Yeah, I saw how to creat .lnk to certain dll's or exe files but I am looking to browse a particular folder. For instance "\storage card\my music\". I don't know how to create that as a .lnk file. Post 740 I think is on the right track but I think it is the last half of the step. I need the first half of the step, how I begin.

I use the iconfig on this thread. It is also listed on the home page of this thread. Or you can open the config.txt file of the "page" you want to edit and manually type in the location of the .exe or the .lnk.

I am sure this is no big deal to everyone else but it took me a while on how to figure it out. I used some of the references from page 41 post 408 in this thread to figure it out since it wasn't spelled out for a newbe like me. I need things really simple:D . Any way here we go:

I wanted a direct link to file explore my music on my storage card.
23#"\windows\fexplore.exe"\Storage Card\My Music

First open a new .txt file to type your destination in too.

As listed in the above referenced post:
23 represents the number of characters between and including the quotes " ". Whatever yours adds up to change the number to that.

The first \ inside the quotes represent the root to find the explorer program you will want to use. I use the windows based file explorer found under "\windows".

The second \ directs to the next potential location of the file. In my case file explore is located directly under the windows root. So, "\windows\fexplore.exe" But if you use Total Commander located under windows then start menu then programs it would look like this "\windows\start menu\programs\total commander.exe". Or however your is layed out with the location of your program.

Third, you must layout the path that your explorer program will search. It must but right up against the last set of quotes". It must start with the root symbol as well \. Followed my the location you want to search in under the root. In my \Storage Card. The another \ represents the next location and so forth and so on until you get to the destination of the information you want to link to. No quotes " " needed.

Save the .txt file. I recommend giving it the name of where the link is headed.

Finally, once it is saved, modify the name to be .lnk and delete .txt extention from the file name.

I used my pc to create the .txt file for ease of entry. I then copied it to my device and renamed it there to the .lnk. I then opened the iconfig program and pointed the icon I wanted to use there. You could just as easily edit the config.txt file you want if you don't want to use the iconfig program.

I am not sure of the device you using but on most wm5 and wm6 devices they post can be found under the my device route \windows.

The following links are the ones I used to customize my device to iphone style. Remember, once you download a cab file it install any program it is best to give the device a soft reset before use. I always wait 2-3 minutes after an install before I reset. Anyw, here you go:

First of all, download the .cab from the first page of this post.
Also, download the Configuator linked to the first page of this post.

Next I would recommend google maps. You can search their site and find the .cab for mobile devices pretty easy.

For weather i use a free one called Weather Watcher 1.5. Google that as well.

You can find a nice file/internet explore here on xda called Picsel. Probably the closet thing as of yet to the iphone feel for navigation of websites and device exploration.

Vtap is an awesome youtube searcher with its own buildt in player. Just go to Vtap.com...

Anyway, you can find most of it here on this site or by googling. Happy iphoning.

I tried this lookalike app (thanks to Grumps) and I love it.
But i cant get a lnk file work for me.

I tried...

and so on....

I linked the lnk file but iphone app fade to black... and went to my home screen back.

Anybody who get a lnk file work on WM6 Touch?

Am I the only one have trouble with memory using iPhone like ?
I love this product but I'm obliged to soft reset every two days or each days if I use many soft in the day.
So I'me obliged not use this soft and I'm very sorry of this.

OK I tried it again. The iConfig does not work on the Wizard/8125. It looks great when loaded but if the icons do not work and you can't easily get to your phone settings and so on, then its just eye-candy... There should be config.txt files for each phone already packaged up...

First off a big thanx to Grumps for designing such a wonderful program. Now, I wish I were as technically savvy as most of you are on this post but I'm not! We all have our gifts right? So if anyone could help I would really appreciate it. Been trying for weeks to put this together correctly on my wife and myself tmobile mda running windows mobile5. I have all the icons i want just can't figure out the correct configuration for a few links. I would like youtube to go straight to youtube. (already downloaded files tcpmp and correct plugin,it's working fine.) Also Orb, the same would like it to go straight to Orb. I hope this help:
To use an application or programs with some parameters you have to follow this steps:
Example open directly a www page assigned to 1st icon:

Edit your config.txt in \progrmas\iphone folder (default folder)
This file contain 3 groups of 16 rows:
1st row of 1 group: assign the icon ( ex: \progrmas\iphone \icons\11-tools.bmp) you can change to another icons
1st row of 2 group assign a icon’s name (ex: YouTube)
1st row of 3rd group insert \programs\iphone\youtube.lnk (see below instruction)
Save your config.txt

On your pc or using a txt editor (notepad under windows) edit a file: youtube.txt insert:
23#"\Windows\iexplore.exe" www.youtube.com ( 23 is the number of characters including quotes)
Save the txt file and move under \programs\iphone folder and rename youtube.txt in youtube.lnk (using file manager or other tools)

Lunch iphone application and tap the 1st icon.

Does anyone know how to make a shortcut to the memory / open process task manager? I have installed several others but they run in the task bar, so launching from a button in the iPhone interface does nothing... I would like a task manager that does not stay running, but can be called from a button in the iPhone interface.

Sorry answered my own question! Found this cool utility called runing programs, link here... http://www.digitalpocketpc.com/running_programs.htm

Just link a button in the iPhone.exe application to it and it quickly opens the default memory manager on WM6.0, much better then having to keep shutting down iPhone.exe to make it work...

worked for me....in the to you can either add the number or the contact name as it appears in your contacts.

I farted around with this for a while, and the above saved as a .lnk worked like a charm...

i am new hear.

i have a problem with the .link files and the iphone skin. I am using the MDA Vario II.

I cannot call .lnk files with the iphone skin. For simple check i use the standard contact lnk. Because of the german umlaute "Startmenü", i copied the lnk to the skin folder.

when i start the lnk directly, it is ok. In the config.txt, i use following command: \Programme\iphoneskin\Kontakte.lnk

Then the display will be black and returns to the skin.

What's wrong?!?

hi folks, just wanted to say this app works brill on my wizard. im running 2003 SE only one question. ive got this configured for everything from destinator (sat nav) to ms reader but i can't find a link or path for 'settings' on my device. looked all through windows??? if someone could post me the path for my os (ie Windows\?) would make this menu perfect for me

Features :
1. All the icons can be customized in a simple Config.txt File.
2. All the Text under the Icons is also in the Config.txt File
3. All Applications thats executed can be customized in the Config.txt file

Lemme Explain about the Config.txt

Its in the Following Format :
1.It first has the 16 icons paths as in \Icons\*.bmp
2.Then 16 Names for the icons
3.The then 16 application paths that will run for the apps as in \Windows\calendar.exe for example to launch the calendar

Installation : (ill create a cab file eventually)
1. Create a Folder under \Program Files\IPhone and copy all the files in there :
\IPhone\Iphone.exe
\IPhone\Config.txt - Configuration File
\IPhone\Signal.txt - App to run when clicking on Signal Indicator
\IPhone\Icons - All Icon Files
\iphone.txt - Other settings

Final Notes :
Clicking on the battery will quit the app

Why doesn't the Iphone.exe doesn't run for me on my PPC 6800? I get this;

File or assembly name 'OpenNETCF,Version=1.4.50804.0, Culture=neutral,PublickKey Token=30C767B29D52D6E6, or one of its dependencies, was not found.

I am having the same issue with my 6700. Would you mind telling me how you fixed your problem?

I LOVE THIS APP!! it's one of the few (if not the only) aye-fone interface apps working on the wm2003, and it only has only single issue with me:

HOW, god, HOW can I change the "No Service" to something different? In Signal.txt only contains "\Storage Card\Program Files\Slide2UnLock\Slide.exe", how can this be used??

I released 0.96 and ALL known bugs are sorted out it only had one though as far as i know.

Other feutures is that it now shows number of unread messages,email and missed call count.

Please test on WM2003 as well. If you guys use a WM2003 device and it shows Searching... in the network operator name then please change the following registry key and enter your operator name where it says searching

\HKLM\System\State\Phone\Current Operator Name

I've found something that's called gCalc that has an iPhone theme. But it's appereantly not made for WM6, as I cannot run it. Or maybe I'm missing some vital software? Even after the hard reset, the application fails to work properly. Any ideas?

I am using a Norwegian phone, and hasn't encountered any problems with that. It might be a software crash, or some other software that disturbs. Have you tried reinstalling? Or soft reset? I would also try and disable any background processes that might be running. Do you have the latest NETCF?

Hey guys, nice program.
But, i wanted to create a shortcut to new text message so launched my editor at desktop pc and created a document. in it i putted

and i saved it in the format (lnk), so when i run it on my mobile device it works fine :D but when i link it with the application the screen just turns black and again the iPhone screen appears.
Somebody any suggestions ?

I figured it out! For all who may be interested:

I have no idea why my original shortcuts (.lnk files) would work from File Explorer but not the iPhone App but I figured out that the problem was that I had the wrong number for the length argument (21#). It should have been:

23#"\Windows\iexplore.exe"http://m.youtube.com/?warned=yes&warned=0

The 23# refers to the program (in this case iexplore.exe), it's entire path AND the quotation marks! Also, notice there is no space between the second quotation and the argument (in this case the web address for youtube).

Just wanted to share for anyone having the same problem. Took me three days to figure this out.

By the way, this is a great app. Thanks a million to the original author and the ones who have updated it.

Will any more work be done on it? I definitely could provide some improvement / feature requests!

This is an INCREDIBLE app! Had it booting up on startup, three pages of custom icons, but unfortunately the memory leak has forced me to go back to my SPB menu.. :( If only someone could work on the memory leak... Anyone out there working on that? :D

EveryThing is working fine and it looks great but when i tap an icon the all the others disappear in a very very slow movement....

I tried to use iConfig to increase the speed of disappearance but it remains too much slow....

Hi All, Newbie here...
First off, great app!!!
I have been having similar problems with getting links to work and I think I have found the problem.
Follow the previous instructions and create a text file on your desktop
enter text ie: 20#"\Windows\tmail.exe"-service "Windows Live"
save file and rename to something like tmail.lnk
copy to your phone
NOW HERE IS THE CATCH, DONT OPEN THE PROPERTIES OR EDIT IT ON THE PHONE! I do not know why, but the links will work unless I go to the properties and try to change them on the phonel. As soon as you edit them on the phone, they stop working in the iphone screen. They will work if ran manually.
Hope this helps, maybe some more experienced people can explain.

when it has been launched for some time and goes to standby and is being woke up after a while my screen wont turn on but i can see faint text asking for a password. i wont go unless i soft reset.

is this a pw for my TyTN or the iphone app ? i hav'nt set any pws for my handset so what is the default codes i'v try the 1234 0000 12345 but nothing works

awesome program! I have one minor problem with it though. When I am running the program and try to slide up to launch the CUBE it is less sensative, meaning I need to use the very tip of my finger instead of being able to just swipe my thumb up. Is there ANY way to adjust/return JUST that setting back to stock?

2. submenues ? this will be a very good option to create i link in the mainwindow (example apps) press it and you come to your favorite apps
3. plugins (i have a couple of plugins, diary, is this possible to open this complete in one site ?

I've searched the thread and it seems that many have difficulty linking to the default pOutlook.exe contacts file for the built-in Contacts program.
