I'm sure one of you have seen this message before. I'm not sure why I'm getting it, but I have a good idea to guess why. I installed Black 2.0 over cingular's old rom. I then installed T-Mobile's cab file found here, but not for US. I was hoping the servers were the same, but apparently not. Anyway, after attempting to uninstall the cab, I still found some traces of the settings set in the phone. I made sure all those were deleted and installed the information manually for T-Mobile in the US.

I'm using T-Mobile's triggering software, so I went through the registry steps outlined here: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=239456
to have my email triggered via sms messages to check for email.

The problem: Everytime I manually or trigger check my emails, I get the following message from Outlook on my TyTn:

Messaging (Window)
"You are currently roaming. Synchronizing may result in additional charges."

I know for a fact I'm not roaming. Any help here? I couldn't find anything close on the search through the forums. T.I.A.

This has nothing to do with the BLACK2 rom. it has got to do with the CAB you installed from Tmobile.

If its not the cab, then its your telco/carrier.

Also, dont start a new thread, this thread should be migrated with the Black official thread where issues are discusses.

jj, it's only a problem with Outlook messaging. Do you know of a method to disable this check in the registry? I'd hate to hardreset everything to realize it wasn't the cab file I installed. Much help appreciated and great job on this app.

I don't think it's just with Outlook and not just with the Black ROM. I've experienced the same error/behavior with XpressMail (push) from Cingular. I have not found a solution.

Are you using T-Mobile (US) SIM card in your Cingular 8525?

No, Cingular SIM, Cingular service. I have also not installed any additional CABs. I also have never had any other problems with phone/data transfer/email, just XpressMail for some reason. Every time XpressMail thought about doing something it replied "...Roaming..."

Interesting. Is your Outlook working fine? I haven't tred XpressMail. I also get the triangle at the top of my phone (meaning roaming). I don't see why I'm roaming if I'm connected to T-Mobile's network. i'm confused madly.

Ok I confirmed it's definately not the radio 1.40.xx. JJ said it wasn't WM6 - Black 2.0 and I agree with him to some point.

So i went to use the latest WM5 Shipped Rom from Cingular/ATT: RUU_Hermes_CINGULAR_WWE_2_1_.15.502.3_6275_1.40.30 .00_108_Ship.exe

Get this!!! You ready??! Interesting find... I got the roaming icon after the WM5 OS was built. But! When it installed ATT's branded stuff from the extended ROM, the freakin roaming icon went away. Something in there changed it. We must disect this and figure it out. Any takers? I'd love to go back to wm6 but I won't until this is fixed.

Anybody found a solution to this? I have just upgraded my Cingular 8525 to WM6 (Black 3.01 and then 3.5), applied the Cingular settings CAB, and I am getting this error as well.

Still no fix for this. Sad to say bro, that JJ seems to be the only guy that should know the packaging of his black tyron roms, but the seems he doesn't care given he doesn't live in the US where it appears we suffer from these roaming icons. His latest build of Blacks (Tyron's) Shadow is most definately monstracity, but again, I can't use it with the annoying roaming icon trying to check my email and it won't because it think's i'm roaming where I know I'm not. WM5 seems to be the only solution for now until I get some hacker to figure it out. No time for me since I'm hella busy.

its an issue with cingular period! reflash to black4.0 and dont use Xpressmail its shit!! use activesync with excahnge 2007 and you will not get the roaming message.. also do not install the Cingular settings with the cab set them by hand and dont use MediaNet use wap.cingular
