As nobody has posted this information here before: there're some news in the Prophet upgrading scene :)

IPL/SPL 3.08 update is out (adapted from the official t-mobile Germany AKU3.3 for HTC Charmer, thanks to our friends from 4pda.ru).

Be attended that for the moment there're no downgrading experiences to the AKU2.2!
[edit 1] Some users reported that it definetly works for G3 devices.

So if you upgrade your device to IPL/SPL 3.08 you will possibly not be able to go back to your original IPL/SPL (warranty!). Test it on your own risk!

Since there're different upgrade IPL/SPL ROM's available you've exactly to know which device you're owned (G3 or G4).
The new radio rom is for both, G3 and G4.

Also a new radio ROM 2.69.21 is available (don't wonder about italian Wizard's update utility). All user experiences are welcome :)

There's no question about possibility to downgrade ipl/spl, there's a question about possibility to install an earlier AKU on such upgraded device, for example 220734_NoVID (AKU2.2).

IPL/SPL Update hung at 2% and Radio Update too ... after them i must reburn the 02.61.21 Radio Rom o_O

Note to every body ... dont use this upgrades!

[edit 4] ... redandr ... you use the wrong firmware writer! extract with winrar the Prophet_G3_G4_RadioRom_v2.61.21.exe in a directory. then i extract the nk.nbf file from your rom version ... then i put them over the v2.61.21 version and flash again ... then it works ... now i recompile the update and test ipl/spl update. if i am finish i upload a working version!!!

Then it works ... tested on two German S200 G4

For me Wizard's update utility worked without problems (for radio rom upgrade), didn't try to change ipl/spl (not necessary for me).

Radio Rom 2.69.21 works fine for me on my Qtek S200 G3... I used the upgrade from the first post... did not try the ipl/spl yet because I am not sure if need it...

so far, radio rom 2.69.21 is very good... I had some problem with 2.47 and 2.61 (phone not ready...)... but with this one, it seems to be ok...

i extracted the nbf file and it was a spl and ipl file but the spl and ipl file was the exact same file, i even opened it with a hex editor and at least the beginning matched perfectly, also the ipl is not 768 kb.

I repacked it, so only the spl is included. There was no ipl included in the first place...

Does the updater work for g3 ? the one of the threadstarter? otherwise i'll create a repack there too by tonight.

i tried to update the radio rom of my g4 prophet via vista x64 and the update-utility sets the prophet into the bootloader and then crashes. when i try it again the flash-utility still crashes before flashing.

is updating the radio-rom with windows vista not possible?

I have not tried to downgrade..

Did notice that the screen with the SPL info etc. takes a little longer to disappear than before. Further more I must say I havn't found any changes ;)

ok here in german what the problem is with the first uploader:

wenn man das nk.nbf file entpackt kommen zwei dateien raus. Eine Ipl und eine SPL. Normalerweise ist die spl datei 768 kb und die ipl ca 20 kb oder sowas auf jeden fall sehr klein. Die Ipl und die Spl in dem nk.nbf file vom ersten uploader sind allerdings die gleiche datei, heißt sie sind beide 768 kb groß und wenn man sie mit einem hex editor öffnet ist zumindest der anfang das gleiche. Ich hab also einfach ein neues nk.nbf file erstellt indas ich nur die spl datei reingepackt habe. Ipl scheint einfach nicht vorhanden zu sein.
Ach wenn du hilfe brauchst mit texten übersetzen für ne deutsche version von wm6 dann kann ich dir gerne helfen aber auch andere sachen ich hab allerdings keine vorstellung davon wie das anders gehen soll, außer einfach alle wörter übersetzen da du ja nicht einfach files von anderen deutschen wm6 roms für andere handys reinkopieren kannst...

Aber sie sind ab 785.408Bytes verschieden....

90000000-IPL.nb & 90000000-SPL.nb are not the same, they have different content starting at 785.408 bytes...

hm ok i guess i didn't check accurate enough then (because they are different from 785.042 (or something)) but the ipl is usually only 20 kb or so I don't know were the bootloader gets flashed but I assume that the prophet doesn't have enough memory for an 768 kb ipl

Hello,

I upgraded the SPL and the Radio ROM successfully on my S200 G4.
I am running Aserg .13 by the way.
Everything is fine but I noticed that my CPU is always around the 15% instead of 2~3% when idle. And I suppose this is connected to the CPU problem, my battery is running out faster, I'd say twice as fast as before.
And one more thing, I might sound stupid, but I don't even know why i upgraded. I don't feel any improvement whatsoever.

Anybody feeling the same way?

Have you read the Wiki entry about S200 Version G3 or G4?

IPL 2.09 tells us, you use a S200 with G3 Mainboard. You are the next person they have kill his Prophet Phone. No way to fix it!!! You have kill your bootloader ... this update change the bootloader!!!!!!!

The ppls doesnt read any thing ... every two weeks i found a new Thread with a user and his bricked S200!!!

Ok but ... you have a new Paperwight ... that can light!

The Only way is to replace the DoC - Smart1 foudn someone that did it for him for 70$ (maybe it was the official service or something like that) so it's still cheaper then buying a new device...
But hey... i think next time you will think a little more before doing stupid things that brick your device (and it IS bricked now).

3.08 are IPL/SPL Based on Charmer and Badly modded!

If you Flash this Version, your Device think its a Charmer. CID Unlock via IMEI-Check.co.uk and the normal Prophet unlock doesnt work. They can give you a special Version, they downgrade your SPL to 2.13.0001 and CID unlock your Device.

If you want CID unlock and your SPL is 3.08 ... they can bring it back :-> ... very nice service from them and the costs are not realy high.

I was running Aserg .13 with SPL 3.08 and RadioROM 2.69.21.
Everything was fine for 2 months or so until yesterday.
I had a problem and thought I might reflash it.
Of course I had to downgrade to a lower ROM but I forgot about the SPL version.
I don't know how I did it but now I am stuck in the bootloader phase and nothing works.
Is there any solution at all?

I am not sure ... IPL is like the BIOS ... SPL is the Bootloader.

If you change them ... possible your OS starts faster ... possible CPU Microcode Update ... what ever?!?! But the 3.08 are modded from simulare Devices.

I just paid 20 quid to have my phone downgraded from 3.08 to 2.13. Worth every penny.

Not that anything went wrong, but you can no longer re-apply official ROM's etc.

Guys, it's just not worth it.

Since the reversion to original IPL/SPL, my battery life has gone from 2 days to 3 days.

I cannot definitively state that this is because of the IPL/SPL, but nonetheless I can only think that it's best not to screw with these things.

I updated my phone to ipl: 2.25 spl 3.08 mda 8125 using the rom that worked it goes to the red green blue screen i can still connect it to usb but i cannot flash any windows mobile roms what should i do?

i'm guessing the solution to the problem created by this patch would be to create an ipl spl update with a greater version id that is actually ment for prophet (maybe a older version but with id hex changed ?!). anybody has a clue about this ?
