Dear LVSW
Honestly, this is the greatest trinity ROM available at this point. The problem of the trinity now waking up has completely disappeared. I want to report two minor issues:
1) IF I set a filter on my contacts using a category, it doesn't stick after I clost contacts and open them again.
2) When someone sends me file using bluetooth, assuming I already have partnetship with the device, the phone doesn't report that a file is being sent, and does not give me option to accept it.

That is all for me,
Thanks

I had 2 occasions of hanging, one while closing contacts and while ending a call .

BTW: Does anybody know if there's an app to toggle the screen only with that purpose.
Thanks in advance

Found one but it's not for our ppc AFAYK http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=14497&associateid=9

For anyone interested this one work pretty well, it's very good when you use the new Audio Manager app, just assign a button.

Has anyone noticed that the symbol to tell you that you have a voicemail no longer appears? I had a voicemail for a week and didn't know about it.

Is this a setting somewhere or is it carrier related?

Also I keep getting blank sms messages from either -@ or ∆@. When I look at these messages in the sms inbox they have what appears to be a symbol of a sim card as oppose to an envelope beside them.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Here you go to kill those annoying bastards:D

HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\LoudestInCallVolume
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\QuietestInCallVolume
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\StandardInCallVolume
Within each of these keys the default 'Script' value is 'p' for 'play', change the 'Script' value to blank (erase the 'p').

@LVSW : what a killer ROM ;) Great job !

I don't notice any bug but I have two little questions

1 - Anybody got a french dictionnary ? it's useful when you write a document or a sms

2 - There's no automatic completion (suggestion of contact name) when I write a SMS or MMS, so I have to open my contact book choose the good one and select the good phone number !

Thanks for you help

Look on the cab thread you'll find the french dictonary.

About automatic completion, I don't have this issue so maybe a sotfware you've installed or an option that you have disabled.

I already installed french input but I don't know why, it doesn't work (option to suggest a word after 2 or 3 letters is activated).

For the automatic completion, no option desactivated and it works with Mun Rom with exactly the same softwares installed !!! :(

Hello to all and have a great month.

I have installed yesterday the new version of our friend LVSW the 2.0.1.1. In general it looks great. Just a few issues

GPS on cold start is weaker now and it takes more time to commence, for example inside my office with the original ROM of WM5, it could connect but now it has hard problems.

Bluetooth - Major problem, for some reason it was not working at all, but after a soft reset it worked. Now expect to see what will happen in the future.

SD card on the first soft reset it could not see any of the files. On the second it was OK. Hope it will behave better in the future

When Wi Fi is on the signal of the GSM is very weak, (original Radio).

Voip does not exist, pitty, with the method another friend is describing managed to make calls, on Wi Fi only, do not have 3G, but I could not listen anything. Any suggestion on how to overcome this problem cause voip is a very useful function to me!!!

Internet call, latest test.

Wifi off, internet call off.
I enable wifi, then i enable viop (when available). When i press ok system hangs, only soft reset remains to do. After reset wifi is on but voip remains on searching. I must set it off then when available again to be selected.

There is a soft or a way to check the log from voip service like logon status etc?

Also old problem remains with sound. Most of the time not work. Only loud static noise.

Hey all,

I've searched but I didn't find if someone already pointed this.

When I dial a number on the phonepad, the sound volume is very high... it doesn't take in account my sound setting... the only way I have to dial in my office is turn the sound off...

This is very annoying.

I was searching in the registry but didn't find what key I would have to change to remove or lower this dialpad number sound volume.

Anyone found a solution to this?

Thanks!

I used the registry editor from www.resco.net (comes with resco explorer....but there are also freeware versions) and entered the searchstring (without quotes) "HTCcalendar". In my case it found one entry in the HKEY_current_user/software/microsoft/today/keys/113

The string "open" says "windows/HTCcalendar" change this in "windows/Calendar" and it should work as advertised.

Remember to make a backup first and changing the registry is for you own risk ;-)

Is the battery drain issue fixed with this new rom?

My battery drain issues are completelty solved although I am not certain of the cause as I change more than one things at once and have not tried every ROM. My Trinity was away for repair for a while so I have been playing catch up in a couple of hops

I had been on the last release of the stock HTC WWE ROM with no battery problems following my repair.

I then tried the LVSW 1.25.000.8 WM5 ROM with Radio ROM 1.41. my battery drained at an insane rate.

I just upgrade to the WM6 LVSW 2.0.1.1 ROM and, as it had crossed my mind that the Radio ROM could possible be the culprit, I decided to downgrade my Radio back to the Official 1.38 release. Battery life is now superb, as with the stock ROMs.

I guess I can only really answer your question with another question....

Were there battery issues known with the LVSW 1.25.000.8 WM5 ROM?
If yes, then they are fixed. If they were no battery probs known with that ROM I suggest that it may be best to saty with Radio ROM 1.38 unless you are in a region were it is needed for a local optimization.

Been wondering about this myself :)

Just took the big step today, and upgraded my Trinity to WM6,

Only one small thing so far, my incoming call-volume is very low, it used to be almost frighteningly high, but after this, it's almost unhearable...is there a fix for this ?

Otherwise, great work, and I really enjoy my "new" Trinity, thx man :)

Quick update on the BT problem....I have uninstalled the phone suite and everything is ok, not to mention more memory and smoother running.

Battery drain is big when i have for example GPS on, Destinator working, bluetooth on all for a long period of time. It can really run flat the battery in a few hours but still not to the extend that you can remain with no power....

Problem with SD card is solved by doing two soft resets, on the second the card is visible.

Problem with voip is that I cannot hear a thing, when on the other side they hear me loud and clear!!!

Is there a cab that can relpace also the dll that needs replacing???

Sorry for being ignorant but what LVSW means ?

LVSW is simply the name used online by the programmer who developed this particular ROM configuration. Just as if you wrote some software you might call it svirk Version 1.0.
It might be initials or something else, just as no one but you knows why you chose the name svirk. It could be your name or your favorite food. We don't know!

Your question is quite amusing but I do appreciate your honesty. Asking questions does not mean you are ignorant, it just means you want to understand more things. Also there are people from many different places here, so what may be obvious to one person could be puzzling to someone else! All the best :)

Edit: Thank you very to the people who have confirmed no battery issues are noted between radio ROMs 1.38 and 1.41. I have a very bad habit of changing multiple things all at once... makes methodical troublingshooting very difficult. Thank goodness for the people on this forum who so much smarter! And hey, doesn't LVSW totally rock!

Must post to the VoIP specific thread as I have a little bit of experience. Just a quickie tho... one way audio is a very frequent problem in VoIP in general. It can often be caused by restrictive firewall allowing traffic on one port but not the other. It can also be tough to seperate SIP client issues from external connectivity issues.

I do notice that, with this ROm my device stains completely without battery at the end of the day.
With other wm5 or even wm6 rom i didn't notice this problem.
I guess i'll try another one, just to see what happens.
But, nevertheless, the rom is great, works fine, no problem at all. I notice too that connecting to wireless is faster as before.

With backlight dimmed, power consumption is at 26 mA. With backlight at medium setting, my trinity consumes 51 mA, fetching some data via gprs raises it to 240 mA, and after disconnect it slowly decreases back to around 61 mA to 80 mA.
I agree that it should go back to the original power consumption, but this does not strike me as a major battery drain - or am I wrong here?
I am using SPB Power Shell and Phone Suite withouth any problems.

Only one small thing so far, my incoming call-volume is very low, it used to be almost frighteningly high, but after this, it's almost unhearable...is there a fix for this ?

Great Job!

Can you have a look at the "Call Forwarding" function at the phone part, because when you forward a call to another number you are not able to make it undone anymore. This was working well in WM5.

Now you have to put your SIM card back to another phone to cancle the forwarding call.

Also Forward phone calls if: "No answer", "Unavailable", and "Busy" does not work.

I´m travelling a lot and don`t want to carry always two phones with me, so maybe you can have a look on it.

Thx

I've an odd problem. If I try to answer a call I receive while on the phone I can't hear anything.
I'm on my bluetooth headset.
I've called x
I get an incoming call from y
I try to answer y and it answers, shows I'm connected and yet I can't hear anything at all.

Ok! In the phone mode go to - Menue - Options - Services - Call Forwarding -Get Settings...Check the square and put the phone number in. Close everything and the call is diverted to that number. Fine so far. To deactivate this diversion you have to follow the same steps again. By "Get Settings...." from the network the square should still be check, but it is not. You can try whatever you want, it is not possible to deactivate the call diversion.

well, to deactivate your Call Forwarding is easier to dial ##002#. it's free and you will see: "Succeeded" - that means you have deactivated your call forwading

Have been running this for app a week now, and have the following issues :

The vast battery comsumption, is very obviously connected to the fact that my Trinity loses connection everytime it goes from 3G to just G or the other way, the device searches for 3G, and while it does so, connection is totally lost, sometimes for minutes... I have tried to disable 3G, with no result, still loss of connection, followed by the loss of power due to searching... I have tried to disable any 3G or GPRS/BT/WiFi-connection, still same result. If I go to flightmode, the power-consumption is all gone.
Downgrading the Radio doesn't help either, but this is definitely due to some "glitch" in the Radio-ROM, and loss of connection is ehh...not so good...
Hope this is something that can be fixed, 'cause otherwise everything is perfect.
Thx for your hard work :)

I'm on the 2.0.0.7 ROM and Radio 1.41 at this moment, an experiencing the horrible batterydrain after datasessions...
Can anyone confirm wether the 2.0.1.1 ROM already fixes this, or do i have to downgrade the radio to 1.38 as well ?
Or does neither of these options fix the problem...? (I find i quite annoying to have to turn the phone off and on again after each datasession)

So far this is the worst issue for me... :(

As for reports on BT not working; i can confirm that Spb PhoneSuite is causing this issue... Uninstalled it, and everything is fine now (regardless of how much RAM is free!) :)

No it wont erase everything. just do a soft reset and you've got 1.38 in.
however i have observed that 1.38 on my 810 is not really stable. experienced drop calls, delayed sms. Keen to try the 1.35 radio rom which came with the dopod d810 rom released this year with GPS enabled.

First I "downgraded" to Radio ROM 1.38, with no result what-so-ever, still vast power consumption. When I was just about to give up, I thought I might as well try the Radio ROM 1.41 just one more time....And guess what...yes :) everything is running perfectly now, no loss of connex, switches back and forth ( 3G and not ) leaves no troubles, and best of all, the power-consumption is gone.. :)
Been running all day, app 45 mins talk, lots of mail and some 20 sms', and only down to 80 % power, yes...!!!
I now am the very happy owner of a Trinity running WM6, SPB-mobile shell and Phone-suite, SBSH pocket-breeze, TomTom, Video-calls, Wi-Fi, well everything....flawlessly, no issues at all...this is downright awesome... :D

Hey,

Having issues with this rom and adding/using more than one bluetooth device.

I can easily add the first device, no problems and use it fine.

Once i add a second device it won't find it unless i first switch the BT off then on again, and the soft reset. However, if i then use either of the two bluetotth devices, i can then no longer use the second one, without once again powering BT off then on and reseting the pda.

For example, i've got the Supertooth Light and my PC both paired to bluetooth. I jump in the car, switch supertooth on, it works. Get into office, BT on PC simply won't work. I switch BT off then on and reset pda, and connec ts to PC no problems. I go back to car, and won't sync with the supertooth till i go through the same thing again.

Does this on 1.35 radio, 1.38 and 1.41... Anyone have any ideas?

Two both of your questions, the answer is yes :)
I don't have to do anything, I connect/disconnect to HSDPA/UMTS/GPRS with no issues at all...
And I never had any probs with PhoneSuite, and yes I use BT every day, switch it on and off using PhoneSuite...

So let me conclude: i should first downgrade the radio from 1.41 to 1.38, then update LVSW's 2.0.0.7 ROM to 2.0.1.1, and then do the radio upgrade back to 1.41.....? That's exactly what you did...?
And your setup now is LVSW v2.0.1.1 with R 1.41...right ?

And another question; if Spb seems to run fine in your setup, have you not noticed the infamous memoryleak as well ? (allthough you don't use PocketPlus as i see now..)

Ok, from the top I used LVSW's 2.0.1.1 ROM, which contains the 1.41 radio, and from there I had some troubles reg. power-consumption and loss of connection.
I then back-tracked to 1.38 radio, with no change in either of the above. Tried all kinds of settings, BT on/off, G3 on/off etc, and when I was about to give up, I tried to upgrade just the radio again to 1.41. And with no reasonable explanation, my device is now running flawlessly ( third day now ) with no issues what-so-ever....
And no, I kinda dumped SPB Pocket-Plus since the build in HTC-task-manager does what I used to use PP for ( the real closing of progs )...

Hope this makes sense, I must admit I was happily surprised when things worked all of a sudden, but the above is all I did... :)

Couple of problems to which I could not find an answer:

camera does not work, can not be initialised.
3G doesn't seem to be working, and gprs seems to take a while to connect, or doesn't connect at all at times.
not sure gps is working, couldn't pick up any satellites, and I'm in London - nowhere rural.

Any suggestions? Try going to the 1.38 version of radio perhaps?

If it says searching for satellites, then the pda can communicate with the GPS receiver correctly :) So maybe try and stand in a open place or something...

Same as risk as before? I admit, I've flashed a total of 4 ROMS on my Trinity and Wizard combined and all went well.

Anyway, I've got SSPL by Des running -- that enough to flash the radio ROM then LVSW's WM6 ROM?

I really don't understand how to run the WM6 installation. I installed the SPL, which was weird because it said I was running version 1.23 (official HTC ROM) and this SPL is version 1.20. Anyway, I did that, and then I tried to install the 1.41 GSM, but it couldn't do that and gave me a "Device Not Responding" error. I guess at this point I just need to install the WM6?

Yes, that was it, so the instructions should be:

Install the SPL utility
Then upgrade to WM6. If you get a Device Not Responding error, just run the installer again while the Trinity is on the colour bars.
Then install the 1.41.

I've flashed only this:
3) Update ROM: 20070527_Trinity_WM6_v2.0.1.1

What are the benefits to flash this?:
2) Update GSM: GSM_1.41.00.11

I've read here about battery problems. So better not do 2) ?

Lvsw's Rom is an outstanding job. I have 2.0.1.1 Lvsw's Rom and excepting battery's life there are no problems (3g works, bluetooth works, wifi ok, camera as well). I also try the mUn's Rom (wich has some extra speed) but I stiked on lvsw'rom - works and looks perfect. So you should trust the good work of Lvsw

everything is perfect but the a2dp, it's simply impossible to use.it always skips and when you fix the bitrate the trinity is slow like a tortule.

what do you mean by "fixing the bitrate"? What do you change the bitrate too? When I listen to music on th trinity i only need to do just that, not use it, so I dont care if it makes it slower i just want it to stop skipping...

I use this rom (2.0.1.1) + Radio 1.41 withOUT any issue!!!

btw...

i have disabled (un-checked) "Receive all incoming beams" in Beam (under Setting -> connection Tab);

disabled "Advanced USB"

Un-checked all voices under "POWER" tab (TweakUI), except SDMemory_Class and MMC_Class

I use my Trinity as Mp3 player every day...some times I use WiFi to web-surfing and/or EDGE connection (and i disconnect from it using the "button" in the bubble) and GPS too....

My Phone-Band is blocked to 2G (gprs/edge) alltimes

...and my battery survive 2 days + !!!!

lucky?

I charge my trinity everyday so this battery leaking problem is not so serious. But I do see there is a problem here, which is confirmed by many people as WM6 problem.

Hopefully, the official ROM should rectify this problem.

Hm, why do you think there will be an official WM6 ROM for the Trinity? I'd say what you get here is as "official" as it's ever going to be...:-)

So, thanks to mUn and LVSW and everyone else who has contributed.

My guesses also are that there wont be an official rom, so we can only hope for a stable version from LVSW without battery issues and with SIP working

There will be an official ROM from Dopod at least in Hong Kong.

What... and that's it? You're gonna give up without a fight? Whilst HTC provides WM6 ROMs for their other devices with a lower bug count, we're supposed to salvage what we can?

Have some faith, brotha! Got to flood HTC's customer services team with this until they realize it'll be cheaper for them just to pay their developers to code a WM6 ROM for the Trinity than to pay their many support staff to reply to our emails about WM6!!

Getting a little tired of people mentioning Dopod when we're looking for an HTC ROM! It's not just that we want the same treatment from HTC as owners of their other devices are receiving but we also want it to all be 100% HTC.

That way we can sell our P3600 on eBay (with the enticing WM6 feature) when Kaiser or the next best thing comes out without buyer's asking us why the ROM says Dopod everywhere.

i think that this rom is absolutely perfect!!

however, this is for me THE "final" WM6 rom for trinity:

LVSW 2.0.1.1

- IA Zip (a great zip-managment utility is integrated into app like Resco Explorer..many people use it or PocketRAR...but you "can't" add this program to your rom...maybe...)
- All templates, help file, sample video etc...
- HTC Audio Manager (WMP works well....and if an user want it, he can install it into his device)

+ Messenger (Live or the "old" MSN ???)
+ VoIP service (both, WiFi and 3G enabled)
+ An updated TweakUI w/ other tweaks like "SD PnP unload Delay fix"; vibration for the dialpad's buttons; Low battery warning (an alternative is include directly this tweak to the registry...)

Hi guys,

I have a bluetooth carkit installed in my car. Have paired it with many devices in the past but I am getting an odd experience with thi pda.
Basically, if I make a call, all good.
However, if I go to receive a call while the pda is connected to the bluetoth, it simply disconnects / re-routes the voice back to the phone.
My fix is to press menu > Turn Handsfree on, however this is VERY annoying as the B party is always waiting for me to do this.

So......

Any ideas on how I can make this problem go away?

Cheers
Jeff

I've updated my two TyTn's to WM6 using the ROMS on this site. They went fine. Very happy indeed.

I'm trying to update my P3600's now. With the first one, I didn't look too gard, and found the Italian version. I used this and then later found an English version. Now if I try to use the English version it completes, but doesn't change anything. I still have a phone in Italian!!!!!

Can anyone tell me how to change it to English please??? (I don't speak very good Italian).

Thanks

Installing 20070527_Trinity_WM6_v2[1].0.1.1.exe over the top fix my Italian problem. I'm back to English again. I prefer the look of the Italian (apart from the fact that everything is in Italian obviously!), but at least I can read everything again now!!

BTW, I don't know if people are still looking, but I found the Windows Live cab in the TyTn forums. It works on my TyTn's and on these P3600's (all three of them). Only my two old Universals to upgrade now!!!!

hmm strange. when I "search this thread" with the keyword power - I find 20 posts - all pointing to power drain issues with this ROM. By looking around the forum there are quite obviously power drain issues with nearly all WM6 ROMS for trinity. these are particularly noticeable after GRPS connections and can be minimised by disconnecting the phone (flight mode for example) after such connections.

Here's a screenshot of my search - try again. This forum is full of useful information. However, if everyone just posts a question instead of looking for the information - the forum becomes full of questions and the answers are all the more difficult to find.

Not trying to be difficult, but it is for everyone's benefit that I say: please please please look and search before posting questions:confused:

Seems like it uses a lot more than WM5 to me.

your question was the above. Either you don't know how to use the search feature, don't know how to use google or don't know how to read. If you cannot accept that a simple search gives answers to your questions: Yes, plenty of people have battery drain problems, yes it is a problem with a lot of WM6 ROMs. If you really search, you WILL find. In this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312499&page=44 you will find a fix.

So despite the fact that "As I already said: I searched before I asked, but as I also mentioned; I could not find a good solution to this problem, therefore I asked." have a little humility and accept that one of the above is the case instead of trying to justify the fact that you were right to create a thread to ask this question.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for posting that.

Once installed the WM6, should I also install the update for GSM and Hard SPL? By the way what is Hard SPL?

Cheers

Guys hello to you all,

I'm behind a firewall and my superb Italian hosts have blocked any FTP sites and more recently blocked megaupload/rapidshare. Does anyone happen to know anywhere else that I can download the roms???? I'm not due home on vacation for another 2 weeks. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi,

I am new to updating my HTC, So I have a few questions to ask about this upgrade to WM 6.0. Basically I am upgrading, because with the original ROM, my HTC P3600 freezes once in a while.

- Do I have to install also the radio which is shipped in this thread? Or can I leave the original one?

- When I try to update the ROM, or Hard-Spl, I get the ERROR[246]: DEVICE NOT RESPONDING. And on HTC I get the red, green, blue and white stripe with ROM info. HTC is connected with computer - updater finds the version which is installed on the HTC, but I have no idea why, just before upgrade, I get this message and everything stops. HTC works after reset (of course with the old ROM).

Can anyone please help me with this?

I update today for the first time with this ROM and everithing if working fine for now, but I have a problem:
I got an error when I try to set any speed-dial. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Edit:
Problem solved.
My mistake: I restore all my contacts in WM6, from a backup made on SPB Backup under WM5.
Before this, all the speed-dial keys are fully configurable with any number I create in the contact list. After restore the contacts, the speed-dial report an error and it's impossible to assing any contact number.
Solution: sync. all the contacts (WM5) with Outlook (PC), and sync again after install WM6.
May be it was talked before, but hope this can help other user with the same problem ;)
