A couple of Questions after WM6 Upgrade

first of all I'm in Australia and conected to the 3 network, I've upgraded to the Black 2.0 rom and Radio 1.38.00.10 all is working well.

I have a Dopod 838 Pro

Question 1. instead of the U when I'm connected to 3 I'm getting a H is this normal, I get the normal 3g when not recieving Data.

Question 2. When I use to get an Text or Email I would get a Voice promt,

You have Mail or You have Message, I can no longer find them in the notification settings.

and before anyone says anything I Searched and Searched.

There are better people than me to answer question 1, but question 2 - the sounds would have been part of your original ROM, and aren't included in the one you have now. The files you're missing are just sound files that would be in the windows directory, so if you can find the files, just copy them there and they'll appear in the notification options dialog box.

If you post you ROM here, someone with that ROM may come along and help you out, otherwise you could try googling for something similar, or you could even record your own with your device!

Question1: Basically H is short for HSDPA which is 3.5g network. Much faster and better. When not connected to the web, it would just chew up battery (I'm guessing) so well done your phone is now compatiable with the faster network.

Question2: As Paurockliffe said. Those were sounds files part of the old rom. I just upgraded as well, and the misses loved those sound files. I wish I could get my hands back on them for her, but i'm not in the mood to flash again and strip the sounds... Maybe might give aussie3g.com a whirl.. someone on their forums is bound not to have upgraded the dopod yet...

1) Your problem seems to be just wrong icons - this has been reported heavily for WM6 ROMs, there might be some fixes around.
2) As said above these sounds were part of your original ROM. Sounds are stored in Windows folder by default so you are free to dowload/use whatever sounds you like. You can assign sounds and notifications for many actions using Settings >> Sounds and notifications option. You can even record and use your own notifications.

Your icons are fine! As previously said, when your device sends and receives packets of data on a 3g cell that is upgraded with HSDPA, your icon changes to an H to show you are getting the faster data service.
