It’s ridiculous that HTC has put so much effort in enabling the GPS for the Trinity and then decided not to follow through on WM6 and worse yet make it available to older models!! Obviously this decision has not been finalised and petitions like this are key to swaying the directors.

It’s clearly not the case that it can’t be done and limiting functionality to encourage you to purchase the latest unit is not the way to win existing and potential customers’ loyalty. Pull finger HTC!

dont worry, I think HTC will release WM6, at least CHT(Taiwan's provider) will force them upgrade it since P3600 is their top product line now.

I do not understand why HTC does not release WM6 to the best and one of the most expensive PDAs in the market. This is a nonsense.

If HTC wants to become a leader in the PDA market (they are from the technological point of view), they should take care of their current customers. Fidelity is paid only with fidelity. Attention to the customer results in fidelity to the brand.

Based on observations (mine of course) :D , more people use the Trinity than Hermes. :) So HTC really should not abandon and disadvantage it's Trinity users.

But as pointed out, it appears that only the GPS xda's with sifr III GPS are being upgraded, so there mnay be other reasons.

first time poster here. my apologies if this is not the appropriate thread for my post. i just wanted to share the info i got from dopod here in australia regarding WM6 for the D810 (aka htc p3600). so if we get it then i guess you get it for the htc p3600 also. it's the same unit afterall and just rebranded.

reply from dopod rep reads (btw i've removed some unimportant stuff) ...

Hi Brandon,

Currently we have not finalized the GPS ROM code for Australia. We are waiting to get the type approval from the Mobile Operators. Once we have the ROM code approved, then only we will release it to the market. I am guessing it is about 2 months away. The new ROM code will include a free upgrade to the WM6 operating system. We will keep you posted. Please feel free to check the Dopod AU website at a later date.
Please note – this ROM code has been released in other countries because their testing and approval criteria are not as strict when compared to Australia. Once we get the approval, we will post it on our website.

The FM radio for D810 is a rumor. There is no FM radio function on the D810.
