GPSlim Holux 236 couldn't find satellite in France

Last summer when trying to use my GPSlim in southern Montpellier, France it never could lock on the satellites. I am going back this summer and would like to have GPS to use. Any suggestions on why it didn't work? Works fine here in the US.

In my experience and the threads I used to read the GPSlim 236 is notoriously bad at finding satellites after changing geographic locations. I usually remove the battery for a few seconds, reinstall it and then it works.
