After looking for a method to change the dict for the keyboard input I decided to do it myself, I followed several howto and now I have a complete rom dump of my P3600 and have found which files I need to change to make it spanish. I'm trying to reconstruct your rom (mun_1.25.TE_AKU3.5.2_WWE). I use nbhextract and awaiter to get a imgfs_raw_data.bin (which is 45 481 984 bytes) but when I try to use viewimgfs on it it answer with

Unable to load compression DLL!

I have the cecompr_nt.dll in dir where the viewimgfs.exe is stored, I've even copied it to working dir and to c:\windows. The viewimgfs.exe is working as I use it to dump my own Part02.raw in order to get the localized files.

I answer myself, I was using normal version of ImgFSUtils, I have found Extended version and now everything is working :-D

Well, I have now both my original rom and this rom dumped, they have similar contents but mine has files like pptres.dll.0C0A.mui while this rom has files like pptres.dll.0409.mui. I suppose this has somthing to do with localization of the ROM, and that 0C0A correspond to Spanish while 0409 correspond to WWE.

The files I am supposed to modify in order to get Spanish input are:

autocorrect.txt
dictprob.dat
mssp2_es.lex (mssp2_en.lex in your bios)
statdict.dat
sym.txt

Then I have to modify a key in registry in order to use mssp2_es.lex.
Could I just replace all files in dump directory with my files, even replacing mssp2_en.lex with mssp2_es.lex and forget about the registry key? Anything more I should do before repackaging the ROM?

Sorry if there is any kind of howto that explains all these questions, but I have not found anyone searching through this forum.

mun_rus, thank you for this great ROM, you did a fantastic work!
I tested this ROM all day, and I only have two problems:
First, I installed Cyberon Voice Speed Dialer V1.2 and I tried to trigger it with my BT Hansfree,
but instead of activating the Voice Speed Dialer, it is activating the Dialpad.
I can only activate it from hardware button, or from "programs". I tried reinstalling, but still no go... any idea?
Second, all system volume, is a little bit softer than all other ROMS I have tried. there is a way to increase system volume?
Other than that, this is a very good ROM!

I found the solution for activating Cyberon Voice Speed Dialer from BT hansfree:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway: Change the string value called "BTAGExtModule" from "OEMAGW.dll" to "BTAGExt.dll".

I've read through the forum and find little reference to Trinity and miniSDHC, one person said that he has a Sandisk miniSDHC working in the P3600, I would like to know if this firmware support the miniSDHC standard, and if it would work with a Transcend miniSDHC.

First of all, really sorry for bothering you with the previous questions, I've read a lot in the Wiki and in the forum and I'm almost there. I patched with the official rom in order to update radio, etc. Now I'm supposed to upgrade the OS with mUn's ROM, well in fact I finished building a ROM with spanish input support, although it seems that it can be changed after upgrading, I prefer to get it there after every hard reset.

My question, and I have search through the wiki, through the forum and really, not found a question for the P3600, what happens with the ExtRom? I have content there, it seems that the files are AKU patches and HTC personalization, my P3600 is not locked to any operator, so no GSM settings there. I have read in the wiki that the ExtRom gets applied after hard reset in order to patch/fix, what happens when I put mUn's ROM there that already includes AKU3.5.2 ??? or custom ROM doesn't apply the contents of the ExtROM?? or custom ROM just disable ExtROM completely???

Sorry again if this has been already answered in the forums but I read that if you want to skip the ExtROM patching after hard reset you need to soft reset before it gets applied, is this what I'm supposed to do after applying mUn's ROM???

The HTC reset again but it is another hard reset!!!! So the initial config appears, the second stage again, and then another hard reset.... and so goes forever ....

Luckily I have the full GPS oficial upgrade, I boot to bootloader and downgrade to the offical ROM.

Anything I'm doing wrong??

Solved ... flashed again and now its working, but at the end of the flash process the HTC does not reboot, the first time I switch it on with the power button, thinking that it was really off. This time I reset it instead. I don't know if this have something to do or just was a coincidence.

Now testing the room, it looks really cool and fast.

Dunno if it's only in your ROM (didn't see it in LSVW 1.25.08, but tested that one only a day.)
When I start TomTom after a soft reset everything works fine. No hanging at all if I use an external GPS mouse, but the internal GPS does hang it. After I closed the program I've got everytime 1.2Mb Program memory less left. Maybe caching things? I dunno. What I do know is, that after starting TomTom again (second, third, fourth) my sound has been turned off (haven't had it with any ROM b4). I've got to go to settings (inside TomTom) to activate it, not only once ... cause than doesn't it work either ... but twice. After closing TomTom .... I did not loose more program memory.

I had one other thing: The boot screen (nice HTC logo) hung once. After a reset with the stylus it was booting up again.

For the rest, your build-in program choice is excellent, your ROM is very fast, your design (like keyboard and icons, etc.) is great too.
The best ROM available yet for the Trinity ...

BTW Thanx for solving the WiFi bug, it connects now again instantly and doesn't hang the device after awhile being idle.

Don't ever quit and build us a great WM6 ROM ..... and the bounty is yours!:D

I just had a look at mun_rus ROM. Must say very nice it is too, however Wireless for me is a must and I could not get it working. gl in the future with getting the Wifi fixed

Yes this is the expected behaviour. For some reason beyond my realm of knowledge the Trinity only allows customisation of those 2 (3) buttons. However, a great program to use is AE Button Plus. This program allows any of the buttons on the Trinity to be mapped to a variety of functions and there are four different triggers for each button. ie... Press left once and bring up one app. Press twice to bring another, Press thrice to bring another, and hold to bring a different app or function.

Personally, I use left button on a single tap to change orientation, and hold to close current application (very useful in TomTom, where you normally have to delve into the menu to exit the app cleanly). My right button is set to toggle vibration/silent mode if I hold it. The centre button is set to toggle bluetooth if its held. Anyway, there are many different combinations and this program being freeware (except by donation you get rid of the splash screen when you reboot) is a big bonus.

Regarding the Tomtom sound bug it's already known on the previous ROMs. If you are connected to the 3g/GPRS network end then you lauchn Tomtom, you'll not have sound and you have to activate it twice. :)

I have a weird bug, I just flashed my Trinity with the ROM and it suddenly diesnt open JPG files, which means no backgrounds, no startup screen, very odd.

Going to reflash and see what happens.

And now it wont let me reflash it with any ROM, I've got MUN's on, with the corrupted image problem, but whenever I try to put a new ROM on, it drops into the bootloader and says "Can't connect"

The TE updated WWE edition is the best rom i've tested so far :p
- It took only 2 min to flash my device.
- Have't had a single freeze yet, even in tomtom. :p
- Very fast, and wifi works perfectly now.

Using it with spd shell, and it's the sweetest phone ever :o

This ROM is great- fast and lean with a good appearance, and the WiFi and BT work fine. Even the A2DP works well in stereo mode.

But, is there a problem with the GPS Intermediary Driver (software port); I can't get it to work on either this ROM, or the official HTC ROM. It worked fine on the M700 release ROM (AKU 3.0.0), and was also fine on my previous N560 (AKU 2.3).

Now all GPS apps have to use the hardware GPS port (COM9) and won't even detect the presence of a software port, meaning I can only run 1 GPS app at a time. The gpsid.dll file is present in Windows.

If you are really confused after reading the Wiki and all of the threads that are available on this subject, then I suggest you just load a ROM that is meant for your specific device and call it good. I don't think the people on this forum are interested in reinventing the wheel :) .

I would HIGHLY appreciate it if someone provided a link or the instructions as to how to perform this upgrade/installation of the ROM. Also, is buying a HTC trinity right now a good choice, till now I have just ordered it, and I can cancel it, so if its a bad choice, I can still cancel it. Also, I have read on the trinity's wiki, that there are many problems with it. And it is poor at running CPU intensive applications, and while playing games, using the touchscreen will drop the framerate to a low rate. So, just asking those who already own this pda, is it a good choice, specially now, after such a long time of release?

I have the GPS info option in programs but when I hit"start GPS" it just shows nothing until i hit cols start then it says "$PSRF ...OK then does nothing!

Any help is much appreciated

Hm, make sure you are outside and have clear view of the sky above. For me, TomTom works with both "built-in" and "other." Give it up to 5 minutes, sometimes it can be slow to find satellites.

Also, with this ROM, GPS Info doesn't even start on my Trinity. Frankly, this is not a big deal, since I really don't think GPS Info does anything to improve lock times. Overall, it takes the same time to lock using TomTom, Live Search, or other apps using the GPS function.

When you use the 'Other NMEA Receiver' are you setting the Baud to 56,700, before specifying COM9? That is the hardware setting, and TTN may not work with any other Baud rate specified.

Once you have specified the correct settings in TTN, the GPS screen should show a small revolving icon in the upper right corner. If the settings are wrong, or the GPS isn't active, the icon is static.

With the icon revolving, when you return to the main screen, the 'No GPS Device' message will change to 'No valid GPS Signal' after about 1 minute. This means it is trying to obtain GPS data, which needs a clear sky view for about 5 minutes. If the message stays at 'No GPS Device' then the GPS system isn't initiating.

If all that doesn't work, this looks as if there may be a ROM flash error, and the GPS isn't initiating. You need to try another hard reset, and if that doesn't work, reflash the ROM.

Neil, I just started Live Search on my Trinity, had it center on GPS position, and once it did center (less than a minute, in my office:-), without quitting Live Search, I started TomTom 6.0.3. TomTom locked to position in less than 10 seconds. So, it seems to work for more than one GPS app (program port: 9; hardware port: 9; 57600; set to auto.)

(i was previously using a very old radio rom).

When you use the 'Other NMEA Receiver' are you setting the Baud to 56,700, before specifying COM9? That is the hardware setting, and TTN may not work with any other Baud rate specified.

Once you have specified the correct settings in TTN, the GPS screen should show a small revolving icon in the upper right corner. If the settings are wrong, or the GPS isn't active, the icon is static.

With the icon revolving, when you return to the main screen, the 'No GPS Device' message will change to 'No valid GPS Signal' after about 1 minute. This means it is trying to obtain GPS data, which needs a clear sky view for about 5 minutes. If the message stays at 'No GPS Device' then the GPS system isn't initiating.

If all that doesn't work, this looks as if there may be a ROM flash error, and the GPS isn't initiating. You need to try another hard reset, and if that doesn't work, reflash the ROM.

I keep losing signal and when I soft-reset, it doesn't find the provider. I have to manually select it...

Sorry for beeing so long to test your WONDERFULL french rom. you just ... rock!!!! it's fantastic and so fast.

The little bug i experienced are:
1) smartdialing : as you already know the fix does not work
2) Date on today screen is in english
3) time is in 12H format (ex 9:45 instead of 21:45)
4) phone numbers are strangely shown ex: instead of 0681828384 (french number) it shows (068) 1828384. It may be a simple setting that i don't to to apply.

Sorry if I'm being dense, but I can't see how you could have Navigon and TTN6 open and running at the same time on COM9, which is the hardware port.

I can run any single app on COM9, but trying to open another GPS app at the same time fails as the 1st app locks the port. Subsequent apps try and connect to COM9 but although reporting connected, can't obtain any data. Can you confirm that you have multiple GPS apps open and running, with a valid fix in each?

The default GPSID setting (Program Port) is GPD1 which TTN doesn't support, so it needs to be changed to COM8, which worked in earlier ROM's

Did you tryed to reflash my rom once more. Make hard reset and flash my rom once more. I have no freezes on my device and gps also work great for me.

Neil, I just started Live Search on my Trinity, had it center on GPS position, and once it did center (less than a minute, in my office:-), without quitting Live Search, I started TomTom 6.0.3. TomTom locked to position in less than 10 seconds. So, it seems to work for more than one GPS app (program port: 9; hardware port: 9; 57600; set to auto.)


I can't set mine for PP as COM9- it says the port is already used (by the GPS Hardware)

The WM5 Program Port is the Virtual Port, and on the HTC ROM, and now your ROM, it isn't being recognised by any of my apps- I can only connect to the GPS Hardware port, COM9

But, the 2 other guys have the Program Port working, so it must be a local problem on my M700

Thanks to all the guys for the advice, which proved that it SHOULD work, I did another hard reset and left the Program Port at GPD1;

And whaddya know- multiple GPS apps now work! I'm pointing GPSInfo, CamerAware and TTN at COM9 and they are all working together.

This is a defininite change from earlier ROMS; it seems that GPD1 now intercepts calls to COM9 and supplies the data via the Program Port :)

You need to edit dll with layouts - msim*96.dll (*depends on rom lang. For RUS it's msimru.96.dll)
and after that you should sign your dll with certificate (that certificate should be in rom for your custom layout work)

Yes, but in the best performance mode it uses quite a bit more battery time. It's ok for a short period, but surfing for a few hours will really make a difference in battery life.

I had the same problem (it actually never launched,) but after upgrading to the
1.41.00.11 Radio ROM, it works perfectly. (not sure it really does much to speed up fix, though:-)

2) I installed phonepad, which is a must-have for me, but it only seems to show up in the messaging client and i think also when editing contacts. In other apps/menus, if i select phonepad the default keyboard pops up. Again, someone have a registry edit for this?

when the connection drops, try running the installed again, it should work. do not restart phone, just run installer again once it drops.

I have not done a CID unlock.

The steps im going through are:

1) Connect phone to PC
2) ActiveSync is connected.
3) Open mUn_1.25.TE_AKU3.5.2_FRE folder
4) Click on the application to update Rom
5) Click the "I have done the above" checkbox
6) Lastly the page with the progress bar comes up and the fone wants me to accept the application. I accept. And a few seconds later the screen changes to thr R.G.B screen with USB written in a white square at the bottom of the screen.

The ROM program then says connection failed.

You just have to do this again with the WWE ROM...

Once you are on the SPL screen, if the installation fail before to begin the update, don't touch you device and launch the update again.

So long as you set the GPS settings to: Other NMEA GPS device and to COM9 it should be fine, a cold start the first time can take up to 10 minutes to lock, maybe more, after that it should be ok :)

If your tomtom isnt finding a GPS device you need to configure it, use the settings I told you, NMEA GPS device, COM port 9, and it should be fine, if thats not working, try reinstalling?

Question about the wavedev.dll included in this rom. Is it the 'fix' version that came up on this forum a while back when it was discovered there was a problem with bass? i think the sound i got from the lastest HTC rom where they had fixed it themselves sounded better than it does with this rom.

..and for 1st time fix, make sure you are Outside, with a clear view of the sky.

Satellite signals are very weak, and may not get through house walls, especially if there is metalwork in them. 1st fix can still take up to 10mins even with clear sky, as there is a lot of initialmdata to aquire.

GPSInfo is just a 'demo' program to allow you to see if the GPS hardware is working. If the 'text scrolling' stops, it suggests you have run out of availale signals, so once again you need to move to a better signal area. When you have enough data, the 2nd tab (geographic screen) will have solid, rather than outline bars for signal strength

Because there are two CAB in this forum:
- POST #480: your CAB "mUn VideoCallPics.cab" size: 108KB (without the call video history)
- POST #492 and the CAB of a junior member (abumoosa) of this forum "VideoCallPics.cab" size: 265KB (with the call history video but with one bug with the Edge icon: U instead of E).

Actualy, I prefere use your cab (108KB) even if it's without video call history.

So, can you release a mUn cab with the video call history?

When you put in new email settings you can't soft reset with the pointer right away because your changes will be lost. Try soft resetting by holding down the power button for 3 seconds, this saves your changes.

Firstly thanks to mUn and all his hard work. So much better then the orange rom I do have a few questions though.

When I click on the green telephone answer button it goes to the dial pad, with the orange rom I used to press the down key and it would open my speed dials. This no longer works for me.

Smartdial does not work either. I have tried to install your fixes but it makes no difference. I don’t see the video button either.

Does video call work as I am having problems with that as well

Are these known bugs or am I missing something?

These issues r very minor to me everything else works perfect. even got the phone pad working which was worth the change in rom alone.

If anyone can answer my questions I would be very grateful.

One last question slighty off topic. Sprite backup does it backup all your settings, so if I had all my applications installed on the SD card, hard reset it then restored from sprite backup will the applications all work ok?

After updating to this rom, which is amazing and awesome, MUCH better than what I previously had, and huge thanx from my side, but I noticed a problem, the start menu button on ma p3600 doesnt work any more, it was only after I upgraded to this, this problem appeared.

I run tengo on this the wwe version of this rom. No problem. Have you registered and put it as default in the tengo settings?

I have the same problems with SIP in the TE ( latest version). eiter Tengo nor Resco keyboars works. the default keyboard still there even if you choose another input method.
Where can we edit the registry or change the keybord default dll ?

Hi. I test all my roms on my device.
As for jeaodek you are right, it's another kind of JAva machine. I included it coz i think it's better that Intent. So have a look. I installed operamini directly from mini (jeodek automaticly caught a link for download a midlet).opera.com. And it works pretty well (on full screen with hardkey support) :)!

As for yuotube you should use another way for watching it from ppc.

Hi Mun... I use iPAQ rw6828 and interested on the Esmertec Jeodek (Java) on your ROM... My device currently use Jeodek build 20060731 and would like to upgrade it. I am sure you have a newer build.

I have tried to extract the NB file using imgfs_tools (prepare & view) but found an error "Unknown header type, FS_Data_Table???" when I executed viewimgfs. Anybody can advise to solve this problem?

Could you please send me the Jeodek files on your WWE ROM (ie. Jeodek.exe, Impie.dll, etc.). I tried to extract these file from your ROM but not succesful (my experience/knowledge still not there yet.. :))

Hi, I'm new here and would like to know how to install this rom. If I use the ROMUpdateUtility.exe it boots to bootloader, but then gives me an error because it loses usb connectivity. Am I supposed to use the bootloader to flash the rom? If so how do I do this and why is the ROMUpdateUtility.exe included?
