Problem with my HERM300, please help!

Hi,

I have a T-Mobile MDA Vario II for 3 weeks. Loaded AKU 3.3.1 ROM, there was no freeze for 3 weeks. 2 days ago I realized the actual windows is closing automatically after 4-5 minutes from power on. Start menu is appears on request but disappear after 1 sec. If I can open a window somehow it closes immediatly. Please help!

more information would be nice.. like 3rd party app's, etc... maybe its something you recently installed.. if you eliminate all 3rd party apps then try going to a different rom

strange, because today I reflash the rom with black 2.0 and latest radio ROM but this problem is still exist. How can I do a full ROM erase?

you can try a hard reset which instructions can be found in the wiki... or try to flash a different rom entirely

I did the hard-reset! The problem still exist! There is no appliacation installed only the pure Black Pro 2.0. I can't imagine what could be the problem! With the AKU 3.3.1 rom I got the same result. Is the any system log or something like this?

Previously I forgot to write an other strange thing. When I open the keyboard and the phone switched to landscape mode the start-menu open and close automatically in every second so I can't do anything in landscape mode!

Oh oh... This sounds bad. There are a few reported cases of:

1. Start Menu opening when going into landscape mode
2. Applications closing for no obvious reason.

The commonly accepted explanation for this is that there is pressure being put on the touch sensitive screen top right hand corner. So when in portrait mode the phone thinks you are tapping the "X" to close a programme. And when in Landscape mode that is the corner that opens the START menu.

Only a couple of things to try I'm afraid before sending in for repair/warranty replacement.

A. Run a business card under the screen bezel around that corner. You are trying to release pressure between screen and casing.

B. Slacken by one quarter turn the two screws on the backside of the screen. Again to release pressure on screen.

In case you wonder why it's OK for 4/5 minutes, that's because the device starts of cool and them warms up when beiing used and this creates a small expansion internally.

Other tip: try to realigned the screen. I had this problem, but now, tytn is fine.
