Improve WiFi signal reception?

The WiFi signal reception is much stronger on my Dell Axim x3i compared to my Hermes.

Has anyone been able to improve their reception and how?

changing > Settings> Connections> WiFi> Power Mode to 'Best Performance' has helped me.
