Am I the only one not receiving email this morning? I can send out email fine although it gets marked as spam with a big [BULK] tagged to it but I'm not receiving any emails from anywhere.
No errors nothing just no emails and it doesn't matter if its exchange, owa or my PDA..
You are not alone. I stopped receiving email about midnight.

I'm having the same problem, but a little more bizarre. I can send emails, and I can receive some emails, but not others. I have not noticed any emails flagged as [BULK] either. The received emails are not in the junk or deleted folders, they are just not there at all.
I can see no pattern to it. I have tried sending email to my own domain (which is forwarded to my email@getztek.com), or directly to the getztek.com address. Some are delivered, some are not.
Since this does not generate an error message, a user could be blissfully unaware of the problem for quite some time.
I am paying a monthly subscription, in the hope that this type of problem would be past tense, but I am a little upset that I now have a problem, so soon after the new subscription service was initiated.

I started noticing at around 4:00PM EST. I was hoping that the conversion to paid subscriptions only would reduce the likelihood of this kind of thing...oddly enough, it always happens when I need it most: I was about to send some photos from the phone's camera to myself since my USB cable wasn't around.
I'm not saying it's easy, and I'm not trying to be condescending, but I think that we should be getting more consistent service. Frankly, I'd be willing to pay extra to ensure this, just so long as it is a competitive price compared to "enterprise" solutions. You can get Exchange 2007 service for roughly ten bucks, so anything reasonably below that would be A-OK with me.

Also, I am having a problem with junk mail: after the big crash (and my new subscription) junk mail was not a problem -- I was very pleased and all the distateful stuff wasn't coming through. Then after the crash and reboot of a couple of days ago, the junk started coming through again. I was happy for a few days. I don't know if there were more effective filters brought to bare or what but something definitely happened in this regard.
Good luck denial in getting back up quickly -- and any comment on the junk being gone; then returning after the last reboot?

I am using a TyTN II running WM6.1 and have a problem with tasks. The error is repeatable. If on my PDA I create two tasks, one dated today and one dated tomorrow, when I synchronise, in Outlook both new tasks have the same date even though they stay as the correct dates on the PDA. The only way I can get this to work correctly is to create the first task, sync, then create the second task then sync.
Anyone else have this problem or is it related to WM6.1?

I'm importing all my mail folders (DeniaL set in outlook as IMAP) from my old IMAP server (locally backed up as .pst) to DeniaL. I'm using the stupid/simple way of copying folder by folder but I have the following problems:
- In DeniaL the date of each mail is the date of the tranfer (today!!) and it's actual sent date.
- Is there a size limit for a single mail?
How can I fix them?

Hi
I cant synchronize when I'm roaming and that seems to be a setting in the exchangeserver. these settings are pushed from the getztek exchange server. There is also a small bug in exchange with making this setting right.
Can you please turn this on. Now i can only recieve mail from getztek when i'm with my own provider.
There is also a option in windows mobile 6.1 from within activesync you choose "schema" but the option for Roaming with this setting is GREY.
This is pushed from the exchangeserver
Can you help in this, i really need roaming mail.

Nevermind. Everything is up and running again.

Edit:
Contacts with pictures are not syncing.
I have this problem, too. The contacts with pictures don't show up on my WM6 phone.
Outlook 2003 SP3 on my desktop works fine.
In OWA, I can see the picturefied records in the contact list, but when I click on them, I get the message "The item that you attempted to access no longer exists."
Could this possibly be server related?

Not that I expect you to support an unfinished OS but Windows 7 beta and outlook do not support exchange over http. It will not allow you to connect. It is discussed over here:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itprogeneral/thread/a501c9c1-cc29-48ab-af03-fffe531fbde0#page:2
Just thought I would give you heads up since it looks like many people will be trying this beta out. Apparently the only fix so far is to connect with NTLM authorization which getzetk isn't working with. Hope there is a fix for this from microsoft.

I will definitely take a look at this, but I can't imagine MS would release Windows 7, while simultaneously breaking one of their own features.

I'm having an issue that I'm hoping you can help me with. I've subscribed to your push service and never had any issues setting it up/using it until now. I've recently purchased a Touch HD and when I setup Activesync I receive an error message that states;
"The security certificate on the server is not valid. Contact your Exchange Server administrator or ISP to install a valid certificate on the server.
Support code: 0x80073F06"
Do you know what to do? I'm 100% certain that the settings are correct. They were on my HTC Tytn.

I then have to enter my password again (Before this I had saved the password, so I could start Outlook with one click).

I have the same issue with the certificate not valid anymore warn. DeniaL, can you help us out here? What happened?
DeniaL

The security certificate is fine. What happened was I turned on the autodiscover feature (haven't had a chance to test it) but that opened up autodiscover.getztek.com and that sub domain doesn't have the correct certificate installed. Haven't had time to really **** with it, so that's why you are getting those pop-ups. But the mail cert is just fine...I assure you.

The problem is likely you've got an inexpensive SSL cert from Godaddy. Exchange requires autodiscover.yourdomain.com to be part of the SSL cert or you get the nag screen. Wildcard SSL certs won't work and the only (good) way around the error is by getting a SAN cert.
This way you'll be able to add the NetBIOS name of the computer, FQDN.com, autodiscover.fqdn.com, mail.fqdn.com, etc. to the cert. Once this is done the nag screen will go away for the end users.
MSFT really screwed up their implementation of SSL in Exchange '07. Hopefully wildcard SSL certs will be acceptable in future releases.

It's working fine now, thanks - the only problem for me was having to type out my password every time I opened Outlook, after OKing the certificate error - I don't have to now.

I would like to ask the users that are using DeniaL's exchange server a couple questions..
1.) Is the uptime fairly consistent? 95% or better?
2.) What's the difference of Exchange 2003 and 2007
3.) Do you feel that you are getting what you pay for?
4.) Is it better than 1and1?

I hope this will help, if you use:
SSL, root certificate and active snyc on HD touch
been having the same error code with our exchange server
the problem lies in certificate and wm 6.1
in the root of the certificate there are several links stored
where the webmail is, but the wm6.1 only uses the first one so ...
after a lot of clicking, I found the SSL ChainSaver (program)
it generates report about web site where the certificate lies
(which certificates, which links and if mobile device will connect to this site)
either use the first link in certificate (that worked for me)
or get a new root certificate (where the first links must be the correct one)

I think you got lucky. It asks for your password as part of a security thing, since you aren't technically on the local network with the server. If there is a way around it, I would rather not help as I think its a bad idea to save your password

Does the exchange server have the lastest Service Pack?
And do you plan on upgrading to Exchange 2010 when that is release?
Side note:
I was trying to use the new Mail from OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and the new active-sync and i get this error
The Exchange Server “server.getztek.com” doesn’t have the minimum required version installed. To use Mail with Exchange, the server must be running Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 or later. Contact your server administrator.
So wondering if you had the latest update and if this was the error on the mac side

I am using snow leopard without any problems. I don't have the error the poster above is speaking about.
I have two minor issues that i think are apples fault. My mail used to keep saying that I had one new messege even thought owa and my iphone said i didn't. I would look through my box and nothing was marked so I had to setup mail again to get rid of it. Seems to be okay now. Also mail doesn't seem to be pushing. It seems to just be downloading every minute, once again apple's problem. Otherwise, it works great.

I am continuing to get the same Task problems despite changing phones to a Touch HD and upgrading to WM 6.5.X. If I hard reset then sync with exchange most of my tasks have the due date changed so they are all the same. I found someone else having the same problem...
If I change my task dates for more than one task they all end up showing the same date as the first task I changed on the Exchange 2007 server/Outlook while my phone shows the correct dates. My experiences so far are...
Changing the task dates via the web or Outlook produces no problems.
MS Exchange 2003 - no problems.
MS Exchange 2007 - Exactly the same error with 2 different company servers.
MS MyPhone - no problems.
WM 6.0 and 6.1 phones (both HTC) - same problem with EX 2007.
All other data is synched correctly for tasks, emails, contacts etc.
Does anyone else have strange task syching problems... or even better know of a solution?
P.S. HTC, both Ex 2007 providers and MS forums unable to help so far...

Just an FYI to all who are interested. I just purchased a new server today and will be setting it up as Win 2k8 R2 SP1 and Exchange 2010. I will NOT be migrating any user's data to the new server. If you wish to have an account on the new server, let me know. I will most likely be using a different domain with this server, so if you use the getztek.com e-mail address, you may not want to switch.

My old 2007 server will still be there, but this new server is a beast in comparison.

Got it.
How many time do we have to decide to move?
How many days do we have to migrate (days with two servers)?
Does it work with Outlook 2003?
Thanks a lot for this free upgrade.

At the present moment, I don't have a time frame to phase out the 2007 server, but I do want to at some point.
You have as many days as you need to migrate your data...I just ask that you let me know once you are finished so I can remove the old account.
It should work just fine with Outlook 2003.
Thanks.

DeniaL,
let me try to summarize the step to obtain the migration to 2010:
- We need to communicate to you via PM the usual data + existing paypal recurrence ID:
First Name:
Last Name or Initial:
E-Mail address requested: whatever@getztek.com
Alias: whatever@whatever.com
Password:
- Yuo'll activate the account on 2010 server, keeping the old active.
- We have to migrate data trough pst export.
- We have to set up all our clients (Outlook, mobile.....) with new server setup parameters.
- We'll upload our data from the local pst to the new 2010 account.
- Communicate to you we are OK in order to delete our 2007 data.
Is my understanding correct?
My only concern is that as all the new 2010 parameters looks to me the same as 2007, how can we manage the switch for data?
Thanks.

This is all correct. Except the new server has a new domain name. ZTEK.ME . So most of the settings are the same except instead of server.getztek.com it's server.ztek.me. The username when connecting to Outlook is ZTEK\User instead of GETZTEK\User .

Sorry for not reading the new tutorial carefully.
Will me new email address be (where I will instruct my gmail account to forward all my emails to) be user@ztek.me?

Everything looks correct. Specifically the username part has to be in the ZTEK\vitto.tog format.

You don't need that tick in the security tab. I'm not sure why it's not working...it's working for everyone else. Maybe start fresh with a new profile?

It is a new profile.
I got a further error message saying that server or mailbox can not be resolved.
Is for the other folks working with Outlook 2003 + XP?
Should I try a different client (Outlook 2010)?

Well we know the server and the mailbox are working if its working with Android and OWA. I know it's working on Outlook 2003, 2007, and 2010 versions. As far as XP, I don't know. Only other thing I can suggest is to let me connect remotely through a service like join.me and I can set it up myself?

go to join.me . Click on the "Share" button. This will pop up a download for the join.me executable. Download and run that. Once it's installed, you will see a widget like thing at the top of your screen. It will have "I THINK" a 9 or 10 digit number. PM me that number. Then once I connect, you will have to grant me access. I think that's done by click on the mouse icon on that widget thing. Also in your PM, please give me your password as well so I don't have to hunt that down. Thanks.

DeniaL,
I sent you a PM about this but I figured I'd post it here to see what others think whether this is the resolution...
I'm having an issue syncing my email when I am roaming. On my phone(EVO 3D) i am unable to check "sync while roaming"(it is greyed out). After researching on Google, I found this bit(at several different sites) that may be the issue. It relates to exchange 2007 but may be the same with Exchange 2010...
To allow your phone to sync when roaming you must UNCHECK the Allow synchronization when roaming box in your mobile policy. The box referrs to letting you manually set your roaming schedule. Unchecking it assumes auto sync all the time. Then refresh your policy and it should then be available on your phone
I think this is a server side setting that I can't change myself.
Any other see this issue?

Hi DeniaL,
Yes, what I think they are saying is to UNCHECK that option.
As seen here... http://www.proexchange.be/blogs/exchange2007/archive/2009/08/12/preventing-exchange-activesync-direct-push-while-roaming.aspx
That checkbox actually sets the policy RequireManualSyncWhenRoaming. As you can see in the Activesync dialog screenshot in the article, the Use While Roaming checkbox is greyed. That is what I am seeing as well. Since it is greyed, it doesn't autosync. I have to manually sync when roaming.
The above linked article explains it well.
Basically that checkbox is doing the OPPOSITE of what is expected. I believe it needs to be UNCHECKED.
Thanx

Thanks DeniaL. Unfortunately the option remains greyed out. I even deleted the account and recreated it on my phone.
Did you refresh the policy after you unchecked it? I ask because many of the threads I've found on this make a point to say to do that otherwise the setting won't change for people connecting in.
WOW, I was positive this would fix it as everything I have found says that this is the culprit.
Thanks again DeniaL

Hey DeniaL
Is there something going on with your server? On my phone, it suddenly is syncing every couple of SECONDS even tho there is no mail to download. This is is destroying my battery life.
I had to turn off autosync on the mail portion.
Can you take a look?
Thanx

OK I deleted the account and recreated it and it seems OK now. I'll keep an eye on it.
I don't know what caused it as it was just recharging on the wall charger overnight. When I picked it up this morning it was extremely warm and I noticed the sync icon every few seconds.
Thanks for the quick response.

Hey DeniaL - I understand you're busy, but do you have an answer to my question I sent about 3-4 days ago regarding me forwarding my Mx records to your mail server and your mail server not accepting any messages?
At the moment my mailbox with you is useless as when people reply to my alias listed on my account it bounces from your server.
Thanks,

Hey DeniaL,
Are there any issues with your server? As of yesterday I've stopped receiving any emails. None of my forwarded email coming from my primary email are being received by ztek.me, thus there's nothing to push. I'm not seeing any rejected or bounce messages. Just nothing gets to ztek.me
Thanx

I did some testing last night. I tried sending emails from 2 different email services to my ztek.me email and neither of them are being received on the ztek server. I even logged in to the web based ztek system to see and they are not there.
I CAN send stuff from ztek to other emails. But ztek.me is not receiving any emails. I have not seen any bounced messages either.

Don't know quite HOW it happened, but my Router's firewall just took a dump and was blocking a vital port for receiving internet e-mail. It should be fixed now. I don't know if you will receive those e-mails during the "down-time" but incoming email should now be restored.

DeniaL,
I realize you do this as a side project; but is there plans to have some kind of backup plan for when things like this happen?
I've been doing a lot of trading lately, and have missed about 2-3 days worth of business emails because of this outage. (Emails stopped coming in Wednesday my time [its Friday here]), I've since had to redirect my domain to a google apps server and just hope that I haven't lost any emails, I've had a whole lot of delay and bounce messages since redirecting to Gmail servers.
