GPRS on + WLM on + Exchange Server / Pushmail on + 100% battery
After 1 night .... my device hangs, I had to use the stylus to reset and the battery is after a reboot 10%.
Windows Live has been taken from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308931

Any suggestions?

My problem with freeze up in standby disappeared completely after I disabled all background GRPS data transfers such as mail checking, WLM, RSS poll, etc. Tested for about 2 weeks - no wake up problem anymore. Looks like this GPRS activity in standby caused trinity to hang up and not wake up after standby.

I think its better now then before...
However before a gprs connection I have about 100mA. After disconnection of the gprs it still has 130-140mA.
So the battery draining seems to be still more then before a gprs connection...

What current draws should we be getting?

I just installed the battery cad and im always getting on avg around 70-100 mA. I noticed before some of you guys quoted in the 20's....I've checked all my programs are off, wifi bluetooth and data connection off and its still around that level?

I'm running spb shell if that makes a difference

I think it depends strongly on your backlight setting....
I always test with 80% backlight.

I did have those issues with SE but after fully discharging battery twice and flashing TE, those issues are gone. Battery is a little longer than with official WM5 (about 3 days with normal use where with SE it was about 1,5 day). I charged on tuesday morning and battery is now about 60%.

I don't think it matters but i'm still with radio 1.38... and I almost never use 3G/HCDSPA data connection (always Wifi)

mun this Rom works perfect for me, thanks. ;)

I'm willing to start learning of "rom-compounding", and I can't find a post where I can learn about attaching software & cappabilities to an existing rom. Does any of you know about some info in building roms?

My battery life has been good with the LVSW 2.0.1.1 with Mun's powersave cab and the machine is excellent. I went to bed last night at 11pm without any data connection. The batt. status was 100% and it was the same when I got up at 5:30 AM. I then started EDGE and set my email account to sync every 60 min. had a bath and left for work. On leaving my home I started Coreplayer and listened music, via the wired earphones, for the rest of my commute to work, which is roughly 1hr and 10 min. Right now it's at 90%. The only prob I have right now is a random deadspot I get while listening over bluetooth.

We are doing quite well so let's keep testing.

Over 3G there are 2 main problems using Wm6 VOIP over 3G internet

1. When people dial me my phone doesnt ring. Incoming calls do not ring to voip. They ring when using WIFI but not when using 3G

2. We cannot hear other person talking most times. We hear loud static noise on back speaker (speakerphone). I can get this working by using a wired headset only, same thing happens (static noise) when using bluetooth headset.

I have also tried other SIP clients like agephone. And I have this exact same issues! So this is unique to Trinity and Windows mobile 6 because my old phone, a Sprint PPC 6700, I could use agephone, and it received calls and i could hear both parties over 3g!

There is some type of bug with trinity audio routing when using VOIP and with the network drivers or something when receiving calls.

I tried to update to lvsw 2.0.1.1, too No error messages. But after reboot I still have Version mUn_201.Te on my Phone, too.

What can I do? Any ideas, how I can change the version.

Actually, I had to disable that function to get it going.

This is my procedure: After the rom flashing, disable the Advanced Network Functionality, then connect your device and go to Device Manager. There you update your HTC Sync driver to the latest version again (6.xxx) and you'll get your Sync Center or Windows Mobile Device Center popping up with the new device.
Whenever you want to flash a new rom again, go to device manager and select the old HTC Sync 1.x driver and put your Trinity in bootloader mode manually.

Maybe they request to give him attention that they love him so much :)
But I do agree that it's volunteer work here .... not a dedicated hard business. I think we all read that there were exams etc. too ..... in my opinion those are more important than an update ....
The other side is that the TE ROM has been tested now for a longer time, that's not bad at all ...

Hello.

Where exactly is.... "advanced network functionality" in Settings-Connections-USB to PC?

Using RNDIS over USB instead of simulate the USB as COM-port.
So ... when you check it, it's faster.
BUT when you use it with Vista, WMDC and WMP make sure you've downloaded the updates, because else your storage card will disappear in the Windows Media Player.

Gheghe, I can't wait either :D. If i'd had the time I would cook my own Rom in dutch. But the misses is complaining I spent to much time with my Trinity already.

I've seen it working on the Elf but there it was not so bad actually. Bit buggy when I saw it, but back then it was still a testsample. But this ported one really sucks. I also went back to Mobile Shell. But if a stable version of the homeplug comes out I'd like to try it!

Yeah there are some good open source freeware recovery programmes, If I remember the name I'll post it. I had a failure recently and recovered every single file eventually (takes a while). But many of my mp3s would start as one song then transition into another midway through.

...and that really is a shit! For anyone that has had a hard disk failure - we know the pain...and sympathise entirely.

A lot of good will around speaking about recover programs, but in the case of a hard disk failure I don't know of any software alone that can recover data (if the hard disk fails recovery software can't repair it - it can only recover deleted information or a reformatted HDD). If it's a system failure (windows died) I'm sure someone with mUn's skills would have thought of and is equipped with that sort of software. However mechanical HDD failure....

What we need to find for mUn is someone with a lab or someone who works for a professional data recovery company who can dismantle the HDD platters and recover the data using specialist tools.

anyone?

It's probably not possible to add a gps-button to the commmanager (so it wouldn't take long after starting TomTom to get the fix)?

Another idea: a full version that includes Mobile RAR of rarlabs (or something else that can opemn zips and rars), windows live, Opera for windows mobile, maybe even TomTom so you don't have to reinstall the whole thing, but just need to insert your sdcard with the maps, pocketmechanic,... If you want a serial or something for these programs, don't bother to ask me.

This is just an idea which can be improved or dismissed...

- Wish it is as stable as bepe's ROM ...
- has the same features ... except the buggy version of WLM :(, no Acrobat Reader LE
- incl. Voice Command, Task Manager 1.51, Windows Update, stable WLM, Audio Manager (nice ringtone feautures), HTC Camera, Java, Streaming Media and HTC Zip
if one has been left out we should provide a cab.
- a list with other cabs (incl. download site, port 80) as extra cabs like Voice Dial, Acrobat Reader, TodayAgenda, BatteryStatus, Flash, etc.

A good ROM is a clean as possible ROM. Too clean makes it buggy too.

No illegal stuff .... it's on the edge already.

There are scripts to automate install of cab's, but we can make it more easy to choose and search with supplying the right links to the latest HTC Trinity tested (!) cab's.
WinRAR, Opera, TomTom, etc. are too personal .... but a link to the legal stuff rulez.

I thought it would be okay since there is a thread with rapidsharelinks of tomtom, maps,... and because spreading this roms is anyhow illegal. Besides, TomTom is standardly installed on a gps-pda and I think there aren't many better alternatives of Opera and Winrar. Audio manager would also be too personal in your point of view. And I repeat: different rom versions(clean/medium/full).
Thanks anyway for your reaction, I just hope someone agrees with me :)

A special section for legal links would be a nice idea too, there was a site (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305554) with roms, software,.. but unfortunately it's offline.
It would be something like Mun's cabs thread but then on the trinity-wiki or something, just to improve xda-developers. Everyone could add programs and description and with the experience of the members of this forum, there will be nice and rare programs added. Many "beginners"/experienced users will be happy and a lot of questions will be automatically solved.
But I think I'm going offtopic.. :)

Nevermind. I see that they have removed the thread with rapidsharelinks of Tomtom. Funny, I sad in that thread that it wasn't a good idea to provide such links on this forum because many forums with that kind of links go offline daily by "the internet police" and now I'm promoting it.

So WM6 cooked roms are legal? I doubt it, there has been no licence paid to microsoft for anyone that has upgraded from WM5 to WM6. its just teh vast majority want WM6 before anything else. they accept WM6 is legal and never think of it a illegal when tbh it is illegal.

I don't actually know wht dialer skin should i include. New 3g skin (touch style) is very cool and has battery meter in progress mode and dialer (found that it's very usefull). But it doesn't allow to make video calls..
I don't use video calls, so that problem is not critical for me. But have to make other version of dialer (probably with less functionality) that supports video calls.

As for MMS: Probably I'll include 2 cabs in extrom. So everybody will chose wht version to setup (4.0 or 3_5_1_24C_R1)

I'll make lite version also.

I'll make lite version also.

powersave cab changes reg entries for powermanagment

That sounds FANTASTIC!

I know that spreading these roms (even the wm5 roms) is illegal, that's why they aren't on xda ftp anymore but on rapidshare. But what I meant was that you make a real warez forum of xda if you publish links to illegal material like Tomtom,..

mun_rus said this: It fixes 2 files cespell.dll and msgstore.dll + fix one note.

It's my understanding that cespell.dll has to do with the Word app, specifically the dictionary contained within.

msgstore.dll has to do with Inbox account creation & Messaging client controls. MS is always messing with this.

OneNote fix is well known to save or delete files properly within that app.

I donated 5,40 euros a few hours ago.

That's 15,40 :)

Audio Manager is personal too, I agree.

3 versions of a ROM is 3 versions to maintain ... to use the ROM cooker optimal for the ROM itselves, we shouldn't ask him/her to maintain that many ROM's. It's not a day job .... it's not an OS with versions like Vista.
We should ask a clean ROM and make together a set of utils for a medium or full ROM.
Now there is not 1 ROM cook, but 4 (English) so that would be 12 ROM's with all their bugs, etc .... That will make a mess here in this forum.
I agree that theads disappear, become poluted, etc. so that there is need for a clean "legal" download site/wiki. We can't spread SPB software, TomTom, etc. etc. but we can provide legal downloads or links to legal downloads.

Hi mun_rus,

I enjoyed your WM6 SE ROM very much. I also could receive Video MMS. Since I upgraded from SE to TE the Vodafone Germany Network just sends me an SMS telling me that my device is not capable of showing the content (.3gp files) of the MMS which is wrong. This happens all the time if I receive a Video MMS (Picture MMS work!). I think they look for the IMEI and cannot recognise the Trinity (they have it branded as a "Vodafone compact GPS"). It worked on SE... did the update change the IMEI? What other reasons could be the problem?

I have a 8 month old son.... I NEED Video MMS!!!:)

I know I am on legacy SE... yet I found it so good that do not see need to upgrade ;) .
Let me take the opportunity to share with you couple of issue I experienced in the last month with the SE rom:
1) Messaging section disappear: at some point in time the messaging section disappeared. No way to get it back, even with soft reset. Was forced to reflash, worth noticing that after a full system restore the section would disappear again. Could not find a solution in the forum. This happened ONCE.
2) Bluetooth does not kick in: after tapping the BT icon in COmmmgr the BT does not kick in. This happen quite often, fixable via a Soft reset.

Other than that cannot see any incovenience with the SE ROM that would force me to ugrade to a different one!

Ciao and congratulations for your amazing work!

HI,
does the m700 have an internal gps chipset?

i have unlocked the sim & cid, upgraded to mUn 2.01.TE rom with 1.41.00.11 radio.
but in my connections tab there is only a 'external gps' icon. this says to me there is no internal chipset on this device?

so the only way to use gps is by either an external receiver or internet. not through the m700 itself.

can anyone please confirm this for me as i have been flashing my pda all weekend trying to get this function to work.

boy do i need help

nealed
25th June 2007, 05:58 PM
Don't be put off by the fact that it says External GPS - the settings are for the internal one. btw - best not to change anything here anyway.

However, you'll need software, like TOMTOM (check out HTC's website for a copy - including one free CITY Map). If you install 6.0.3 from the HTC website, it takes 2-3 minutes to get your first fix, but the internal GPS will be detected and selected by TOMTOM automatically.

Download or buy a map, start up TOMTOM and away you go.

There are, of course other SATNAV sofwares that will work, but to get you going this will do the trick.

once it works, you will kick yourself for spending so much time flashing your m700!:D

You're not nice against a donator ..... I believe this should be a nice communicty.

If you read the text right it says "External GPS". I can understand that a noob is confused. MS should name it "GPS" ....

@mjm383
Internal GPS is on COM9
With for example the camera or Google Earth, you don't have to configure a thing .... but be with the device in open air and patience .. (2 min. for a first fix)
With TomTom 6.03 you can point the program to use the internal GPS.

Sorry about sounding really harsh initially, but
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Trinity

Internal GPSone Chip from Qualcomm, supports Standalone GPS and A-GPS

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311573

etc

Anyways, the best programs imo to test GPS are (all links are trial versions):
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=16855 (last page, doesn't show satellites tho)

http://www.gpstuner.com/ (shows satellites, amazing UI, but a real memory hog)

For free full program, try using

http://aeguerre.free.fr/Public/PocketPC/NoniGPSPlot/ (free, small, shows satellites)

You can't actually connect to GPS satellites with the standard ROM as it is. So like I said before, you probably don't think it's got GPS cos you haven't tried connecting with it.

Of course - it's us guys that there is something wrong with. If you maybe take a step back and say - gee - three people are shooting me down when I say something - maybe what I said was misinterpreted? but no - it's the other guys. "I bet you didn't even...". How about "If you try to ..." see the difference - and it doesn't cost more in fact you type about 8 characters less. it's called courtesy -

The question was asked nicely by someone who had obviously been trying for a long time. If people didn't open threads to ask dumb questions the forum would be cleaner and easier to find the info that we want. The driver thing is something waht happens with Windows XP / ActiveSync too. Reinstalling WMDC does help, if you've using version .. consider upgrading to 6.1
Check the setting on the phone, the USB to PC should be on Advanced (checked).
In WMDC you should check that USB is there on too.

After you've reinstalled the WMDC ... to fash a ROM you need to P3600 in the bootloader (voice dail + camera button + soft reset, I believe) and update the driver again with those of ActiveSync 4.5. The file is called VistaRUU.zip

I doubt it's the hardware ... I had this with several ROM's and huge load on the phone itselves (syncing Windows Media items for example or 500 calendar items). The first thing a heavy loaded device disconnect is the USB :(

I checked the setting in windows mobile device centre and activesync on the trinity but no luck. I cant even replace or reinstall the ROM now!
Urgent help required....

Thanx,
Ak

Im more wondering if Indigo will see the light of day and get released.

I'm all for letting the Chefs do their thing, but this has been a while now since mentioned (obviously HDD issues aside) just hope we get to play with it soon'ish...

Im tempted to try AX3L's rom... :p

To quote mUn:
for indigo...
I hope that it will be released to end of june... need to change a lot of thing again:(

So if mUn's hopes will be realised we've only got a few more days wait. I'm all for trying out as many ROMs as possible - go try AX3L's ROM - you really should try them all:)

Hi

I have never posted before, but wolfyy coments are so stupid I just had to say something.

nealed is so right in what he says. over the last 3 weeks, I have tried about 12 different ROMs, each tailored to each cookers own preferences, some I have liked some I have not. mUn roms are great and I too can not wait for his next version, but I will still try others. At the moment I do use AX3L's 2.0.7 as it is faster than TE because he has released several roms while he plays with the cache. Where as i guess mUn is tweaking offline, each have different methods

Yes this thread is for the mUn rom, but don't you dare discourage others from trying others while we wait for his new rom. Grow up. XDA-Developers is all about tweaking and trying stuff out...

If you are going to use sites like this for god sake understand what the site is about!!

When I was young I sprayed some foam cleaner on my legos and it caused them to crack and break. I guess something in the cleaner ate the plastic.. it really sucked! But anyway I can't wait for the new mUn Rom.. and if you are wondering I had to throw out all my legos they were all ruined.

Well, now that you just got shut down on your first post I suggest you read my in my thread my personal blog about nOOBs like you! GO FIND A "NOOB" FORUM AND EXPRESS YOUR NEWBIENESS! Long live MM!

Hmm - doesn't really inspire to go look at "my in your thread your personal blog" - and I just love the fact that someone with 7 posts under their belt is going on about nOOBs:D

Umm tech_junkie are you sure he's mentally old enough to play with lego. isn't there some warning about small children and swallowing lego? TBH from the posts I'm not even sure Duplo isn't a little advanced.

Where?!?!

My TE installation also has a Programs entry for Internet Sharing- & I've not added it myself. Maybe in Mun's 'SP1' cab file?

OK, so obviously I've done something stooopid. Just reflashed back to TE and have got Internet Sharing all fine and dandy.

Seriously though, glad its sorted. Sometimes the initial ROM flash doesn't fully install, so maybe that's why it was missing.

How do you read "like" 124 pages. You eaither read 124 pages or not not "like" 124 pages. There are threads to "like" a French rom.

Is this an English language game forum???

Just a nice answer was enough:
"No, mUn has made his 2.01 TE in English only"

Agree.

He doesn't understand the community thing. There is not only a good one and a bad one. All the ROM's have something specific and all chefs communicate about in a different way. Some you like, some you don't ...... but RESPECT FOR ALL USERS / CHEFS is the most important else it will become a fight scene and that will destroy this forum.

It seems people in here is getting quite nervous with incoming INDIGO. Please, notice that new features have shown up recently and sure mUn's searching for a way of including them in his spectacular rom. So it might take quite a long time to see them in our devices.

So let's leave him do his altruist job freely. Our patience is going to have quite a pretty good reflection in our ROMs.

One thing I beg is that whenever mUn decides to raise INDIGO it begins a new post. This is quite big right now. ;)

Mun you're #1. As your greatest fan remember when you signed my p3600?

Well that meant the world to me and I'm sure alot of people are jealous and

have negative thoughts about me and wish I'd spend time doing something

else but my support for you won't stop because certain people have a poor

sense of humor or have no character or have no soul. Well, I don't give a

damn about them. They should'nt even be thalking on YOUR thread in my

opinion, but thats beside the point. As your greatest fan I just wanted to

personally thank you for that. Secondly, remember this is not just about your

fans...It's about proving to LSVW and AX3L that your ROMS are superior and

particularly you much anticipated Rom INDIGO. When they see INDIGO they

will most likly drop dead and just give up and you will win the competition for

the greatest ROM on XDA! Don't forget to take some breaks from your

cooking, but not too many...unless they're absolutly necessary! But then

again don't sacrafice the breaks if it's going to effect the quality of the ROM.

Just try to make the deadline or some of your fans might lose their faith in

you! But of course you are the world class chef so you know whats best.

Remember your not only here to impress your fans but put LSVW and AX3L's

ROM'S to SHAME! Make them wish they had never made their ROMS! "KICK"

THEIR ASS'S WITH YOUR BADASS ROM INDIGO! You may not be god, but

your the next closest thing.

To anyone who's about to take me completly seriously and speak out against

me, please do...Because I will RAISE HELL and see that this forum is shut

down for ILLEGAL OPERATION! Microsoft did not authorize putting WM6 on

the Trinity and it is therefore illegal, anyone want to argue that it is legal, go

ahead! So either keep your mouths shut and let us illegally enjoy the INDIGO

in harmony! Or speak out against me and I'll notify Bill Gates personally! This

is not completly a threat, this is justice. I'm entitled to my opinion and if you

got something negative to say I'll make you wish you kept your discomfort

from reading my post off to yourself.
A real POS!

Wolfyy7 for pity sake grow up!!!

And stop bloomin slagging off the great cookers on this site that spend ages creating great ROMs for all to use.

It is people like you that ruin it for others. Yes you are entitled to your own opinion but hey, here is a thing. If you are going to be an idiot and slag great people off, at least learn to spell properly..... Must admit, because of this great quality of yours, your posts are always entertaining, but unfortunately for you, they are for all the wrong reasons

All cookers, including MuN, keep up the excellent work, it has been an honour to try everyones ROMs.. It has been a pleasure to use them, I have enjoyed every second. Keep it up..
