View Full Version : Need Tmobile WM5 Rom

So I upgraded to WM6 and it works great, would love to keep it. But there is no support for the mac at all. Can't sync, can't link to it, nothing.

Have to downgrade back to WM5 till everyone catches up.

Anyone have the link to the old Rom?

There is the HTC S620 ROM floating around, but I haven't seen the "official" T-Mobile WM 5 ROM posted, and I've looked quite a bit.

To use the S620 ROM you need to SID and CIM unlock the phone, and then you can fall back.

Perfect!!!!!

Will install this ASAP and get all the info synced back onto my Dash.

Too bad there aren't more clients for Macs!

Errors out with communication problem every time... But I had my hopes up!

It downloads fine for me... just double checked again... you got something goig on... a matter of fact for their free "limited bandwidth" connection it downloads rather fast

Found a thread on here saying the old Rom doesn't work with Vista. I am indeed running vista. Won't have access to an XP machine until at least sun/mon, that is a long time to go without a majority of my contact/calendar info..

My own fault though :\

Yeah, wouldn't work for me. It's like as soon as it's done syncing it makes it look like it's only a storage device or something, I can look, copy, edit, paste, etc. but whenever I try the rom it doesn't work. Had to go to an XP.

Worked like a charm for me. I tried it with vista for almost two days. Figured I would just try it to see if it would do anything and worked trhe first time.

Does anyone know if this ROM is the one that includes myFaves support? If not, I'll stick with WM6 and lump it until the Mac support catches up.

EDIT: I just installed it... it's the one with myFaves support.. I'm good to go. Thanks!

I get the same error message reverting the VM5 (ERROR 260). I tried it on XP Home and Window 2000 box. I even tried it using the ActiveSynch version that shipped with Dash. All no worky. Anyone have any ideas

Well I finally got the Dash VM5 ROM to load via my XP machine. Only thing I did different was to run the AppUnlock application from mobile.surrealnetworks.com. First time I ran the ROM Updater for VM5 I got the same error message. The update went so far as to give me that 3 color screen showing ROM versions or something (on the DASH). I restarted the ROM Updater with that screen still on and it loaded fine. Know that I think about it, I am not sure if in the past I restarted the updater with the 3 color screen on the Dash, or if I rebooted the Dash 1st. Not sure if the AppUnlock is necessary or not.
