After trying to update my rom to PDAMobiz_Dopod_P800W_AKU301_v1.1.2_PowerMap
My HTC p3300 froze.
I guess its my own fault not using a compatible rom. But its not so clear what rom fits what.
Anyway
As far a i have figured i need a original swedish rom to put my HTC p3300 back to life.
I have tired with the WWE rom from the wiki but it wont work.
PLEASE help me here

I think you should have CID unlocked your device first from www.imei-check.co.uk, before trying another rom, may be they can help you out if you contact them.

So what u are saying is that I cant fix this myself. Even if I got the right rom file?
Could u please explain exactly what cid unlocking is and why are my HTC locked.
I mean its a flashable device. Why must I pay someone to unlockit before I can update it.
If HTC delivers a new rom update do i still have to cid unlock it?

please search the forum and you will see each rom are locked to country-language-network settings, if you get swedish rom then it should work but I don't think you will find other than original english HTC rom

Yes, you can. It is also printed on the label underneath the battery, and it may also be available on the cartboard box the phone was shipped in, if you still have it.

It worked perfectly. I now have my phone back in working conditions.
I might still send it to the iemi guys to have it unlocked
Best regards

You don't have to send it physically, but they will send you a file, based on your unique IMEI number. That file contains some sort of code which unlocks your device.
