Unlocking Exec

Hi,
i have just transferred from an XDA mini S to an XDA Exec.
Before i flash with a new rom, doe4s it have to be CID unlocked like the Wizard does? and is there any way of SIM unlocking the Exec by flashing it?

Right, I have the unlock tool, but do i need to CID unlock the unit before I flash a new rom onto it, or can I just flash the rom straight away?
Also, do I need an A2DP patch to allow me to use HT820 headset for listening to audio?
These are things I had to do on my Wizard, but without knowing the Universal too well, I thought I had better check so as not to brick it!!!

If it's an O2 XDA Exec, then it's unlocked, but think the others are all locked.
