Need Latest rom and unlock

Hiya
Got my Athena 3 weeks now and it gives 2 problems only (for now)
1/. It is locked to Tmobile but worse--I dont have a tmobile contract, and want to avoid getting one.
2/. The ROM version loaded on it is an old one (see below).

Net result---cant use with my orange or O2 sims and missing some good stuff not in the older rom. Do we need a super Cid for Athena to unlock it?
I think whoever brings the unlock and new rom to us will be knighted!!
Arise Sir Athena. Bring the rom and unlock to us.

The Dopod WWE rom is available in some places already :) I think what is left is the cid unlock. WRT SIM unlock, if you paid full price for the device, Teja has already shown the way. Search this Athena section, and not difficult to find.

What is the different between CID lock and SIM lock ?..

Thanks Victoradjei for unlocking a mystery! Us mortals did'nt realise the difference re sim unlock and rom cid unlock. Wisdom comes when you least expect it. Unfortunately I am not eligible for the free tmobile unlocking, just have to wait

if i remember, that is the upgrade utility for the magician....but i am no developer. if it is, then no. do not use it, it will likely kill your device.
