Bluetooth 2.1 [Archive] - xda-developers

hi chaps,

just been reading http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/03/30/bluetooth_2dot1_unveiled/
and i just wondered if anyone knows if there is a possability of the new bluetooth 2.1 on existing handsets as an upgrade, maybe intergrated with a new radio upgrade.

and if not, will it be easy enough for boffins here to extract it and make it work for us.:D

No, it's not possible as all BT revisions are different in hardware, too and thus can't be made compatible with the new standards. You'd have to buy a new 2.1 enabled handset to get that functionality.

ah yeah, didnt think about that, i just thought it was software.
