ive had WM6 for about a week or so and i have noticed a few bugs but this volume strip one really bugs me. i recently put the jogbar app on my dash and it worked fine with WM6 beta but just recently my volume strip stopped working altogether. ive reset everything and i even deleted the jogbar program to no avail. any suggestions? maybe there is something in the registry that got messed up

That happened to me once when using the application. I just edit the registry now. I recommend you go to the Volume strip in the Settings and set it to default. If that does not work, ClearStorage (which will wip your device entirely) You will loose data so backup your information and apps before you do so.

I did all of that too, and it still didnt do anything, i even manually edited the registry and it still didn't do anything.

Is this a bad thing?

That thing was as useless anyways. I turned mine off the 2nd day of owning this gem. IMHO, I believe the touch strip is a gimmick. Stick with the scroll wheel. Don't fix what isn't broken.

Well unlike most people that have a dash, i actually liked the thing because i knew how to use it, and now that its not working, i can barely hear people on the phone because the volume isn't loud enough.

I don't understand how the touch strip would take any kind of skill in using it. You touch it and it is supposed to behave a certain way. Obviously, that was not the case for most users, such as myself.

It's either a love or hate relationship with the touch strip. Mine stopped working and it was different trying to navigate. But i got it back and i'm good.

Thats what I thought too, you actually have to rub your thumb from top to bottom or bottom to top as if it were an actual scroll wheel. I felt stupid after complaining about it, but thats all it is.

Hey, you're lucky. I had to disable mine. That volume strip is probably the worst implemented "feature" I've seen on a smartphone yet. Thanks HTC!

It's fine for in-call volume -- and tapping it during an incoming call was the only way to mute the ringer without forwarding to voicemail -- that doesn't work anymore. Does anyone know if there's a way in the WM6-Dash to mute an incoming call?
