OK here is the story, had my spv m3100 for a few months, despite its bugs, been quite happy with it. decided to update the phone with the latest Orange update, after much messing about got it to start the upgrade process @ 17% it bummed out, and now i cannot get it out of tricolour mode.

I have tried the mitty.exe > set 14 0 method and its still the same.

the phone was unlocked when i got it (using it on o2) , active sync wont connect to it. I am reading through the forums now , but so far what i have tried hasnt helped.

the details onscreen are
herm100
IPL-1.01

herm100
SPL-1.09

what can i do to ressurect it ?

i`m in the uk.

thanks in advance (am still reading the forums now)

cheers

You should have done the reading before the flashing, you would have known to upgrade to olipro Hard SPL before flashing. Read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286755 and follow the instructions in it.

Yes with hindsight your correct, however, when you download an official update from the resellers sight, you dont expect it to fook up your phone.

cheers for the heads up, read read read......

EDIT : IVE ALREADY READ THAT THREAD, MY PHONE WILL NOT COME OUT OF BOOT PROCESS USING THE MITTY.EXE METHOD.

If you were following reseller instructions and installing a reseller provided ROM when it died then stop everything and return it to them for repair.

i dowloaded the update from orange website. i bought the phone on e-bay a good while backso not sure if i can take it to service center etc.

also i need my phone so have to try and sort it.

ok, ive somehow managed to get it off the tricolour screem, it just stays at the WINDOWS MOBILE screen.

ive tried the soft / hard reset / battery out tricks etc etc, no go.

active synce wont connect to it either, anyone any suggestions?

Well, based on what you say, I think you can fix it.

Once again: Read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286755 and follow the instructions in it.

and once again, i have literally tried everything in that thread apart from kitl (what ever it is) as my phone doesnt have this option.

i`m trying everything and it just isnt going anywhere.

That is the thread for fixing bricked phones. You have to post all of the information you can IN THAT THREAD so the experts can read it and help you out. you have a type 2 brick. See the 2nd post in that thread and follow that format to provide all the information you can. Follow the instructions and people will try to help you out. Your current situation should be correctable if you provide some information in THE PROPER THREAD.

OK?

You might be having problems with a USB port/hub interfering with the update (as per my post in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293665&page=31 ).

Try the update again with just the M3100 connected to a USB port - if that port doesn't work, try another one.

In my case, first attempt with only the M3100 installed, got the unlocking to work correctly.

Hope that helps, and good luck with it.

ETA: Hmmmmmmmm. Seems there's more to it than just the USB (I think it's involved though). Dutty's WM6 Rom loader had the same 'shutting down' impact on Activesync. Tried Black 2.5, different loader (or something different about it), no problems flashing.

Hopefully that's useful info to someone, and I'll edit the message in the other thread.
