Well, it comes up, then just closes again.

I also keep getting notification errors saying: "cannot execute \\windows\timewizard.exe"

EDIT:

Ok, fixed both problems after running Clear Storage. :)

What's different on the second release?

Well, I replaced Adobe with PocketXpdf, added PIMBackup and SMSDRFix. I also removed a couple of power tweaks, and modded the CommManager to reflect current functionality. I may upload a slightly modded version here shortly to get the PIM Backup shortcut back into the menu as well as associate .pdf files. I didn't do my homework there.

I installed the newest comm manager with the voip and flight mode in it, but now i can't switch on my wlan through the comm manager anymore. I got the green looking comm manager. Anyone has an idea?

You don't have to upgrade. However, there are a few apps I added that make this ROM a bit more "business friendly". The rest of the functionality is for all practical purposes identical.

Since nobody comes up with an answer I found the remedy in the Hermes thread. I had to delete the WLAN key from the HKLM-Software-HTC-Comm key and reboot. That did the trick.

Serious problem. I can't make any calls on my phone. When I hit the talk button to send or recieve a call I get this high pitched noise from my phone. I've tried 3 different ROMS to hopefully remedy the problem. Not to pass blame but it all started after using the ROM from this thread. Any ideas?

Flash back to your carrier ROM and see if that doesn't fix it. If it doesn't you know it's a hardware issue.

There is not a fix for that yet. I may have something, but I haven't yet had a chance to test it.

Must be a hardware thing then. Just went to T-Mobile's latest ROM. Same problem. Funny, I haven't dropped it or anything. Just had it sitting on the table next to me when it rang. I've had the phone for over a year so I'm about ready for an upgrade anyway:D . But damn I don't want to pay for a new PPC.

Yup, that's a GSM issue. I notice you have GSM 2.28 on your phone. I wonder if flashing one of the newer radio-only ROM's would help. 2.19 UK seems to be the best for most WM6 devices.

Hi,

of the vasrious ROMs i tried this appears to be the most stable and good on battery. Buddy thanks for this great ROM.

Just one issue the WM 10 does not seem to have all the codecs required to play many types of files. Is there a way to install these codecs. I will be greatefull of somebody can give a link to any codec package for PPC.

edit:

I just wanted to add that I'm shocked my the stability of WM6.
I seriously can't believe it.
With WM5 I was resetting at least every couple of days, if not daily. I would get lock ups, and just general slow-to-a-crawl things on WM5 to where I'd have to reset it.

Since I installed WM6 saturday night the only time I had to reset was to install some software. I have not had a single lock up or need to reset other then that. :)

I currently have the bone stock ROM from T-Mobile right now. No change. Another thing I've noticed is that the phone shuts itself completely down after sitting idle for a little while. Don't know what that's about either.

The radio ROM provides improvements on the GSM radio stack and this has effect on GSM signal, AT command interface, GSM data modem (3G, GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, etc...) functionality that is controlled by the Radio Interface Layer (RIL). The radio stack has nothing to do with WiFi or bluetooth -- it is only for the GSM/WCDMA part of the device.

Just flashed the 2.19 UK ROM. Not happening. Phone still makes the wierd sound. Kind of like when you hold your phone too close to the speakers in your house or car. Can't be a TMO problem because the wife's Dash works perfectly. Too strange.

has anyone else noticed any glitchy behavior with the Messaging app?

i.e.
I get a text, I read it, then I don't close out of messaging, I just hit the End key to go back to the today screen.
Then I get another message, I hit the message button and it takes me to the list.
Then when I select the message to read and try and open it it kicks me back out to the today screen.
Then if I hit the messaging button again, it will take me straight to the message I was trying to open.
It will keep doing that until I close completely out of the messaging app and re-open it.

It seems to be doing it for both texts, and emails.

Anyone else notice this?

Ok, I need to take back what I said about the 2.47.11 radio.
I was missing calls, voicemails, and texts with it!
Reading around that seems to be a common problem on that radio.
Sorry if I mislead anyone.

I've been using this ROM for three weeks now (first release) and it's flawless, it works very well on my Wizard :) . I haven't found any problems (besides the initial small problems that went away by themselves), and it gives enough free memory so I can use memory-hungry programs for the whole week without having to reset to regain lost memory :) . Battery life is very good, as well, no penalty here. And it provides the right mix of bundled applications for me, except Cyberon Voice Speed Dial that I've installed from a CAB (Voice Command works well only with English, so I can't use it).

Congratulations, jwzg, you cooked a fine ROM ;) . It's probably going to stay here for a long time, there's no reason to change something that works so well (don't fix what is working!)

All reg fixes will be integrated into the ROM and I will probably issue this ROM as a package for cooking. We'll see. BTW, this was made with double_ofour's kitchen after a disastrous attempt to build a .1413 based ROM with the same kitchen.

Hey everyone.
I have a Tmobile Qtek9100 with an imate ROM 2.16 and thinking of upgrading.
When i first flashed the rom i sim and cid unlocked ( or hope i did :P ). Since then i kind of forgotten what G my phone is. How do i check that?
Is there a step by step help file how i should upgrade?
http://rs97.rapidshare.com/files/29557057/WM6BE2.rar
I downloaded that but can i get a stept by step flashing procedure ? 10x guys

Edit : 0. First determine if you got a G3 or a G4 device. When you turn on your device from can can see you're IPL and SPL version on the screen. If you got IPL/SPL 1.xx or 2.xx you've got a G3 device. If the IPL/SPL shows 2.xx.xxx1 you've got a G4. Go to step G3.1 if you got a G3 and G4.1 if G4.

it's a G3

G3.1 Does you're device start normally? YES... go to step G3.5, NO go to step G3.2
YES

G3.5 Is your device CID-unlocked (note: it's not the same as SIM-unlocked!)? YES... go to step G3.7, NO OR DON'T KNOW go to step G3.6.

YES

G3.7 Download T-Mobile 2.26 rom and flash it to your device! Done? Go to step G3.8.
I have imate 2.16. Is it really necessary to go through 2.26 before WM6???

G3.8 You're reade to flash the AKU2, AKU3, WM6 rom of you're choise! It wasn't that hard, was it? If you still got an older OS version after flashing then you're not CID-unlocked! Go back to start!

A little bit of help would be appreciated. 10x.

Everyone is grumpy when people take over a technical discussion on a specific rom asking for help on how to flash and what is the best rom (neither are on topic to this thread). There are specific threads just for people asking what is the best WM6, and how to properly flash a rom, and what the steps are. I'll leave it at that.

I'd just like to express my thanks for a wonderful ROM. I flashed it initially when it came out, used it for 3 weeks, then tried most of the subsequent ROM's that appeared afterward. Always though, I came back to the Bus. Ed. Rom. Kudos of a fast, and ROCK solid ROM!

Unfortunately I've had to shelve those plans indefinitely. I'm back at work which pays the bills. Also, I'm getting ready to repatriate and my wife is a bit stressed if I spend too much time on the computer when I should be culling old clothes.

In addition, I'm sure there will be an official WWE release of the 5.2.1413 ROM by the time I'm off work in June, and I don't see any need to pre-invent the wheel. The current version is stable as well. I may update the current file with an integrated version using the .968 build, but other than that, writing this post is hard for me since my time is pretty restricted.
