Hello,
is there a way to use the VoIP WM6 embedded client with this smartphone? It seems that WM6 Standard (smartphone edition) does not come with VoIP support default. Does anyone know of a way to install VoIP client that comes with the PDA-version of WM6 (WM6 Professional)?
Thanks a lot, an answer would save me a lot of troubles,
Ionut

have you tried to copy the relevant files?
which are mentioned int thread: {SOLVED} How to configure VoIP/SIP client in WM6.
in the \Windows directory:
*
* ipdialplan.xml
* dnsapi.dll
* voipphonecanvas.dll
* rtcdll.dll
or checked the registry, for any voip relevant entries,
maybe you only will have to set a registry and than it might work (e.g. like the gps component)
but i dont have a vox yet, im only guessing.
I think that vox doesnt support voip doesnt mean wm 6 standard doesnt support voip, it may mean that htc did not include the voip component.
other wm 6 standard smartphones might have it in the future.

its a posting related to the ppc version (since wm6 its called professional), i read that it should work properly even with a 200mhz wizard
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950
it shouldn't have been removed from the standard (smartphone version)

Some info on this:
I have used the WM6VoIP.cab posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303558 - post nr. 2, and although at the beginning it looked like nothing happened, after changing the Home default view (start/settings/home screen) to something else (not sure what i did and dont have the VOX anymore), Internet Calling appeared as a plugin.
Hope this helps anybody...

forgot to mention that I setup the VoIP settings and used it and it works flawlessly. The only problem is that the sound goes in the back and not the earpiece, but this is smth that we should still investigate.

I've added some instructions to the VOX wiki. Maybe some find it usefull and could expand it regarding the IPDialplan.xml (A non VOX but WM6 specific topic on that would sure be helpful).

Not sure yet and I am in desperate need of a solution. I will try to find out some more reading other threads about the VoIP settings here at xdadev. In case any of you finds a way to make the sound go in the front earpiece for this type of smartphone, pls email me at ionutz (at) pdamobile.ro.
Thanks a bunch!

Hi there.
Although the phone somehow registers to the VOIP service, I always get a "Network Error" when I try to place a call.
Could be provider dependant, maybe with some others it works...
Anyhow, just to let me understant, would you mind posting the name of your provider (or PM it to me if against the rules) so that I check with them?
Other thing, your today plugin stays as well on "Searching", right?
Thanks,
Ka.

Hi,
Regarding the the sound coming out of the back of the phone instead of the front, it is also happening to me with Skype so that may indicate it is something to do with the way the handset is setup by default and not the SIP add-in, maybe a registry setting.
