WM6 ROM bugs complaint HERE! discuss 2gather

hi...i create this thread for everybody who had problems or bugs with the WM6 ROM either PDAMobiz or Smart1 ROM...
coz i find it difficult to search all of threads here...

If this thread doesnt get deleted here's my two cents: smart1 v2 ROM (G4 Prophet):
1. no java
2. Infrared doesnt work properly
3. phone freezes quite often
4. Charging issues: sometimes decides not to charge either on wall charger or PC USB cable...no set pattern there

1: Button 1 & 2 are not customizable ( to me , this is very very very very very very important, I change back to WM5 because of this)
2: when WIFI is ON and connected to a network, click the connection icon on the top of the screen, it will have a link for you to " TURN ON WIFI", shouldnt it be " TURN OFF WIFI" ?
3: cannot connect to internet once a while via WIFI, USB (activesync) , or GPRS , need soft reset to fix it. This issue sometimes happen to me on WM5 too, but seems more often on WM6.
4: I hard reset a few times to test different setting/ software etc, but 1 time, the WINDOWS live doesnt let me sign in at all, I have internet working (can get on google etc). But Windows live just keep telling me to check internet connection. -> hard reset.


For mndgz comment 2. Infrared doesnt work properly <<< I thought the Regedit, seems working for me. Maybe you just need another hardreset.

dmc3 is right, the pdamobiz WM6 post becomes too big... very hard to find answer....

but i think that v2 had fixed most of bugs in v1 that i'm using right now?
i haven't flash it to v2 but i think that mine is fine already.
only some bugs such as corrupted device lock,and contacts disappeared,and this ROM easily dead..
i'm looking forward on V3 ROM.hope that they've fixed all of bugs that now users have been complaining...
well..sometimes i think that maybe smart1 would creat new Open Source ROM just like Linux or else but compatible to WM applications

i have a strange error with the pdamobiz rom, i can't unlock my phone after a couple off soft resets it says i have wrong unlock code so i had to hard reset (had to hard reset 2times because off that, and i'm reinstalling phone now for 3th time but i'm not gonna choose a lock code).

it happens after i have installed almost all my software so that can also be the problem.

whan i go to lock in the settings menu, then i have to give in my code and that works but it doesn't work if i soft reset device

maybe the problem is my code itself and i choose 7519 ass code

Well.u must be using the same as mine,v1.
v2 doesn't have this problem(so far that i search all posts)
that's the bug..don't put any password until u've flash it to upcoming WM6 v3 ROM..maybe they've fixed this bug

...try this ...intead of softreset shut down the prophet and than turn it on again.....seem that wm6 not save all data .....for me this system works

strange,even Microsoft already said that starting from WM5.ROM will be used to save data..so,it must be NON-VOLATILE...
really,i'm surprised that WM6 ROM is back to "StoneAge" if it is about saving data...
Smart1 should fixed this problem on v3

I created some subfolders in my pushmail account (Mail2Web.com) in the Messaging tool, like "PPC Things" or "Private" but when I softreset my device (XDA Neo, G4) the mails in this subfolders where be deleted!!!
But when I look into my mail account via Firefox at PC I see them all in the right subfolders! :-?



Is it a bug or feature? :D
How to resolve this issue?

timezone is not a big problem.right now,if smart1 doesn't fix this "Volatile"-problem,this ROM is just a waste...

Did this issue of button mapping ever get fixed in Smart v2? I don't believe this was ever corrected in ANY of the aku 3 WM5 ROMS either.

Well, let me explain. This is the single biggest issue I have with all the WM5 aku 3 and WM6 ROMs so far, and I doubt it will ever get fixed for any new ROMs. This is also what keeps from updating my prophet to anything higher than aku 2.2.

Buttons 1 and 2 correspond to the lower left Windows key and the OK key on the lower right. When you go into the control panel, you see 'buttons'. Here, you can assign a different function to these 2 buttons in addition to buttons 3 and 4 (camera and conn manager by default). In all these latest ROMs, you can ONLY change buttons 3 and 4. Changing the function of buttons 1 and 2 will not work for some reason.

Using Wisbar Advance 2, I use buttons 1 and 2 for the Cascading Start Menu and Close, respectively. However, this won't work for aku 3 ROMs and WM6 ROMs......at least not yet! aaarrrrggghhhh!

Huh? What do you mean you use both of them?

Of course you can use them, but for no other purpose than the default start menu and the minimize functions.

If you're saying they CAN be changed, try changing one to the calculator and see if it works....

I recently installed the Smart1's WM6 ROM v2 - overall very nice, much faster than my original WM5 ROM.

Few problems:-

1) Password - Seems to forget password, constantly says incorrect password entered. Only solution - hard reset.

2) MMS - Can send but not receive - sometimes cannot send either. Keypad lights up as if it is going to receive but no notification appears.

3) WiFi - Sometimes forgets WPA-PSK and actual network for that matter.

4) Sometimes when shutting down, the screen gets corrupted.

Also had a lot ofproblems getting it to work in the first place. I do understand that it isn't an official ROM, just thought it fair to make a point of this, hopefully complete noobs will avoid it as I suspect many will end up with nice rounded black bricks :)

I thought we were going to have HTML Emails in WM6? MS Demo shows it - doesnt seem to work for my Push emails?

Also my Radio version is 2.20.21, should i update this to teh 2.6 something or if it works dont mess with it?

Hello,
I'm using the pdamobiz wm6 1.0 rom.
Did anyone found a way to low the sound volume while doing a call?

Actually the sounds lows a bit but not that much, and even in the lowest is way too loud, it's blowing my ears off, i have to use a bluetooth head set for all my call for now!

if anyone knows a reg hack or something to solve this the rom will be perfect for me!!

my mmc 2gb i have does not work with phamobiz edition... everything else is perfect but that!!! is there any solution?

I don't realy get the idea of this thread.

My experience with Smart1 V2 ROM is the disappearing SMS after a soft reset (using stylus).

Now I don't see any solution in this thread, all I see here is all problems gathered here in one thread.

You better should create a WiKi page with a problem/solution page!

Try: XDADev_Batfix.cab

For the SMS disappearing problem:

Use pBar or any other program to soft reset your device.

This should be more helpfull than gathering problems partly solved in other topics ;)
