So, I have been having problems with my PDA lately. It refused to turn on randomly. With other ROMs, it randomly crashed, or rebooted, or I just had blank white or blue screens. Different problems with different ROMs -- but all random. Lately its so bad, it rendered my PDA useless -- now sometimes it doesn't even boot, the blue imate bootscreen gets corrupted...
What's wrong? I'm suspecting RAM problems, which ain't good :(

Hi KTamas!
Try putting it into bootloader mode and from there, do a complete OS+radio ROM upgrade.
Use the latest 1.15 radio along with the latest official ROM. I would prefer the official O2 ROM. Go to the below link to download the latest O2 rom. For phone number, it will take any number

Best of luck! :)

Been there, done that. A dozen times. Tried serveral AKU2, AKU3, Crossbow ROMs. Different behaviors on different OSes, but all unstable one way or another (well, one time, one AKU2 was mostly stable... well, mostly... but when I went to crossbow, then back to AKU2, it got worse).

hmm..indeed a problem unheard of.
Have you tried flashing it with AKU1.x rom? They are, i guess, avaliable on imate's FTP

Use the latest 1.15 radio
What advantages does 1.15.00 have over 1.14.10? I'm right on the border of a 3g cell and OCCASIONALLY get a 0 bar 3g signal, so am just after the best radio rom to get a strong clear signal.
Thanks!

Elsewhere on the forum, there is a post which say that the difference between 1.14.1 and 1.15 was minimal and that there should in fact be no differences between the way they operate.
However, that was in the midst of a number of posts which all said how much more reliable 1.15 and that the Uni felt faster with it.

Remember, no ROM is entirely stable but you do sound like you have a hardware fault.

Have you tried a new battery? I was having similar problems and took it to the service centre and they confirmed it was the battery (mine was about 14 months old). All working fine now with a new battery!

My battery is around 9 months old. Anyways, I took my Uni to a private repair center... I hope they'll be able to fix it.

Please let us know what the problem is but I think its a voltage control unit of the mainboard.

i had some issues a couple of months ago.. tried all the roms, drove me mad... turned out to be due to some corrupt sectors on my sd card.. bought a new one and my Uni was rocksteady (well kinda) as ever =]
good luck
