LCD screen replacements referred to by generation?

Ive seen the wiki and searched but cant find any info as to where the screens are called by generation. On ebay theres a generation 2 screen for xda iis, I asked them which type it is but have recived no answer.

Does anyone here now if the gen 2 is the same as the sony ACX502BMV ?
