I'm currently the owner of the MDA Pro and my contract is due for renewal, and as it's that wonderful time of the year I shall be happily looking to upgrade to the Ameo if it's truly worth it.
1) the MDA Pro is slow, running the same software on it that I have on the Vario (1) the Vario seems to beat it performance wise - perhaps the VGA screen takes it's toll, but compared to the 240mhz the 520mhz of the Pro should beat it hands down - it doesn't! Is the Ameo a speedy device, does it have a beater processor (XScale or similar would be nice).
2) I'm not so bothered about size more the stability of the design, as I said above I've had three MDA Pro's and each one has broken in exactly the same place - the screen. The flimsy plastic backing of the screen doesn't take to impact all too well and I've had to have it replaced twice because the screen cracked. A bug bearance of the MDA Pro, yet the MDA II; III and the Vario have all been fine.
3) Memory - for some reason my Pro doesn't handle memory too well, programmes that I've closed reside in the memory and it's not long that I get the 'not enough memory' error.
4) Backwards compatibility - I was pee'd when I got my Pro and Strange Adventures in an Infinite Space didn't work, that and a few other programmes. I have some guitar software that refuses to run at all yet works perfectly on the Vario. Ideally I could replace the Vario and the Pro in one go.
If anyone can help me on these points that would be fantastic.
Cheers
