Hi,

I use Orb a lot to watch live TV on my Dash and it has worked great with wm5 but after the upgrade to the "official" wm6 now the video (live TV and other videos) shows rotated 90 degrees (to the left). This only happens with Orb.

Does anybody has this issue? I checked the registry for an option to rotate the screen but I couldn't find it.

Hi,

have you tried this tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1234679&postcount=4) to rotate the screen ?
Don't know if it works, but on the VOX you can turn the screen 90° - 180° - 270° ...

I tried that on my Dash and it doesn't work (doesn't rotate the screen). It's weird Orb used to work fine with wm5 (wmp).

Hi,
what version of wm6 do you have installed?

maybe you have wm6 professional? (e.g. "pocket pc", hermes, ... version)?

I have the leaked "official" version for T-Mobile Dash (Smartphone):

Windows Mobile 6 Standard
CE OS 5.2.1236 (Build 17741.0.2.1)
Radio: 4.1.13.34_02.79.90
RIL:2.002

well,
does the tool work at all or does it not help you rotate when you watch a film in fullscreen mode.
Im asking because i could imagine that media player is setting the rotation angle back.

what happens when you start the tool?

It is not just an Orb issue - it is a Media Player issue.

I just tried surfing over to the WindowsMedia Mobile site. they have a link there for SmartVideo to watch live TV. I tried the demo stream, and switching to full screen rotates the picture 90 degrees, and fills the width of the screen.

Presumably there is a bad or missing registry setting that controls whether it does this or not based on whether the device has a portrait or landscape screen.

The tool doesn't work with wm6. It does nothing when you execute it.

Yes, I'm having the rotated fullscreen issue with windows media player mobile after I installed Windows Mobile 6. I've seen other people elsewhere mention the same issue.

Someone HF was able to fix TCPMP to work with Orb and other streaming sites just copying 2 library files (wmadecoder.dll and wmvdecoder.dll) to the phone's \windows directory.

I tried it with Orb and Windows Media Mobile site and it works fine, but it doesn't solve the wmp issue.

You can use TCPMP until MS/T-Mobile fix wmp.

getwsted at HF found a solution for the screen rotation issue:

Add the following Key "Rotation" under HKLM\System\GDI\

e.g. [HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation]

Then Add this dword.
"LandscapeMode"=0

It solved my problem with Orb and other Videos with WMP in full screen mode.

Is there a way to stop WMP going out of full screen mode everytime the buffer becomes exhausted and playback pauses? Thats much more annoying than the screen being 180 degrees out!

HKLM = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE is a registry key. You need a registry editor to modify that key.

Call me stupid, but I'm using TotalCommander and can't figure out how to get this done. Do i Add Value for "Rotation" or make a directory for "Rotation"?
