Forget it....i've seen this happen on expansys many times before... Happened to me with the 3,5mm adapter; the site says it's in stock (note the remark 8 / 2 days delivery!!!), and a week later this disappears again... Only to have your order, and still having to wait for another 4 weeks!!! :eek:

I'll put my money on the mailback system of PdaShop.nl for a notification of availability... (my guess is that it's still gonna take a week or so). As a dutchman you must know these guys; they're super! :D

Got mine today.
I don't test it with music, but I've tested very quickly the phone functions : when I press the call button, it doesn't seem to be very reactive. But I have to test it longer.

For the design and size, I think it's a good stuff.

Every button works without installing the driver, BUT I'm not glad with the W100 because it manages only Windows Media Player, but not Pocket Player 3 (Conduits) (http://www.conduits.com/products/player/), which I use. How can I change this?

When I try to install the driver from the CDROM, it says I already got the driver.

I got mine yesterday, I have a HTC Touch though, and it seems to work fine using the WMP or the HTC music application. BUT i can't get the thing to work using the HTC Y-Cable..the Y-Cable doesn't recognise it at all, and plays music through the loudspeaker. Trying to install the .CAB files for other models then turns the audio off altogether and I have to Reset the Touch to factory settings.

I'll give it a go when i'm more adventurous. Each time I've tried a different CAB file, my HTC touch then stops producing any audio at all, and the only solution I know of is to to a Hard Reset...

By the way if you are using W100 remote, have you tried to toggle screen
in WM Player?
With mine backlight goes off but it wouldn't toggle screen (toggle screen = turn screen off completely).:confused:
I have also toggled screen with key assigned on the phon, but as soon as
I touch anything on the remote it turn it self on.:(

I use this phone extensively and I need it to last through out the day, if I can turn screen off completely while I am using WM player it would help me to save bit more battery life.

I'm having the exact same problem with the E100 wired remote. Tried on the latest PDAVIET rom and the latest LVMS rom both with and without that cab file installed. Prior to installing the cab file the buttons do nothing at all, after installing the cab file pressing play launched WMP but then nothing happens and the other buttons (forwards/backwards/vol up/vol down) do nothing.

The strange thing is, I plugged this into my friends Artemis/3300 without the driver installed, pressed play and HTC Audio Manager launched and started to play the first song in the list.......

There's something strange going on here for sure. Is it possible for one of our resident uber-chefs to take a look at the Artemis rom to see what is different to our Trinity with regard to these headsets? I've tried playing around with removing dll's and clearing out registry entries but so far only succeded in white-screening my PDA :/

If someone could get to the bottom of this I'm sure there will be a lot of happy people around :D


Edit: Today I've tried this with the "official" WM6 rom downloaded from trinityguides, same problem - doesn't work at all without driver, installing driver cab opens WMP but other buttons don't work. Thought it was worth checking anyway.

Would really appreciate some more help with this.

Dont know what everyones problem is, but I ordered this thing about 2 months ago and its been working a charm ever since, only problem is that it only works on wma but Im not having an issue with that :)

I don't mind the windows player. But if you want it cheaper then the expansys site try it on ebay. Direct price is $30. If you bid $25+$10 (to Holland) it looks much better then the 33 + 10 euro.

After using it for 2 days it seems to work ok. The media player doesn't really start as it should be for the rest it works fine. Sound, forward, back, pause. no problem.

I do not own the w100, but since I'm considering to buy one I read a lot. And I think there might be a solution to your problem, although i don't remember where I got this:
Make sure the "htc audio amplifier" is disabled. The app won't work until there's a headset connected and probably disconnecting the headset before disabling the enhancing leads to the problem you described.

I've a Wired Remote Controller dopod S1 bought to ebay.
Unfortunatelly my Tytn don't recognize this rc-w100... exist a full working driver for TYTN alias Hermes????
I've downloaded the official driver and i extracted and installed "manually" all the singular cab files!!!!
The results is listed above:
all the Remote_controller_Y-cable_Ax files, the Y-cable_B1_070323 and the Y-cable_E1_070323 and don't works and they produces a blank screen after the reset (so i have made an hard reset everytimes!)

Remote_controller_P1_070316.cab and the Y-cable_HERM1_070316.cab don't make any changes and the rc-w100 isn't recognized at all!

Remote_controller_AT1_070316.cab mute all the sound alsoo if i disconnect the RC-W100

Only with Remote_controller_Y-cable_T1_070316.cab the RC-W100 is recognized as a simple headphone

SO DON'T EXIST A FULL WORKING FUC***NG DRIVER!!!????

I only have the driver provided with the remote controller, but it says that drivers is already installed.

I have had the same problem many have stated they have where the remote does not work with the Windows Media Player.

I talked to HTC's support as well as one of their product managers. The solutiuon for me was simple:
turn 'off' the little mute switch on the side of the control block. Mine was on and showed the RED paint. Turned it off and everything works . . . . .

As you mentioned that you are using HTC Audio manager could you tell me how I can bring it in active mode on my phone because only Windows mobile is working even though I followed strictly your instructions?:)
