After I installed the official HTC rom with GPS support I noticed that I could not take safe any photos anymore taken by the cam to the storage card.
Under The My Documents folder there should be a dir My Pictures. But everything under the My Documents dir is gone.
I deleted the entire My Documents dir through activesync. Take a picture and the dir My Documtens\My Pictures was there again and myu photos are saved again.
I thought the problen was solved untill now. The same thing happend again!!!
Does more people has this problem? I save my photos to the main device now and copy them by hand to the storage card.
I use a MiniSD 2 Gb card.

Did you try to slide the card out and in?
Did you try soft reset?
This always solved my Card Problems.

Hard reset did the trick...
But it is frustrating when you have taken a picture and you can not save it.
That photo is gone.
I will format my miniSD card on fat instead of fat32. Maybe that will help.

There is plenty of memory card recovery software available. Try for example CARDRECOVERY... If you haven't formated your card yet, try it.

What can I do to prevent to happen this again.

I think it is a good idea to copy your data off of your sd card and reformat it when you do a ROM upgrade. Then your device can make all of the directories over agian the way they should be, not the way the other rom set them up. Then just copy your data files back to the card in the correct location.

Can I still do that, or do I have the flash the rom again first?
And should I format the miniSD card in FAT or FAt32?
Many thanx!

Just happened here too .. I switched from DOPOD to LSVW ROM. I didn't delete the directory on the storage card. I made pictures today ... but nothing has been stored anymore on my storage card, not from b4 and not from today.

A work around is nice (but costs a lot of time, especially with a TomTom map of Europe for example), but nicer is to solve the bug .... and it looks now a bug to me in WM5

I had the same problem. Consistently happened on my 2GB Corsair. Switched to a Kingston and it hasn't happened since. Seems to be a quality issue.
