IMPORTANT NOTE: "IP Phone" button doesn't runs well but we can show the button while waiting for a FIX. The rest of the buttons works like a charm.

The file "CommManagerRes_dll.CAB" is the CAB file used in the Trinity to change the backdrop of the Comm Manager to the HTC Green one. It re-sort some buttons too. It will be installed after the installation of the "XDA CommManager 1.3.6.0.cab" file.

4/ BLUETOOTH EXPLORER 1.1.26907.1
Bluetooth Explorer lets you exchange files using Bluetooth with other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

http://rt002nf0.eresmas.net/XDA/bexplore.jpg

This is the help about this new tool:

Overview of Bluetooth Explorer
Bluetooth Explorer lets you exchange files using Bluetooth with other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

Note: Bluetooth Explorer works the same way as File Explorer.

To enable Bluetooth Explorer

1. Tap Start > Settings > Connections tab > Bluetooth > FTP tab > Enable Bluetooth Explorer.
2. Tap OK.

To set the Bluetooth shared folder

The Bluetooth shared folder is the folder that other devices will see when they connect to your device using Bluetooth Explorer. Your device must have Bluetooth turned on and set to Visible mode for other devices to see the Bluetooth shared folder.

1. Tap Start > Settings > Connections tab > Bluetooth > FTP tab > Enable File Sharing.
2. Tap Browse to set a folder to share.
3. In Add/Delete Folders, select a folder to share then tap OK. Tap New to create a new folder to share.
4. Tap OK.

Note: \My Documents\Bluetooth Share is the default Bluetooth Explorer shared folder.

Use of Bluetooth Explorer

To launch Bluetooth Explorer

Tap Start > Programs > Bluetooth Explorer. Bluetooth Explorer then scans for visible Bluetooth devices you can connect to. From the list, select the Bluetooth device you want to connect to.

Note: You may need to enter a Passcode in order for you to connect to the device.

To use Bluetooth Explorer

If there are shared files in the Bluetooth shared folder on the other device, you will be able to see those files on the Bluetooth Explorer screen. You can then do the following:

- Copy or delete files.
- Create a new folder.
- Paste a file into the folder.

Comment from chenga:
Tested Bluetooth Explorer. Works with Rom 2.11 (WM5 AKU 3.3.1) and my Apple MacBook Pro. I was able to browse the shared directories, send a file, and receive a file.

Note that enabling file sharing automatically makes your device "discoverable" (visible to others). So if you don't want to be discoverable all the time, be sure to uncheck the correct box in the "mode" tab of the bluetooth settings.

You can put anything you want in the HTC pluging using a Registry Editor and looking to the key "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCHomeplug]" but you need to know:
- The executable file for the new function.
- The resource file from where take the icon to show (if there is not icon, the redirection runs but you can't see any image in the plugin).

I've only extracted the files from Trinity (and fixed a little problem with the Power executable name). The rest is up to you and chefs.

Nice to have it in a cab so I don't have to keep hacking the registery myself :D Question - when I added IP Pone to mine, the button itself actually doesn't seem to work. It also adds a setting for IP phone under the settings listing which doesn't seem to do anything either. Does you cab effect fix either of these or am I missing files/reg entries?

The CAB is only the Trinity Comm Manager and the registry keys that are associated to it. Maybe, "IP Phone" doesn't run and that's the reason that it's deactivated by default. But, we can show the button while wait for a FIX... :D

Hello Dutty,

I'm glad to see that you've included it in your ROM. Only two things:

- I've included a IP Phone (VoIP) Button to the Comm Manager (it doesn't runs very well but we can show it until a FIX appears).
http://rt002nf0.eresmas.net/XDA/Comm.jpg

- Have you fixed the click & events sounds? Look here:

well forget about koch v1, koch v2 is a total rewrite :)

VOIP is enabled by default in this build (today plugin is present and settings in phone)
click sounds are present by default in this build ( i assume you mean the button clicks and touchscreen clicks)

as i said earlier, this *is* premium. most other roms share the same base, this one is different.. everything is in from the ground up..

Yeah - I was just hoping I was missing something :D I think there are a couple buttons missing. Clearly when you click the settings -> IP Phone, it is trying to load a Settings Control Panel which seems to be missing (Maybe take you to the IP Phone setting in the Phone Control Panel?)

Hopefully one of those smart Chef's are using IP Phone and can figure out how to get it to work :D

There's a bunch of them you can use for free :D I'm using Poivy right now :) The only annoying thing is you have to download their Windows XP/Vista client and install it to setup an account. After that's done, do what I do and uninstall the software :)

Free to setup an account and use them (and if you used anything that cost money (calling Cellphones or countries that arent free), they seem to have about the best rates - damned I sound like an advertisement).

If you need help setting up the setup cab I'd be happy to help (though I think you'll get it no problem) :)

I've tried it on Black and had the same problem. I think if you install the WM6Voip files onto any of the non-voip-enabled WM6 roms for Hermes you get about the same functionality. My thought was that needed files or Reg entries were removed from original (vanilla) roms and never put back but now with all these new releases popping up with new builds since we've figured out the VOIP thing and it's still not working, I'm thinking MS left something out intentionally.

I don't understand... The reg keys are inside the CAB files so them can be extracted from them. And there are some files etracted from Trinity so the Registry keys alone can't do anything on Hermes...

This is true and even if I can never turn it on and off from there (which I bet within a week (hour :)?) or two I will be able to!) - there are still other places to easily shut it off so no biggy. Now if only I could get all the bugs out of my ipdialplan.xml - I have it working for 85% of my phone numbers but there are still a few things buggin me. :)

Hi,
I have tried to install the CommManager cab and it gives me the following error (on either storage card or memory) : Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions.
I'm using LVSW's ROM (2007-03-26) and it's the first time I'm getting this message while trying to install something.
Any idea ?

Yes, make sure you've gone into the settings -> Memory -> running programs and ensure CommManager is not running (if it is - kill it). Then it should install.

Sorry - I know that might be redundant but if he doesn't know how to ensure it's been closed completely - I can see this going on and on! :)

Oh well - hoped to hear otherwise but it was as I suspected. Good to hear you've signed up with Voipbusters - they're actually the same company as poivy (they run like 10 services online with slightly varrying plans). Hopefully you'll find something I missed (you most likely find hundreds of things I missed :D ) while digging about :)

4/ BLUETOOTH EXPLORER 1.1.26907.1
Bluetooth Explorer lets you exchange files using Bluetooth with other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS SOFTWARE IS UNTESTED CAUSE I DON'T GOT ANOTHER BLUETOOTH DEVICE.

The CAB file is in the first post!

Thanks for your work on extracting these programs!

I can't install SIM Manager 5.30.

Any idea, how to install it?

Thanks!

If the cab file does not work try this .exe file.

Unzip the .exe file, you need to connect to activesync, then click on explore, but set the folder view to show hidden files (Windows could be hidden). Then go to Windows and drop the .exe in there. It will ask if you want to replace the existing file, just say yes, you will then have the new version. Make a copy of the old one first though in case something goes wrong! :)

hmm srry but i downloaded the cab file on the first page, installed it and reset, and when I go to comm manager, I see all the buttons (thats great;)) but..I cant see the names off (in the left corner) "flight mode" Beam" (IR) and "IP Phone..

can I fix this in reg?

btw..:p did you checked what I said about the bluetooth program? you can even explore in normal gsm when you connect your ppc with an gsm(if it has bluetooth);) really cool..

It's strange, it doesn't depend of the REG, it's stored in the MUI file. I got two possible causes:
- Is your ROM in English? Because the CommManager I posted is for English ROMS only... You may rename the MUI file changing 0409 to the value of the language of your ROM.
- Maybe, some DLL was in use during the upgrade (even the MUI file). Please, reinstall the CAB after a Soft Reset (and don't open the CommManager before the installation).

About th Bluetooth Explorer, the problem is that my only device with Bluetooth is the hermes so...

I had the very same problem as you. In case you haven't remedied the issue yet, a quick search through the forums yielded this fix:
The comm manager though requires a registry tweak. According to Zoki (and what myself and others have done):

"Remove the entire key KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN"

One you do that, then soft reset and you will be good to go with this comm manager and wifi will work.

wifi works like a charm for me now :D

I running WM6 Black 2.0 with the new comm manager . I expected the IPphone button to toggle my voip off/on or take me to the phone selection screen. Presently, when I tap the button it does not do anything but go away and think. Is this expected behavior? I searched the thread but did not seen any reference.

For those who asks for an HTC-Green Comm-Manager, there is a CAB in the Trinity to do it (attached to this post).

Some buttons are resorted, but it can be easily changed editing the registry.

Hello to all!
I've installed commanager successfully and works fine, but the settings menu (down) don't send me to the correct link.
If I click on bluetooth settings It swows me the phone settings (ring name, etc), and when I click on wlan settings it shows me the bluetooth settings.
It can be fixed?
I've a htc tytn with original spanish rom (Hermes 200)
can be the spanish languange of the rom the guilty of my problem?

- Is your ROM in English? Because the CommManager I posted is for English ROMS only... You may rename the MUI file changing 0409 to the value of the language of your ROM.

If the answer is yes what's the code for spain?

Yes. It may be caused due to ROM language because these files are extracted from the Trinity english ROM.

This is the MUI file for the spanish ROM: unzip, install it in Windows directory (overwriting the existant one), then Soft Reset and it may run correctly.

If it doesn't work I can give you the complete spanish packgage (but I think that it will run :) ).

Don't worry about it: Dutty's ROM is the first ROM that integrates this programs and the next LVSW will integrate them too. Maybe Black, DES and WMXL should incorporate them in future versions.... So, this thread will be almost useless in a short space of time :p

AWESOME!! thanks i'm loving it!

A little issue, don't know if this has to do with all the other posts about the disconnect button in the bubble but i just noticed this little thing.

I can turn the wi-fi on and off through the comm manager without a problem, But if i turn the wifi on (either through comm manager or through the "turn on wi-fi" link in the bubble) I can't turn it off through the bubble, it just says "turn on wi-fi" even if wifi is on. I click it and nothing happens...

Don't worry this doesn't bother me at all since i have 3g and an unlimitted data plan i never use wifi but just though you guys would like to know.

thanks again!

It's the same. When I start to investigate the Trinity ROM I found only (apart from the published things) a newer Sim-Lock application... but it seems to do nothing when you run it...

This is the MASD list from the Trinity:

Er, I don't understand the way you're trying to use the Bluetooth Explorer application. This application is intended to be used to share files between two bluetooth devices like two phones, or a phone and a computer, etc, and it's a kind of File Explorer.... It has nothing to do with the Internet Explorer and it can't be used to surf the web.

Welcome to the forum and please, deactivate CAPS-LOCK while typing cause it's not good considered in forums.

FROM THE TRINITY TO YOUR HERMES

A collection of extracted files from the latest Trinity ROM that can be used in your Hermes. Compatible with WM5 & WM6.

The CAB Files are at the end of this post.
Install the CABs always to the Device (not Storage Card) and perform a Soft Reset after each installation.

1/ COMM MANAGER 1.3.6.0
With "Flight Mode", "Beam" (IR) and "IP Phone" (VoIP) buttons enabled!!!
