably they would be left with lots of P3300 stock. Also the future crop of phones will be harder to sell, since the main additional feature of these new phones will be that they are wm6 phones. For years and years companies have been artificially handicapping their products to make sure that there is certainly a desirable feature missing, so that the customer will continue to want to upgrade.

People who say they have the wm6 for p3600 / 810 dissapear, and some ppl make new accounts to support wat they said in their existing account. Dopod have confirmed they are releasing a WM6 ROM in approx. 2 months (more like 1.5 months now) and so therefore they will certainly be testing that ROM before releasing it.

There is evidence that someone has received perhaps one of these test ROMs or atleast a WM6 ROM (ovosleep 1 and 2) and for what its worth it looks like pretty good evidence.

For the french ROM i think it would be a little hard since the "orginal" rom was in english and i don't think many phones have a french WM6 rom but heh, i don't know shit ^^

i hope you wont be offended with this but that is why i said you(+lvsw) could never create a working rom without another rom beeing leaked first...

porting a rom is trivial in most cases.. replace xip partition, stripping drivers, adding drivers.

Umm, I wouldn't go flashing anything, especially since he hasn't released a flashable rom... yet...that file that was posted is not for user flashing.

I finally managed to get a booting rom too... took me more than 10 hours :mad:

I used the XIP exctracted with dumprom from ovosleep dump, then I took Trinity AKU3.5.2 as base (and some files from AKU3.3 as I had some problems with the ones in AKU3.5) and started replacing Rom Kitchen SYS and OEM packages one by one with the ones extracted from Hermes WM6 rom, and flashed after every package replacement, this way I could identify all the non device specific stuff (or shared between hermes & trinity).

The process is a pain-in-the-ass(tm), took me almost the whole night, still can't believe myself how mun_rus could create a booting rom that fast, u're really amazing man :eek:

I will not publish the rom (I'm sure mun_rus rom will be far better than mine, mine is real crap), but I am happy to share technical details on the building process if anyone wants to try making a rom himself.

I compared xip section's files and there are only 2 difference in it. It's nk.exe and FLASHDRRV.DLL :)

And as for packages. I replaced all tytn's drivers in rom with trin's and got a bootable and workable rom. But now i used some original drivers from trin's dump.

1) Download Bepe's package tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296861) and hermes WWE rom kitchen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298636). Download xip.bin (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1241844&postcount=97) dumped by ovosleep.

2) Extract the XIP section: "mkdir XIP ; dumprom.exe -5 xip.bin -d XIP" this will create "xip" and "dump" folders, u have to use them in rom kitchen.

3) Take any trinity rom of your choice, and any hermes rom of your choice (try to use latest available versions), extract both OS.nb with NBDump.bat (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298327), convert the dump folder to packages using PKGtool.

4) replicate the same structure as in hermes rom kitchen by bepe, but using your newly created RK packages and the newly dumped XIP section

5) keep it as minimal as possible, forget about bloatware to avoid problems... you'll be able to add more stuff later (camera, messenger, office, etc..)

6) Run BuildOS to create a dump folder out of the package structure you created, then use NBBuild.bat to create OS.nb again, and generate a NBH and flash it; i suggest using HardSPL (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299659), as device won't boot most of the times u flash.

7) When flash fail, do a soft reset and use "task 37 ff" in bootloader to see the kernel messages, this will give u a hint on what is failing and what do u have to replace on the ROM.

8) get some coffee, and repeat all the process again replacing the problematic package or file... until you get it booting.

Hope the process is quite clear.... also mun_rus can give u other hints if he knows a better way... that's only how it worked for me.

I am trying your rom and it is awsome congratulations is well deserved. Sure it has some minor bugs, but that is why it is a beta. I do see one big issue and I hope I am alone in this. I can not make an outgoing call. I can receive calls perfect however when I try to dial a number outside of my contacts and press "talk" nothing happens. I try both the screen and the button and nothing. Am I alone in this?
