View Full Version : Why did this happen?

Using my Cingular 8525, was using Black 2.0 with no problems, but wanted to try LVSW's newest ROM, so I flashed to that. It ran good, but battery life was horrible, so I wanted to go back to Black 2.0, so I flashed to it. Re-installed everything, but my camera didn't work, if I pressed the button nothing happened. I did a hard reset, no luck, I reflashed Black 2.0, still wouldn't work.
My solution was to flash to an older LVSW ROM, and that worked, my camera was back. So, I flashed again to Black 2.0, and everything is fine.
What happened to my camera?

I was about to flash back to Cingular ROM and do a warranty exchange!

I'm running Black 2.0 on 8525 w/o camera issue.
You may want to remap the buttons, that's all I can think of.

No, it wasn't a button issue. If I went to start/programs and chose camera, nothing happened.
But, like I said, it's all working fine now after 4 million re-flashes.

pervert, quit flashing just for your camera.. i mean phone.. um :D
sounds like a weird issue though, but like they said before.. sometimes things happen.. the unexplainable mystery's of your phone...

it could be that your physical camera might have intermittent issues

I actually have the same issue. I have been running Black 2.0 now for a couple weeks or better (awesome build JJ) with no issues whatsoever, until about 3 or 4 days ago the camera stopped. Same issue as posted, button doesn't work, I tried going to the exe file, nothing. I tried loading a 3rd party program that is supposed to be better then the OEM Cingy camera program, it would flash up for a second and then disappear.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that JJ is going to come out with 2.5 and I will reflash my ROM and see if it comes back.
Funny, I have used the camera like 3 or 4 times since I got it...wouldn't have missed it but came across a pretty cool photo contacts/dialer program that I want to start using....went to use the camera for my first contact....and nothing.
JJ if your readin...please let me know if you release a Black 2.5, I would be all over it bud.
Cheers

Whats the Photodialer program called ? I was dissapointed in the 8125 and 8525s built in picture contacts, I mean if this sucker can do video calls why wouldn't they let me atleast have a pic of who I wanna call lol. Sometimes I think they treat this too much as a phone first and PDA second.

I believe it is called V2R PhotodialerPPC. Pretty cool compared to a few others I have tried. It is a today plugin, actually similar to the "Five" where you can rotate through the images with your 5-way. When you select a contact it makes that one active and then allows you to switch through that contact's different numbers rather then most others where you can only select one number from that contact.
Now if I can just get my camera working again on my 8525...
Cheers
