Thanks for the updated version. Is there "pinyin" input method apart from "zhuyin"? Thanks.

Hi storm99,

I'm planning to add pinyin input for the next release (forgot to add in this version), I'm still looking for a good free pinyin SIP, please let me know any of your preferred pinyin SIP.

otherwise, I may use the WM6 built-in SIP dumped from a CHS version.

in the mean time, i would recommend you to visit bbs.pdafans.com for a cab file or download their CHS version : )

regards,

RickyLan

It doesnt come with any jap input, only support jap view for now. the next release I will add jap input, it would be great if you can recommend me any free jap input so I can put it in.

[[ Cold ]]:
No problem :)... It's based on the WM6 test rom, which is same as the latest LVSW and Black version.

prucat:
I will have a look later as currently I do not have a BT headset to test, I will let you know as soon as I figure it out.

Suggest to use PlumSIP5 as it works great and also support for the hardware keyboard.

Gosh the file sharing link the poster posted is probably one of the worst ones i've seen in a long long long time!

I have been using it for few days and it runs smoothly on my x01ht. Yet i would like to have the following improvements in your next release:

1) Add VoIP.cap
2) Include a PinYin SIP which could pop out traditional chinese rather than simplified chinese.
3) Unhide the uninstall options for all built-in apps

Looking forward for your next release!!

Hi Ricky,

Very nice piece of work! Pls continue with new built ROM!!!

I honestly think that the Monster Chinese SIP is the most stable one....

I have been trying other WM6 roms and don't seem to work with CE-Star and cause freezes.

This is very nice to have chinese input integrated into the WWE Rom, this is exactly what i need!! Thanks very much for your work.

Hi Ricky

Are you planning to upgrade your release with the newest OS-Kernel? (Build: 17743.0.2.3.)?

Thanks!

I was using CURTEL v1.3 but switched to your rom and its awsome but I have some suggestions that would really make this great :

OS build: 5.2.1238 (17743.0.2.3)

Ability to have an Chinese only input (to minimize ram if not using CHS CHT and JPN)

pinyin typing onscreen and via the keyboard

pocketxpdf 0.5 not acrobat

cyberon voice commander or cyberon voicedial with bilingual chinese and english support or just english I guess :)

SIP addon integrated

Essentially everything you've done plus the best of all the worlds here:

Hi all,

thanks for all the suggestions, they are very helpful.

I'm managing to use Black Pro v3 as the base to create the next version, I believe it is better as I dont have to do the same tweaks or patches again. I'll try my best to have it done as soon as possible :)

the reason for not using PlumSIP & MonsterSIP is because they are not free :(
(I'm trying not to break the law.... oh well..)

lichung:
I'm not sure if I can do pinyin in TC or not, I dont think we can have both TC/SC pinyin at the same time (i would love to), I'll try to figure out a way (maybe a patch to switch TC/SC?)... btw, does the HK rom come with TC pinyin?

neomuzic:
I'm not sure if english version of voice commander can recoganise chinese contact or not..... if it does, I'll use eng version, otherwise I'll stick with chinese version for better compatibility. :)

as for the input, I think I will have the following:
Phonetic, ChaJei, PinYin (both TC and SC if possible), and JPN SIP from an JPN rom.
(btw, does the SIP in asukal's package support H/W keyboard?)

I'll try to find a patch to switch between TC/SC pinyin (not guarantee)

I will also put in SIP change tool so everyone can disable/enable the input they want to use, and a list of files to delete if you want to delete a certain SIP, how's that sound? :)

Before I get too far... give me more advice or we may have to wait for next release

regards,

RickyLan

Hi Ricky,

Rgds,

Hi skypirate,

as far as I know, it is due to the registry:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload]
@="e0010404"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload\2]
@="e0020404"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\keyboard layout\Preload\1]
@="e0010404"

I need the codes above in order to enable some of the chinese SIPs, I will test the auto complete thing again anyway, not sure if I can get it to work or not :(

Nice pick on Black Pro v3 (there is a v3.0.1 btw.. thanks JasJamming btw)! I was really tempted to switch to Black Pro, but now that you will be basing your ROM on it, it really will be the "Best of both worlds" ROM for us Chinese users!

Just a comment on voice commander. Do you think it's possible to NOT integrate it into the ROM? I personally use MS Voice Command. If it HAVE to be in the ROM, would it be possible to make it uninstallable?

Great plan for the SIP btw.. a SIP enable/disable utility is godsend.

Sort of off topic, but does anyone know if it is possible to just install the SIP portion of CE-Star? It have cantonese pin-yin with keyboard support.. but the chinese displaying portion is just so damn unstable..

From the post in MML, you can disable it by removing VMTopBar.lnk from \Windows\Startup.

Don't want to sound like a nagger... I'm not sure if Black Pro v3.0.1 already included this version, but there is a v1.5 of Task Manager released...

It would be great if it's included in your most fabulous ROM :-D

Thanks for your work Ricky.

I'm using Asukal's package and yes, it does support H/W keyboard (I've got the Softbank X01HT with Japanese keyboard).

If you can take out any Chinese specific programs like voice commander etc. and make them available as cabs instead of bundling them would be good, as I only want Japanese or English. Any Chinese specific stuff will just be a waste of space for me. The SIP tool sounds like a very good idea, thankyou.

PM me if you need any help testing stuff on the X01HT.

by the way, would you mind extracting the Chinese input (those cheng jei) and Chinese Handwriting out and the corresponding registry ?

Thank you so much again

I find your Rom can have louder incall volume then other WM6 Rom. Is that you do some registry hack or anything to make it work.

Sure, I'll put it in : )

elklau:
Thanks for the reply, but I found out that if you are using the stock SIPs (not written by 3rd party), those reg keys are required. I'll leave all the reg keys anyway, so everyone can use their own SIPs or just use the SIPs that comes with. : )

hamster0914:
No problem, I have extract the SIP from the Sakura ROM, so it will use the M$ IME instead. I think I will not include any of the chinese specific software this time (I dont use that VC function anyway :p ).

asker:
Sure, I attached the files I found from mobile01, for all the Traditional Chinese SIPs and their corresponding reg keys... but for the handwriting, I have to have a look the reg keys again as the files does not have proper full screen HW reg keys. I'll give it to u later... :)

prucat:
Hi, is there any free 簡易 SIPs around? (not monster/ce-star/plumsip plz :p), I can put it in if you can find the SIP... :)

Not sure to be honest..... I can't remember what tweak I have done on that ROM -__-

I'm using this SIP... on english ROM. Will this work on the Chinese rom? Or the ones included in the Chinese ROM is better already? I'm interested to know.

Ricky,

What tools did you use to create this? I'm thinking of having a go myself, specifically for Japanese and using the latest Black Shadow.

I've been using just the language support hacks to get it going, but it always seems to make the OS unstable.

Any tips?

Hi, I was trying to make a Korean Rom for Hermes for quite some time... can you share your sorce for making one and how to? This is what I've tried till now and the qusetions I have...

The Question:
1. How do I install and change the default font of the ROM?
2. How to change the dictionary in your language, settings for your language, t9 dictionary for your language, keyboard layout?

Here is the tutorial I've found: (originaly written by a member of XDA-Developers: Tna)

Step 1
(a)Download your language emulator (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=38c46aa8-1dd7-426f-a913-4f370a65a582&DisplayLang=en#filelist)Files from
(b) install the downloaded file
(c)Take the emulator image that you want from the installation folder.
For example, if you have downloaded the images for Korean language look in the folder "C:\Program Files\Windows Mobile 6 SDK\PocketPC\Deviceemulation\0412":
The image for Hermes is: PPC_KOR_GSM_VR.BIN
(d) extract the emulator files in a new folder.
to extract files from the emulation rom follow this direction:
- Download Tadzio's imgfs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298327)
- Unzip the tools along with the emulator image(PPC_KOR_GSM_VR.BIN) in any folder.
- Rename the image to A.BIN (to make the next commands easier to type).
- Open a D.O.S. command window and perform these commands:
Code:
> NBSPLIT -emu A.BIN
(it generates two files: A.BIN.EXTRA and A.BIN.PAYLOAD)
> IMGFSFROMNB A.BIN.PAYLOAD IMGFS.BIN
(it generates the file IMGFS.BIN)
> IMGFSTODUMP IMGFS.BIN
(Now the extracted files are dumped in /Dump directory)
(e) Rename ALL the 4xx files to 412 (e.g. 0412.mui -> 0.409.mui) Apply this to all files and folders (an eyasier way to do that is to search from windows for all *412* files and then rename them)

Step 2
Find your BASE ROM. (e.g. Hermes Black Rom)

Step 3
Download your Kitchen. (e.g. Anichullus Core Professional Kitchen)

Step 4
Dump the BASE ROM (If you use Anichullus Kitchen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309701), follow the manual but Stop BEFORE using Bepe's Package TOOL)

Step 5
Go to DUMP folder (e.g. C:\core\extract\dump) and paste ALL the language files you have
renamed from step 1e. ATTENTION you have to copy and paste ALL files from your
language folder AFTER you have renamed them to 409 . REPLACE duplicate files

Step 6
Continue with kitchen steps . For instance if you were to use Bepe's Package TOOL , go on and build the packages.

Step 7
Edit Initflashes.dat file . Information on how to do that are in every cooking tutorial. In
Intflashes.dat file you will have to translate all the links and directories according to your
language files. CAUTION if you make mistakes in translation your WM6 will be crappy and
programs may not start
->In order to make a good translation check your original rom, or try the WM6 emulator with your language files and check the directory names.

Step 8
Save Initflashes.dat in unicode and remove first two bytes with a hex editor

Step 9
Choose your OEM packages.
about keyboard, you must add with a oem package also:
- dictionary in your language
- settings for your language
- t9 dictionary for your language
- for keyboard layout make this registry mod:
Code:
Registry Editor:
HKCU >> ControlPanel >> Keybd
Create a string "Locale" with "0412" vale. Everything without "Where 0412 is your country value.

Step 10
build your rom according to your kitchen manual
