W6BE (Wizard 6 Business Edition) ROM
WM6 (Build 17217.0.0.0) 6MB Page Pool
44.5 MB Storage Mem / 27.3 MB Prog. Mem. on startup.
Contents: ROM only
Usable for UNLOCKED G3 and G4 devices.
Well I've been wanting a Vanilla WM6 ROM for a while so I can get productive with my device once again instead of flashing every 30 minutes. This ROM is based on the original mUn ARTM but modified with a plethora of items from different places around the board. I believe this is as close to a factory wizard ROM as you can get. It is stable and runs well at stock speeds. It's designed as a flash and forget ROM for those wanting to be a bit less bleeding edge. It is Vanilla, yet actually kind of heavy as you must remove some things like MSQL, Autoupdate and PocketXpdf to really get some room to work on it. I use the 2.69.11 GSM, but Cingular users should probably use the Tmob UK 2.19.11 version.
Thanks to each of the following people for pieces or support:
mUn: Base ROM
Molski: ROM Kitchen
Faria: Support and just being a cooking demigod
VivaErBetis: 10-Button CommManager and SIM Manager 6.10 cabs
Anichillus: Getting the darned Office folder working and sounds fix.
My wife and kids: Putting up with a gimp for 6 weeks
Alright what's in it? All are latest releases unless you know of a newer one. ;)
-MS Voice Command
-VoIP working (I'm working on power settings so wifi doesn't shut off after 2 min.)
-10-Button CommManager (Edit: VOIP button has been disabled because the button doesn't work yet)
-PocketXpdf replaced Adobe. (Edit: Why? Adobe is 2MB while PocketXpdf is only just over 1 MB)
-IAZip
-Arcsoft MMS
-Tao Java
-HTC Camera
NEW!
-PIM Backup 1.8 (thanks Dotfred)
-SmartSKey is in \Windows. It is not activated by default.
-SMSDRFix (thanks Saaman)
-StartClean (activated)
What isn't?
-Streaming Media
-Marketplace
-All MMS templates
-Sounds in My Documents
-Pictures in My Documents
-Voice Speed Dialer (see bottom of post)
-T9 Support
Tweaks
-Camera has no template function and MMS is set to custom.
-TIF reset to main memory
-"Turn WiFi on" removed from bubble (Wireless Manager now allows you to access CommManager to turn WiFi on and off)
Issues not addressed:
-Ringtone selection (hint: play your ringtone before closing the settings page)
-Sounds are set to WM6 default so you have the menu click
This is a tech only thread dedicated to issues with this ROM. DO NOT SAY "MY WIZARD IS STUCK IN BOOTLOADER." or I will personally find you and have you castrated with one very rusty fillet knife (ouch!).
Since there are a proliferation of ROM's based on the Double_ofour and Faria kitchens coming out, this will be my last update.

I am still very active in testing and providing feedback in various capacities, but I apologize if I offended anybody with my comments. If you have any beef with me, PM me - don't make it part of the actual thread.
I apologized, but my original words were more sarcastic and hopeful than anything; I had just been trying to get my Wizard to properly work for the entire day and was quite fed up, so I had to vent in the most minimalistic way possible - I did not acuse anybody, I was not against attempting to resolve current issues with the Xplore ROM. All I was trying to do was temporarily fix the problems I was having by testing a new ROM, I would've (and now plan on) returning to the Xplore rom, anyway.
I will be PM'ing you, anichillus.
Thanks

Installed quickly and effortlessly. I did notice the camera problem as well. Tried loading Faria's camera files and it did not help. It would not even attempt to bring up the camera in the MMS app either. More updates to follow as more is tested.

This sounds interesting. . . perhaps I've missed the original thread, if not, would you mind PMing me a link to this ROM? I've been using Xplore 1.1, but it is absolutely pissing me off - I'm having issues with it I never had before.
Just as long as you didn't remove the calculator, I'd love to test this out (if possible?).
Thanks!
Sorry for asking this in your thread jwzg but I need to know so that I can fix them.
So .. hpspec, pls PM me with your problems with Xplore 1.1

Wifi turned on right away and connected easily.
Camera app works in the "Pictures & Videos" app.
Menu speed is fastest I have seen so far compared to Xplore 1.1 and MB edition roms.

Sorry for being an pain.. but what's this different with the current Xplore? I like the idea of running at stock speed (you can do that with Xplore too).. but it is very difficult to see what's the difference. I did a check list, of BE-vs-Xplore list, it goes
-10-Button CommManager vs 9 Buttons
-Adobe Acrobat LE 2.0 (same)
-IAZip vs noting
-Arcsoft MMS (same)
-Tao Java vs Intent MIDlet
-HTC Camera vs Camera (are they the same?)
-nothing vs Pim backup
-nothing vs SmartSkey
-nothing vs WM9 codecs
I know it is fun to cook your own ROM, and I'm very well happy that you are putting good effort into it, but I think you might want to consider your designing phase a bit more carefully. As it is named Business Edition, are you aiming to be a bit more towards 'business' users? Do you want to consider things like having more PIM 'chocolate' into your 'vanilla'?
Again, sorry for making a fuss here without much contributions.. but just I like to be clear to avoid another good ROM cook efforts without much being appreciated as ROMs start overlapping each other :) Keep on the good work.

Those things are easily added by the user. The idea is to put out a vanilla ROM that doesn't have things that some people don't need. For instance I use Sprite Backup and don't need separate PIM backup software. I will consider it and it's VERY easy. Smartskey is not included, because once the .ini is in ROM, you can't edit it to customize the function as it becomes a read-only document. Install it yourself.
As for the codecs, I didn't know they weren't already in this ROM. Anichillus has done some work here, so I'll work with him to see what needs to happen.
BTW, I know you qulaified your criticism, but until you start turning out ROM's don't be too critical.

Hi,
First impressions. Loaded uneventfully, longer at 100% than others, but completed no problem. Seems quick, but will do benchmarks when I've "loaded" it up. Clean, stock look. Programs loading fine so far.
Most glaring issue:
Office program shortcuts are missing from Start Menu > Programs, and separate "Office" folder is not present either. Probably left out the folder by mistake during build.
Thanks for Voice Command in rom, will save me lots of memory.
Good job!

I've got most everything installed. I like it! Likely because I had loaded and tweaked x-plore to death, I had recently been having some problems syncing which I hadn't had time to work out. This rom is running smoothly, and seems to be pretty much equivalent to x-plore but with a cleaner look, and has voice command installed in rom, which I like! I also like not having smartskey preinstalled, as I don't use it, preferring BatteryStatus instead. I also liked that the extended rom does not attempt to load after a hard reset, which keeps people out of trouble (since this cooker has designed what he wants loaded IN the rom already). I have added my favorite speed tweaks, and OC'd with batterystatus, and things are humming along happily. Finally, I just got a bluetooth GPS, and it was much simpler getting TomTom to connect than with x-plore.
Good job!

Alright...I've cooked two ROM's in a row and can't get the damned office folder to appear. I KNOW I can do this through editing the initfileflashes.dat file, but I don't believe you have to do that as it does not appear in any of the initfileflashes.dat files in any of the other ROM's. I don't know why it just started doing this.

Rom is quite fast and stable....No issues with it on my end.
Haven't missed any calls and GPRS is working fine.
I was kind of confused about the office folder....downloaded and installed the new version.
I like the comm manager window with the various button. MMS is no issue, able to send and receive fine. I haven't tried wireless connection yet, hopefully tonight or tomorrow.
So far, everything I tested is kicking ass. All my favorite programs installed and working fine.

That a problem? Remember that fillet knife? LOL! Seriously I thought about taking it out, but the idea was to get a ROM as close to stock as possible. Ultimately I've made this ROM very easy to cook on your own as adding packages or editing the .hv and initfileflashes.dat files is easy because they've been cleaned up quite a bit.
Can you guys also check the midlet manager? I don't use it at all and want to make sure it's OK. Also, if someone has a help file for it they can send, that would be great as I'm trying to get all the help files sorted out. Remember, it's flash and forget too, so the more of the little details I have worked out, the easier the end-user's life is.

Absolutely. Autorun and config.txt files are found in the windows folder and run on initial startup and at each hard reset. Of course there's nothing in there, so you can add your own stuff. I may put in the AKU 3.3 BT A2DP files soon, just to have something there.

Nice work, jwzg.
I had a few issues with Faria's 1.1 ROM, I was wondering if this ROM fixed them.
Issue 1) Pressing end call disconnected GPRS rather than minimising app
Issue 2) Device kept waking up periodically
Issue 3) Dates seemed a bit screwy (?)
This ROM looks great, but after a week of stability of not reflashing every other day, I'm wondering if I should hold out for the moment.

im thinking u should remove voice command.... :\
Ok, so you've expressed your displeasure about this twice in this thread. Some of us use and really like VoiceCommand (I understand not everyone does, but thats what makes different flavors to different roms) and I'm glad to see it back in a rom (I like vanilla, but I also like key apps I use built in when they can be). Not every rom is for everyperson (I didn't install XPlore 1.0 because of some of the things that were in it and left out of it. Does that make it a bad rom? no, it was an excellent rom from what I understand, but not one that fit for what I was looking for. Xplore 1.1 came out and it was more to my liking (still had some stuff and removed some stuff that didn't fit for me but I decided I could live with that).
The Chef of a rom can add and remove what they want. If you want different, then grab a base and cook up what you want by adding and removing the herbs and seasonings that you like or dislike.
If you don't want to start cooking, then find a rom that fits your taste and use that one. But let the chef cook what they want as they usually have a reason and intended use for what they add and leave out.

Gentlemans, please don't argue. Nothing good can came out good out of a fight.
It's true, you can never make the perfect rom for everybody. One can try, but I bet all my money that nobody will accomplish that.
This are my thoughts :
- It's more difficult to delete a program from the rom than to add, it requires more time and energy.
- Some use that program
+ Some don't use it and it only take out free mem/ram
so it's 2-1 for keeping it, but that depends on the cook ;)

Some odds and ends:
1) I think I've read about this on other threads with other ROMs, but this morning I had set 3 consecutive alarms at 15 min intervals (poor man's snooze button). I went throught the first two alarms without problems, but at the third alarm I awoke to find the phone dialing screen activated, which I closed. However, the notification alert at the bottom of the today screen was gone, and I could not dismiss the alarm. Unticking the alarm, etc did not stop it. Eventually a soft reset worked. Again, this may not be ROM specific behavior as I've heard of similar things before.
2) Did you remove the toggle for having the phone get time updates from the cellular system? I can't find it. Again, this is fine as it usually causes problems, but if you are targeting a "stock" rom, it may be confusing for people who expect to see it. Just be sure to disclose it.
3) My cellular phone connection seems just as reliable as with any other WM6 rom, and is tolerable with the 2.19 radio.
4) I also like voice command, and saving the 3 mb or so storage memory by having it in ROM is nice for me. For me, this gives the rom an edge over competing roms at the moment, as functionally it seems on a par with other very good roms out there at the moment.

I see the ROM is now released! The baby is born! Thanks for letting me test this one.
I suggest you put the fact that Voice Command is in the rom on the initial post, as I think this will be a make or break issue for some, and will save the hassle of download for those who really dislike it. On the other hand, for those who really like it, (like myself) it will alert them that this is one to try!

None of these drain the battery.
I recommend Battery Status. There are different versions of Battery Status so you need to try a couple and see which works best for your device with the ROM you're using.
I've had trouble in the past with Omap Plus where it would not uninstall completely and caused enough issues for me to hard reset.
I wasn't invited to test this ROM ........... so have fun.

Best wishes,
I agree, keeping Voice Command is a good idea (IMO). I've never had any issues with it myself and to keep it in the ROM would help with storage space. For those who don't like Voice Command, they can install it on top of what's included in the rom to rewrite it and have it show up in "Remove Programs". Then you can remove it from the OS. This method works for programs built into the ROM.

Some things differe. It will leave a little mess in your registry, probably not noticeable ...but still

Your right, when you install a program on top of the same program, it will erase or attempt to erase the previous version so it can install the new version. Despite the differences in the programs, there will be some residue in the registry. That goes with anything else you do on your device. For those who are anal about having a super clean device, they can run a program like SKtools clean up the mess.

There is no IPL/SPL included. Only splash screen and ROM.
Don't get too upset about the jousting I was doing with Jacob. I was just kidding with him and understand his concern. I was trying to save a bit of room by removing CVD and though I like it and think it's compact, I don't like voice tags. However, some of my Asian friends like it because VC is absolutely horrible for recognizing Asian names. Don't be surprised to see it in a future release.
Regarding battery drain, if you flash it with less than 100 % charge, your battery will drop rapidly until it hits the actual level then slow down from there. I wouldn't be too worried about it as I've had mine last a bit over 2 days.
For overclocking, I use Omapclockplus. I don't like how Batterystatus crowds the Today screen and I think some of the data it generates is not always reliable. JMHO.
I hope you guys are enjoying this. I'm going to try to take a break from cooking until June or so, because I'm job hunting too and I'm ready to go back to limited duty at work. I will still be very active here. Wish me luck.

1) Ohh the problems I've had with notifications/alarms on ALL WM6 roms.
2) It's back in RC1
3) Connection is good with 2.69 and I've missed no calls. I'm also on China mobile and do not scale my processor.
4) VC was a tradeoff. Once again, I may put CVD in the final release. Stay tuned.

IPL: Initial program load - usually paired with Secondary Program Load (SPL), is the boot loader of your phone, much like the BIOS is the boot loader for your PC. Note: IPL/SPL are highly hardware dependent, flashing the wrong IPL/SPL is much more serious than a flashing the wrong ROM. It may be noted that, sometimes a ROM package also contains the IPL/SPL which will be flashed into your phone. Hence be extra careful what you are flashing. Note: although a ROM may also contains the IPL/SPL, `ROM` usually refers just to the OS (eg. the Windows Mobile 5, not the IPL/SPL) and the ExtRom.
SPL: Refer to `IPL`

Installed the ROM - looks excellent, thanks jwzg!
End call does properly minimise the apps (no need to hold button down), I've found the fix for random wake-ups (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299622), and I am one happy user.
One question, which might be user-related: when I had Faria 1.1 installed I had a working CPU meter with BatteryStatus, which was bundled. I've installed the Ext 1.xxx version I found on the FTP site, but it always seems to read 195 Mhz? Is there a certain version I need that I don't have?
Again, kudos to jwzg!

Hi, Battery Status just needs to be set up. And it can be a bit tempermental. (see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=302887 ). Set it up first in the Settings > Personal >Today > Items > Battery Status > Options dialog. Once it is set up, tapping the line on the today screen will toggle overclocking. Holding the pressure on the line will open the options dialog as well.
Have fun!

This rom, XPlore, and NotTooSmart all came from the same base rom (mun aRTM), so my guess is that that issue is probably in the original rom and hasn't been cooked out, so its propogated into the ones from it (maybe add that to teh XPlore "The Core" thread so it can be removed / fixed)?

It is a glitch, but one that I'm afraid is unavoidable. The SMS template is a .htm document. Guess what happens when IE has cleartype enabled? You get a cleartype template. If you can find a workaround, win a trip to Oz.

Guys, I have no problem here. Only if you cook do you know the amount of obstacles you have to overcome, and if it's impossible, well, we'll just try find a way to make it happen. If someone is griping, it lets you know that you can make it more user friendly. It's also good if you know the cook is not a stuck up prig who thinks he knows it all. I get treated a lot better that way and I get a LOT of help from a LOT of people on the forum.
That being said, polish and detail is what makes the difference between between a good ROM and a great one. Believe me, I want to have a great ROM, so constructive criticism is welcome and encouraged.
BTW, the final release of this ROM should be posted in a few hours. There are a lot of fixes in here and I want to be really careful about respecting the work of others (mainly Anichillus and faria) who have been gracious enough to help in the midst of their own projects.

Anyone noticed the battery life? Mine is going down fast and I don't even have battery status installed yet. Maybe it's just me....I'm gonna mess around a little bit more and see what the issue is.
Other than that this is a great ROM for "business users". Out of my 2 MDA's, one is only used for business purposes and this kicks ass.
Thanks jwzg for including me as one of the original testers also.
Always check the little things first. I usually just use only my usb cable to charge my phone with my pc. That night I had hooked it up to my electrical charger and never bothered to see if it was plugged into the wall (this was after 17 hours straight of work).
So....no issue on the battery side.

My compliments to the chef! I do like the business quality of this ROM. It doesn't have a lot of the bloat you find in other ROMs and seems to really perform well given the amount of use it gets.
I am hoping that somebody might be able to help me with something. When you select the hard button for messaging it will bring you straight to text msg inbox or MMS, but won't rotate all the way to Outlook. I have to either select /menu/goto/outlook, or I can drop down from Inbox and select the Outlook inbox. IS there a way for me to program the Button to go straight to my Outlook Inbox every time? (As a business user I don't need MMS or SMS anyway)
Two possible Add-ons... There is a good registry editor out there which comes in handy, as well as an "X Button" app that really closes the application so you don't end up with a ton running in memory. (or can somebody point me to where I might find them?)

Has anyone else had problems with the phone not vibrating when in vibrate mode when getting a text message? If I send myself a text message the phone vibrates with the send notification, but then I just get the incoming text message notification but the phone doesn't vibrate.
I've checked my phone has vibrate ticked for 'Messaging: Next Text Message' and the phone correctly vibrates for an incoming call. I've also tried a soft reboot and changing the speaker volume / vibrate mode.

Installing did go rather slow.
Never really had a flash being stuck at 100 %.
nice to see that the Two faria loading screens i had just flashed weren't removed by you ROM.
I expected to get the language setup in this build but no luck there.
(like it was said to be in official WM6 roms)
I think i get your intent on this vanila.
It hasn't been tweaked to the max by removing useless stuff.
I love the 10 button Comm manager screen. (gonna beg FARIA to get it into one of his builds)
I've been waiting for a Flight mode button somewhere.
I imeddiatly put back the SPBackup i've been making on the faria Rom.
I can't really go into commenting the ROM as your intention was to get it out there as fast as possible and as clean as possible.
Speed is fine.
This is really a ROM for people to customize themselves.
Put it would be nice if you could still strip the Feedback option in settings.
Thanks for the effort of getting this out there.
It looks like a good cookable rom no bells and wistless indeed.
No issue with missed calls and text messages or disapearing rings. (radio 2.69 in NL)
Now i just need to wait for the FARIA vanila to compare to this one because comparing your version to the Faria BT just isn't fare. And all these bitches complaining about missing stuff should maybe better understand what the intention of this rom is.

no problemo. I uses resco registry editor....
i just followed this little guid from mobiletopsoft.com (found it in google)
FIrst get a registry editor (i used resco)
After getting registry editor you just need to follow the steps below:
1. tap Start > Settings > System > Screen > ClearType and make the Enable ClearType box ticked on.
2. Start the registry editor and navigate your way to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings
3. Mark the DWORD entry titled, OffOnRotation
4. By default it has value of 1. You need to edit the value to 0.
5. You need just to Accept the changes and soft-reset your Pocket PC
Other than that... your rom is kick@$$. Guess we noobs are getting spoiled with all these little tweaks already done for us..nothing a little searching can fix.....
So far so good :):D

if it was just entering the password it would be okay but it seems that when i use the ''password lock fuction'' and push it on stand-by and back on again the today screen quickly show's to turn black again and sort of reload the page (this hapens in about one second).
and when i don't use the ''password lock fuction'' this doen't happen, so it's clearly the ''lock fuction'' that's causing it.
now how can I disable the password?? i know that normaly you can do this by disabeling this in the menu, but it's turned gray cause of the pushed policy i gues...
and i got the wake-up problem too, but that's also solved when the password is removed... :S
for the rest i can only say, REALY GOOD WORK, and that count's for al,most everything here, i'm really satisfied with my wm6 busniess edition, it rock's!!accept for the thing mentioned above...who can help me out??is there another register tweak to disable the lock?? thanks in advandce and excuse me for my bad english

I will go ahead and change the cleartype on rotation as well as add the DEFBROWSER fix. I am committed to customer service.
Epimazzo, I feel superb for all purposes. I had the scare of my life on Sunday though. I was going up some steps on crutches and didn't lift my good leg high enough. I came down on my bad leg. I thought I was going to throw up it hurt so bad. However, they prayed for me and 20 minutes later, I was not hurting at all and I can still move it. I pray no damage was done. I decided to stay home today after going to work yesterday. Hopefully I'll get my walking boot soon.
Thanks for the props on the ROM. I've been testing another and I really would just like to go back to mine and give this whole flashing thing a break.

is that enough info for you to work with?
i got a temparary solution, it's a reg chance.
I have been using a registry hack everyday to prevent my WM5 device from locking itself every 30 minutes. At around 7:00pm the company I work for forces a policy to my device using push email. At that time I open a registry editor and modify \hklm\security\policies\policies\00001023 from 0 to 1. That prevents the unit from asking for a password for 24 hours.
but mine is even worse cause the policy get's pushed to my vario every hour so it's an inpossible task to do this every time...
plz help me, thanks very much!

well, I do think it's anoying but of course that's personal...I like it quick and smooth, like it is supposed to be with the ''manufacterer rom'' no black screen's what so ever...
but as a tempary solution I also disabled the back-light auto turn off option.

Yesterday I decided to go ahead and install this ROM :) . This is the first WM 6 ROM that I install. Previously I was using Faria's WM 5 AKU 3.3 ROM with great results, although it was a bit low on memory (8 MB page pool) which caused my device to freeze after some time of working hard with TextMaker, PlanMaker, PIM and QMail (still, Faria's was much more reliable than the official Qtek ROM that I had)...
I had to install radio 2.19.11 T-Mob UK, I was aware of the issue of missed calls with other radios, so as soon as I verified that my Wizard did miss calls (it missed 3 out of 4 calls yesterday), I installed this radio. Today I'll see how it does. Since I have two SIMs with the same number I can keep my Nokia and Wizard turned on at the same time and receive calls on any; I'll know if it still misses calls.
I'm having a problem that I don't remember reading on this thread. Most of the times when I softreset the device (I'm installing new software, not that I'm having crashes :) ), it freezes during boot and I have to reset three, four or up to five times until it sucessfully boots to the Today screen (I'm with IPL/SPL 2.26, not sure if newer version will help).
Also I have no use for Voice Command, so I've disabled it (is that enough or I can disable something else?). I'm Spanish, so the voice recognition/speech engine isn't suited for me. I'll have to get the old voice dialer (now searching for a CAB installer). Anyway I agree that it's a great program, just only if English is all what you use.
BTW. Congratulations, it looks like an excellent ROM :) .

Hundreds of people have flashed this ROM with no issues, so it's either not unlocked or it's operator error. If you are having trouble flashing, do not write in this thread, so people don't have to wade through dozens of posts to get to pertinent info. This thread is only for issues related to ROM function. A hard reset may be in order. I would upgrade to 3.08 ipl/spl if you have a G3. I have had this issue with all Build 17217 based ROM's at least once, so give it a try and see if it doesn't help. If not, reflash. That's the best I can do for now.

remen, I'm not sure about the missed call issue. I'm running the 2.69 radio ROM and I've had no missed calls that I know of. Of course, I don't use my phone an extreme amount, but I do use the PDA functions a lot.

Now I don't have the ''wake-up on it's own'' problem anymore.
if people can't find the option, it's here
setting's> system> backlight> batterypower tab
and then disable the first funtion listed.

I found a minor issue...
when you configure the sounds and notifications and for example you want to change the ''new email notification'.
if you enable vibrating and the play you do here the sound but it won't vibrate...
while when you do that with ''incoming call'' it will do both... :D
all other settings I tried like sms and mms it won't just like the e-mail.
but it's minor cause when actualy get an e-mail it will vibrate.
so there is not really a problem it's only a little bit misleading.

I've had similar issues. My phone quite often doesn't vibrate when I get a text message despite being in vibrate mode. It's normally fine for calls, but I missed some calls today too because it didn't vibrate. :-(
I'm desperate to hear a solution for this one. The rom is great but missing calls/texts is making me think I'll have to downgrade back to WM5. :-(

Alot of people have had rapid battery loss because of corrupted extended rom when upgrading to WM6. One easy way to avoid that is to flash the t-moble 2.26 rom before upgrading. Try it and see if that helps you. Also make sure you have the screen brightness turned down, WiFi off, and automatic "off" enabled.
I my battery life was only about 50% over the course of a day with the usage you are describing with this rom.

Hi,
When I compose a new MMS message including a bitmap and some text and send it, it moves to Outbox correctly, but it never gets sent. Initiating Send/Receive comes back with a "could not synchronize" error message in the bottom-most status bar. The message can be moved back to Drafts, but it cannot be re-opened to edit contents by double-tap.
Anyone else having problem sending and editing MMS messages using this ROM, or is it me just screwing up somehow?

I've not had trouble with the vibration issue. My device is very consistent, but if I can pinpoint a problem, I'll fix it.
it seems that at the moment when you have the problem it won't vibrate and you use the ''slidefuction'' to set it to ''vibrate only'' and then back to tone and vibrate it will work again.
i'm thinking that this problem is comming from the folowing handeling.
when you get a call and silence it, with the same ''slidingfunction'' thereafter the problem's occur.
before that handeling everything seems to work fine, and after the ''sliding'' it won't vibrate anymore on any onfollowing messages or calls.
after that is said, using my ''solution'' wich is stated above everything works like a charm... :D

After two days using this ROM I have to say that it's working very well here :) . I come from Faria's WM 5 AKU 3.3 so the bar was high, but I'm getting better results with this ROM. It's slightly slower, sometimes the device feels a bit sluggish, but after two days using it I have enough free memory to run memory hungry applications, like TextMaker or PlanMaker, without having to reset first :) (unlike with Faria's) . If during the next weeks it keeps working like this, I'll be using it for a long time (fingers crossed).
Once I installed radio 2.19 I have no missed calls and text messages arrive immediately. The phone does vibrate and then ring. No problems in this area.
The only issue that I have is the one I mentioned earlier, often it fails to boot after a softreset. I'll look into this issue later and try what jwzg recommends. Since I don't have to reset, this isn't a big issue :) .
So thumbs up! :)
BTW, I don't use every feature, like VoIP, Voice Command or even Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, Messaging (only for text messages, for email I use QMail).

I got more of an annoyance. Not sure if it was answered on this thread or another. My ring tone keeps changing on me. I usually set my ring tones by right clicking on file explorer and selected my mp3 as a ring tone. Seem to work for a couple days, but I mess around in the phone settings and still leaving the mp3 set as my ringtone. I exit and then for some reason, comes back to the default windows mobile ring tone. small issue and i could deal with it, but if its solvable, that'll be great.

Hey guys..
Can someone tell me how to resolve the problem on wm6 bluetooth connection. It is possible to sent data to others but can't receive data from others.
I think the problem is the OBEX protocol in wm6, but don't no howto resolve this. I've tested 4 kinds of wm6 roms and the results are the same.
Im stuck on this one.

Unfortunately I found a bug. For some reason my Wizard doesn't work well with Bluetooth hands-free. I can hear audio, but the other end doesn't hear me :( . Tested with my Plantronic head-set and car hands-free :( .
Anyone else? Unfortunately this is a show-stoper for me, if a fix isn'f found I'll have to go back to Faria's WM5 AKU 3.3 ROM.

Alright, I checked the reg settings and everything was kosher. I then paired my laptop and device and sent a file to the device without issue. I'm using the MS Bluetooth stack on my laptop with dongle. I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong, but...

I am actually waiting on a couple of program updates that should be coming along in a few days. I'm also testing some power settings for keeping wifi up during VoIP calls. As of right now, I've only added SMSDRFix as well as SmartSKey in the "Programs" menu. I really wish I could get an icon for both programs so they don't look like empty shortcuts.
I've gotta see if I can find my credit card right now. I used it to buy something online the other day from my couch and hopefully a 1 year old hasn't put it somewhere. Uggghhh!

Ok..this is what i did:
1. Nokia n70, select foto -> sent via bluetooth....found my wizard..select the wizard and the process went well, but after a sec or 2. it says" image sent failure" on n70.
2. Dell Axim X50v(wm5), select foto -> sent via bluetooth recipient: found my wizard..select wizard same problem..
3. Downgrade to wm5 original..everyting seems to be ok with bluetooth on wm5.
I can't found errors on the wizard device.
So i think the problem is wm6 bluetooth issue...

If you have a G3 version, make sure your extended ROM is not corrupt. If you have a G4, I don't know what to tell you. I don't have battery issues.

I have a new version ready to go. However, the only computer that I have that can reliably upload the ROM without dropping the connection is in my sleeping, one-year-old's bedroom. Not good. I'll try to get it out in the morning. I think this one is OK. I also think the first release was OK, since I had no issues with BT hands-free, but I won't argue. It's operator independent. But you need to find out if your Wizard is G3 or G4 to CID unlock it and be able to install any ROM. Please search before posting as those questions are already answered in the Wiki. So go to the Wizard Wiki, and read carefully.

What I always do is a two step backup process... Before moving to a new rom, I always take a full backup with a tool like spb backup (change the file name so you know what ROM its for). This gives you a fallback restore point so that if the new rom doesn't work out for you, you can get back to where you where. But DO NOT use this backup to restore onto the new rom!!!
The second step is to use PIM Backup (installed to SD card so I can use it when I get to the new rom) and take a backup with this. This will backup your contacts, appointments, sms, mms, etc and is usable on any rom afterwards.
Also, if any of your apps have customized settings, look to see if they have an export function for this. PocketBreeze has this and its nice for when you get to the new rom, to just run the cab, and then import the settings and you are back where you started ;).
Once I get those two backups then I'll flash to the new rom. After getting onto the new rom, I'll run PIM Backup off my SD card (if its not installed with the rom) and restore all of that.
Also, I keep a folder called Setup Files on my SD card that has various cabs and settings for all of the apps I use. Other than one or two apps, I can can flash a new rom, disconnect from my PC and then setup everything right from my SD card.
As for which WM6? This thread is for the one that is posted in the first link. Give it a whirl as its a very good ROM (and definetly better than the official roms IMO).
You can also check the new Wizard WM6 Wiki for a list of other roms available:

Enjoy!

Doesn't this step mess your ActiveSync profile? When I install a new ROM I delete the old profile and start over with a new one, so data gets sent back from Outlook to the PocketPC. But I fear that repeating this over and over with new ROMs may break syncronization at some point or duplicate data.

Good question... I don't use Outlook, as I use SyncML with a corporate collaboration suite server, so I'm not sure how that impacts Outlook sync on your PC (so in ActiveSync the only thing I have checked in my profile is bookmarks).
