How do I change the brandingBrick.gif image

I want to get rid of the T-moble branding of my phone and have found a number of files for in in windows that are set as read only so I can't overwrite the files with images of my choice. Is there a tool I need to use to do this? I am running WM6.

I tried the search feature but nothing was real clear on it.
